1 OUT OF 3 ITALIANS SAYS 'NO' TO MOSQUES

Here's some outstanding news in the anti-jihad war: One third of Italians don't want more mosques built in Italy. I'm glad someone, somewhere gets it that allowing more Muslim infiltration into their country opens the gates to an Islamic takeover.

FROM ANSAMED.INFO:

IMMIGRATION: 1 OUT OF 3 ITALIANS SAYS 'NO' TO MOSQUES

(ANSAmed)
ROME, APRIL 29 - The distrust of Italians towards the immigrants is growing: almost one out of three says no to the construction of mosques on the national territory. And if the Islamic immigrants are considered problematic, the control/regulation of immigration represents one of the ten major problems in the country. These are the results of the second survey of the Social Observatory on Immigrations, conducted by Makno & Consulting. The research - presented at the Viminale Palace by Minister Giuliano Amato - involved 1,000 Italian citizens and 1,000 immigrants. In the past year, according to the survey, the population having feelings of openness and helpfulness towards the immigrants remained stable at 42%, while the citizens who showed feelings of distrust doubled (from 5.9% in the previous survey to 11.3%), along with those who had feelings of indifference (from 10.7% to 17.1%). Immigration from Islamic countries seemed to be more problematic to the majority of Italians (55%): the specific problems were the intolerance of Muslims towards the Catholic religion (28%), the critical attitude towards Italian culture and traditions (25%) and the danger of terrorist attacks (17%). The majority of Italians saw the immigrants as an economic resource for companies (57%), useful in the assistance to the elderly (68.4%), mostly as honest people (51%), while illegal immigrants - felt to be increasing - represented a problem for the security of citizens (52%). The consensus for the concession of the Italian citizenship to the immigrants after five years of regular presence in Italy, subject to prior test on the actual knowledge of the Italian language, increased (59%). As regards immigrants, over 70% of the interviewed were satisfied with their job. For the remaining 30%, the main reasons for dissatisfaction were the low salaries and little security to continue being employed (both 46%), followed by the fact that the job was tough (37%) and without regular contract (34%). As many as 77% considered their stay in Italy positively, but those who were thinking to go back to their own country increased (from 22.4% to 26%). The majority (58%) was interested in applying for citizenship. Even a big share of the non-Muslim immigrants (44.5%) believed that immigration from Islamic countries posed more problems than that from other countries. Besides, almost 50% of the Christian immigrants and immigrants from other faiths were against the possibility for Muslims to build mosques in Italy: a much higher percentage than the one registered among Italians (31%). According to Islamic immigrants, the main problems for Muslims in Italy were the difficulty to respect their religious practices (40%), the risk of losing the values of their culture (30%), the difficulty to find appropriate food for their culture and tradition (28%) and the fact that in Italy there is too much freedom (22%). A total 23% of the Islamic immigrants stated, on the contrary, to like living in Italy. (ANSAmed).

No Jihadis Here!

The Bush administration continues to shove it's head where the sun don't shine so as to not see the Islamic jihad juggernaut sweeping over the globe and America. The question is: why? Why downplay the greatest threat to our very existence? Why keep the American people in the dark about the tens of millions of fanatical Muslims plotting to destroy the West? It make no sense to me. If anything, the government should be informing the populace of every Islamic act of terror and attempt to subvert our society.

As I listen to ABC radio news one of the most important items today seems to be who was voted off Dancing With the Stars. WTF is going on?

FROM HUMANEVENTS.COM:

No Jihadis Here!
by Robert Spencer

Break out the flowers and tie-dye t-shirts: the jihad is over -- if you want it. Or at least, if you’re listening to the Bush Administration.

Last week the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security and the National Counter Terrorism Center issued new guidelines forbidding personnel from using the words “jihad” or “jihadist” in reference to Islamic terrorism and its perpetrators.

A Homeland Security report tellingly entitled “Terminology to Define the Terrorists: Recommendations from American Muslims” explains that this initiative comes from a concern not to offend moderate Muslims. By calling the terrorists “jihadists,” American officials could be “unintentionally portraying terrorists, who lack moral and religious legitimacy, as brave fighters, legitimate soldiers or spokesmen for ordinary Muslims.”

Using the term “jihad” may not be “strategic.” Why not? “Because it glamorizes terrorism, imbues terrorists with religious authority they do not have and damages relations with Muslims around the world.” American officials “should not concede the terrorists’ claim that they are legitimate adherents of Islam.”

Unfortunately, other illegitimate adherents of Islam, at least by Bush Administration standards, include some of the most prominent scholars of religious law in Islamic history -- many of whose writings remain influential in the Islamic world today. One Islamic jurist, Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani, declared that “jihad is a precept of Divine institution” -- and he didn’t mean the struggle to avoid sin that the State Department envisions. Religious war was the only thing he had in mind: “It is preferable not to begin hostilities with the enemy before having invited the latter to embrace the religion of Allah except where the enemy attacks first. They have the alternative of either converting to Islam or paying the poll tax (jizya), short of which war will be declared against them.”

Ibn Taymiyya (d. 1328), a favorite of Osama bin Laden and other modern-day jihadists, said that “lawful warfare is essentially jihad and…its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost.” Therefore, “according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.”

Nor is this the view of just a few ancient jurists. Majid Khadduri (1909-2007), an internationally renowned Iraqi scholar of Islamic law, explained in his 1955 book War and Peace in the Law of Islam that “the Islamic state, whose principal function was to put God’s law into practice, sought to establish Islam as the dominant reigning ideology over the entire world….The jihad was therefore employed as an instrument for both the universalization of religion and the establishment of an imperial world state.” Revival of the supranational Islamic state is high on the jihadist to-do list today. Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee, Assistant Professor on the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law of the International Islamic University in Islamabad, in a 1994 book on Islamic law says that “the primary goal of the Muslim community, in the eyes of its jurists, is to spread the word of Allah through jihad, and the option of poll-tax [jizya] is to be exercised only after subjugation” of non-Muslims.

As Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini put it: “Islam makes it incumbent on all adult males, provided they are not disabled or incapacitated, to prepare themselves for the conquest of [other] countries so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world....But those who study Islamic Holy War will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world....There are hundreds of other [Qur’anic] psalms and Hadiths [sayings of the Prophet] urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all this mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”

In sum, the imperative to wage war against unbelievers in order to establish over them the hegemony of Islamic law wasn’t invented by Al-Qaeda; it is taught by all the Sunni schools of jurisprudence, and by the Shi’ites also. This doesn’t mean that every Muslim takes it seriously. But it does mean that it’s just whistling in the dark to think that Al-Qaeda’s claim to represent Islamic purity can’t draw on genuine elements of Islamic theology that encourage bellicosity. And it’s short-sighted and foolish to refrain from studying those elements of Islamic tradition -- a study that can reveal a great deal about the motives and goals of modern-day Islamic jihadists -- in order to avoid offending Muslims.

It is also revelatory that these recommendations apparently come from “American Muslims.” Which ones? And who has made sure where they themselves stand -- a question made all the more urgent by the shadowy ties that vaunted faux-moderate groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations have to convicted jihadists and jihadist groups?

Probably no one vetted them at all, because no one knows how, because the questions that would have to be asked have already been ruled out as politically incorrect and “offensive.”

Fantasy-based policymaking is never wise. Yet that is what the Bush Administration has embarked upon – yet again, years after the President proclaimed Islam a “religion of peace” – with these Orwellian new directives. But hey, “moderate” Muslim groups in the U.S. are happy, the politically correct media is happy, so what could be the downside?

The only losers will be the victims of the next jihad terror attack, victims of the impossibility of defeating an enemy we refuse to know and understand -- and whom we are afraid even to name.

Outrage: DNC Ad Shows U.S. Soldiers Being Blown Up

Scum, they're just scum. There is no discernable difference between the Democratic National Committee and al Qaeda.

Outrage: DNC Ad Shows U.S. Soldiers Being Blown Up
Monday, April 28, 2008 9:37 PM

By: Jim Meyers

The Democratic National Committee has sparked outrage among veterans and others across the internet by running an anti-John McCain ad that shows U.S. soldiers being blown up.
After the new ad’s voice-over castigated McCain for suggesting that the United States may stay in Iraq for “maybe 100” years, the footage becomes shocking.
The DNC ad then shows an explosive device detonating near two soldiers standing beside a palm tree. The two soldiers disappear in an explosive fireball. The video also shows images of burning vehicles.
You can see the DNC ad Click Here Now http://election.newsmax.com/dnc_100.html

The footage appears similar to film taken by jihadists who videotape IED explosions that kill American combat troops. The jihadists place the video on the internet to tout their "kill Americans" campaign success. The Army estimates that more than 6,500 jihadist Web sites promote violence against America and American troops.
Many U.S. media outlets have refused to air excerpts from such videos for several reasons - including out of respect of the servicemen and women depicted in the videos.
The DNC apparently does not agree. Calls to the DNC for comment and for information about the footage went unreturned.
The Republican National Committee harshly criticized the ad, stating: “It is becoming clear that [DNC Chairman] Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee will say and do anything to defeat John McCain.” The RNC demanded that the ad be stopped.
The McCain campaign and the RNC contend that the Democrats have been distorting McCain’s comment that the United States may remain in Iraq for "maybe 100” years. Such critics say McCain’s comments have been taken out of context.
The Associated Press reported that he actually went on to say:
“As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed, it's fine with me, and I hope it would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where al-Qaida is training, recruiting, equipping and motivating people every single day."
Republicans also allege that the DNC violates federal election law by coordinating its ad campaign with the Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton campaigns.
The RNC counsel has sent letters to the heads of NBC, CNN, and MSNBC demanding the ad be pulled.

BBC censors criticism of jihad-linked group

Tablighi Jamaat member John Walker Lindh

Britain is another once-great nation flushing itself down the Islamic toilet. The good 'ol BEEB has decided that there is no free speech in Britain if the BEEB happens to think something is offensive to Islam. This is just one more instance of absolute, abject cowardice in the face of Islamic Jihad.

FROM JIHAD WATCH.ORG:

BBC censors criticism of jihad-linked group

"There is...evidence that Tablighi Jamaat directly recruits for terrorist organizations."

How dare you imply they're not moderate!
"BBC ‘censored Christian party broadcast,’" by Andrew Norfolk for the Times (thanks to all who sent this in):
The BBC is facing a High Court challenge over its decision to censor a party political broadcast in the run-up to Thursday’s local elections.
A Christian party has begun legal action after the corporation insisted on changes to a short film in which the party voiced opposition to the building of Europe’s biggest mosque next to the site of the 2012 Olympics.
Tablighi Jamaat, the Islamic missionary group behind the £75 million Abbey Mills mosque, opposes inter-faith dialogue and preaches that non-Muslims are an evil and corrupting influence. One of its British advocates has said that it aims to rescue Muslims from the culture and civilisation of Jews and Christians by creating “such hatred for their ways as human beings have for urine and excreta”.
The Christian Choice election broadcast would have described Tablighi Jamaat as “a separatist Islamic group” before welcoming that some “moderate Muslims” were opposed to the mosque complex.
Alan Craig, the party’s candidate in the London mayoral election, also on Thursday, said that he was forced to change the wording at the insistence of lawyers at the BBC and ITV, which will also feature in the court action.
The BBC refused to accept “separatist” — the corporation asked for “controversial” instead — and barred the use of “moderate Muslims” because the phrase implied that Tablighi Jamaat was less than moderate.
ITV went a step farther, demanding that the adjective “controversial” be used merely to describe the planned mosque and not the group itself....

Syrian pol: "I am optimistic that within ten years, Israel will come to its end"

The world is watching something never before seen: The suicide of an entire nation. Israel continues down the path to oblivion by it's refusal to take the necessary steps to protect itself from it's Muslim neighbors.

Time after time Arab and Iranian leaders say flat out that they will destroy Israel. Just what part of "I'll kill you" don't the Israelis understand?

FROM JIHAD WATCH.ORG:

Syrian pol: "I am optimistic that within ten years, Israel will come to its end"

As Israel contemplates giving up the Golan Heights to Syria, Syria contemplates the total destruction of Israel.
"Syrian Minister Riyad Na'san Al-Agha Justifies the Persecution of Syrian Intellectuals and Declares: I Am Optimistic that Israel Will Come to an End within 10 Years," from MEMRI
(thanks to Joel):

Following are excerpts from an interview with Syrian Minister of Culture Riyad Na'san al-Agha, which aired on Al-Hiwar on April 19, 2008.
[...]
Interviewer: In five years, the government might call Israel and say: Let's put an end to this.
Riyad Na'san al-Agha: I will be the first they have to take to jail.
Interviewer: Will we be saying that the president maintained "dubious relations" with Israel?
Riyad Na'san al-Agha: Those who will want to do this, God forbid, will have to get rid of me and many others like me beforehand.
[...]
Imagine the Arab nation without those resistance fighters. By Allah, it is not worth being stepped on.
[...]
Blair is gone, Bush will be gone, and so on...
Interviewer: But in the meantime, people are dying, entire generations...
Riyad Na'san al-Agha: That's our fate. We are talking about an eternal conflict. I am not optimistic that it will be resolved any time soon, but by Allah, they suffer more than us. Here in Syria, the people are united. Sheik Hassan [Nasrallah] himself said that in 2006, the decision of whether Syria should join the war was left to him. It's not me who says this. He said so. We were ready to join the war. This does not mean tgat we will necessarily win. We might be defeated, but at least we will prove that we exist. I am optimistic that within ten years, Israel will come to its end.
Interviewer: But the pressure on Syria is continuously increasing, and the price you might pay is the economic exhaustion of your people.
Riyad Na'san al-Agha: So what if they get exhausted?...

An Anatomy of Surrender

This article explores in great depth the scope of Western acceptance of Islamic demands in just about every area of society. We need to WAKE UP NOW and stop the Islamification of the West.

FROM CITY-JOURNAL.ORG:

Bruce Bawer
An Anatomy of Surrender

Motivated by fear and multiculturalism, too many Westerners are acquiescing to creeping sharia.

Spring 2008
Islam divides the world into two parts. The part governed by sharia, or Islamic law, is called the Dar al-Islam, or House of Submission. Everything else is the Dar al-Harb, or House of War, so called because it will take war—holy war, jihad—to bring it into the House of Submission. Over the centuries, this jihad has taken a variety of forms. Two centuries ago, for instance, Muslim pirates from North Africa captured ships and enslaved their crews, leading the U.S. to fight the Barbary Wars of 1801–05 and 1815. In recent decades, the jihadists’ weapon of choice has usually been the terrorist’s bomb; the use of planes as missiles on 9/11 was a variant of this method.

What has not been widely recognized is that the Ayatollah Khomeini’s 1989 fatwa against Satanic Verses author Salman Rushdie introduced a new kind of jihad. Instead of assaulting Western ships or buildings, Khomeini took aim at a fundamental Western freedom: freedom of speech. In recent years, other Islamists have joined this crusade, seeking to undermine Western societies’ basic liberties and extend sharia within those societies.
The cultural jihadists have enjoyed disturbing success. Two events in particular—the 2004 assassination in Amsterdam of Theo van Gogh in retaliation for his film about Islam’s oppression of women, and the global wave of riots, murders, and vandalism that followed a Danish newspaper’s 2005 publication of cartoons satirizing Mohammed—have had a massive ripple effect throughout the West. Motivated variously, and doubtless sometimes simultaneously, by fear, misguided sympathy, and multicultural ideology—which teaches us to belittle our freedoms and to genuflect to non-Western cultures, however repressive—people at every level of Western society, but especially elites, have allowed concerns about what fundamentalist Muslims will feel, think, or do to influence their actions and expressions. These Westerners have begun, in other words, to internalize the strictures of sharia, and thus implicitly to accept the deferential status of dhimmis—infidels living in Muslim societies.

Call it a cultural surrender. The House of War is slowly—or not so slowly, in Europe’s case—being absorbed into the House of Submission.

The Western media are in the driver’s seat on this road to sharia. Often their approach is to argue that we’re the bad guys. After the late Dutch sociologist-turned-politician Pim Fortuyn sounded the alarm about the danger that Europe’s Islamization posed to democracy, elite journalists labeled him a threat. A New York Times headline described him as marching the dutch to the right. Dutch newspapers Het Parool and De Volkskrant compared him with Mussolini; Trouw likened him to Hitler. The man (a multiculturalist, not a Muslim) who murdered him in May 2002 seemed to echo such verdicts when explaining his motive: Fortuyn’s views on Islam, the killer insisted, were “dangerous.”
Perhaps no Western media outlet has exhibited this habit of moral inversion more regularly than the BBC. In 2006, to take a typical example, Manchester’s top imam told psychotherapist John Casson that he supported the death penalty for homosexuality. Casson expressed shock—and the BBC, in a dispatch headlined imam accused of “gay death” slur, spun the controversy as an effort by Casson to discredit Islam. The BBC concluded its story with comments from an Islamic Human Rights Commission spokesman, who equated Muslim attitudes toward homosexuality with those of “other orthodox religions, such as Catholicism” and complained that focusing on the issue was “part of demonizing Muslims.”

In June 2005, the BBC aired the documentary Don’t Panic, I’m Islamic, which sought to portray concerns about Islamic radicalism as overblown. This “stunning whitewash of radical Islam,” as Little Green Footballs blogger Charles Johnson put it, “helped keep the British public fast asleep, a few weeks before the bombs went off in London subways and buses” in July 2005. In December 2007, it emerged that five of the documentary’s subjects, served up on the show as examples of innocuous Muslims-next-door, had been charged in those terrorist attacks—and that BBC producers, though aware of their involvement after the attacks took place, had not reported important information about them to the police.
Press acquiescence to Muslim demands and threats is endemic. When the Mohammed cartoons—published in September 2005 by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten to defy rising self-censorship after van Gogh’s murder—were answered by worldwide violence, only one major American newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer, joined such European dailies as Die Welt and El País in reprinting them as a gesture of free-speech solidarity. Editors who refused to run the images claimed that their motive was multicultural respect for Islam. Critic Christopher Hitchens believed otherwise, writing that he “knew quite a number of the editors concerned and can say for a certainty that the chief motive for ‘restraint’ was simple fear.” Exemplifying the new dhimmitude, whatever its motivation, was Norway’s leading cartoonist, Finn Graff, who had often depicted Israelis as Nazis, but who now vowed not to draw anything that might provoke Muslim wrath. (On a positive note, this February, over a dozen Danish newspapers, joined by a number of other papers around the world, reprinted one of the original cartoons as a free-speech gesture after the arrest of three people accused of plotting to kill the artist.)
Last year brought another cartoon crisis—this time over Swedish artist Lars Vilks’s drawings of Mohammed as a dog, which ambassadors from Muslim countries used as an excuse to demand speech limits in Sweden. CNN reporter Paula Newton suggested that perhaps “Vilks should have known better” because of the Jyllands-Posten incident—as if people who make art should naturally take their marching orders from people who make death threats. Meanwhile, The Economist depicted Vilks as an eccentric who shouldn’t be taken “too seriously” and noted approvingly that Sweden’s prime minister, unlike Denmark’s, invited the ambassadors “in for a chat.”

The elite media regularly underreport fundamentalist Muslim misbehavior or obfuscate its true nature. After the knighting of Rushdie in 2007 unleashed yet another wave of international Islamist mayhem, Tim Rutten wrote in the Los Angeles Times: “If you’re wondering why you haven’t been able to follow all the columns and editorials in the American press denouncing all this homicidal nonsense, it’s because there haven’t been any.” Or consider the riots that gripped immigrant suburbs in France in the autumn of 2005. These uprisings were largely assertions of Muslim authority over Muslim neighborhoods, and thus clearly jihadist in character. Yet weeks passed before many American press outlets mentioned them—and when they did, they de-emphasized the rioters’ Muslim identity (few cited the cries of “Allahu akbar,” for instance). Instead, they described the violence as an outburst of frustration over economic injustice.
When polls and studies of Muslims appear, the media often spin the results absurdly or drop them down the memory hole after a single news cycle. Journalists celebrated the results of a 2007 Pew poll showing that 80 percent of American Muslims aged 18 to 29 said that they opposed suicide bombing—even though the flip side, and the real story, was that a double-digit percentage of young American Muslims admitted that they supported it. u.s. muslims assimilated, opposed to extremism, the Washington Post rejoiced, echoing USA Today’s american muslims reject extremes. A 2006 Daily Telegraph survey showed that 40 percent of British Muslims wanted sharia in Britain—yet British reporters often write as though only a minuscule minority embraced such views.

After each major terrorist act since 9/11, the press has dutifully published stories about Western Muslims fearing an “anti-Muslim backlash”—thus neatly shifting the focus from Islamists’ real acts of violence to non-Muslims’ imaginary ones. (These backlashes, of course, never materialize.) While books by Islam experts like Bat Ye’or and Robert Spencer, who tell difficult truths about jihad and sharia, go unreviewed in newspapers like the New York Times, the elite press legitimizes thinkers like Karen Armstrong and John Esposito, whose sugarcoated representations of Islam should have been discredited for all time by 9/11. The Times described Armstrong’s hagiography of Mohammed as “a good place to start” learning about Islam; in July 2007, the Washington Post headlined a piece by Esposito want to understand islam? start here.
Mainstream outlets have also served up anodyne portraits of fundamentalist Muslim life. Witness Andrea Elliott’s affectionate three-part profile of a Brooklyn imam, which appeared in the New York Times in March 2006. Elliott and the Times sought to portray Reda Shata as a heroic bridge builder between two cultures, leaving readers with the comforting belief that the growth of Islam in America was not only harmless but positive, even beautiful. Though it emerged in passing that Shata didn’t speak English, refused to shake women’s hands, wanted to forbid music, and supported Hamas and suicide bombing, Elliott did her best to downplay such unpleasant details; instead, she focused on sympathetic personal particulars. “Islam came to him softly, in the rhythms of his grandmother’s voice”; “Mr. Shata discovered love 15 years ago. . . . ‘She entered my heart,‘ said the imam.” Elliott’s saccharine piece won a Pulitzer Prize. When Middle East scholar Daniel Pipes pointed out that Shata was obviously an Islamist, a writer for the Columbia Journalism Review dismissed Pipes as “right-wing” and insisted that Shata was “very moderate.”

So it goes in this upside-down, not-so-brave new media world: those who, if given the power, would subjugate infidels, oppress women, and execute apostates and homosexuals are “moderate” (a moderate, these days, apparently being anybody who doesn’t have explosives strapped to his body), while those who dare to call a spade a spade are “Islamophobes.”

Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood

Daniel Pipes explores Obama's Muslim background and it's ramifications for the country if he is elected president and why Obama continues to lie about his Muslim backround.

FROM JEWISH WORLD REVIEW.COM:

Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood

By Daniel Pipes

As Barack Obama's candidacy comes under increasing scrutiny, his account of his religious upbringing deserves careful attention for what it tells us about the candidate's integrity.
Obama asserted in December, "I've always been a Christian," and he has adamantly denied ever having been a Muslim. "The only connection I've had to Islam is that my grandfather on my father's side came from that country [Kenya]. But I've never practiced Islam." In February, he claimed: "I have never been a Muslim. … other than my name and the fact that I lived in a populous Muslim country for 4 years when I was a child [Indonesia, 1967-71] I have very little connection to the Islamic religion."

"Always" and "never" leave little room for equivocation. But many biographical facts, culled mainly from the American press, suggest that, when growing up, the Democratic candidate for president both saw himself and was seen as a Muslim.
Obama's Kenyan birth father: In Islam, religion passes from the father to the child. Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. (1936-1982) was a Muslim who named his boy Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Only Muslim children are named "Hussein".

Obama's Indonesian family:
His stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, was also a Muslim. In fact, as Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng explained to Jodi Kantor of the New York Times: "My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim." An Indonesian publication, the Banjarmasin Post reports a former classmate, Rony Amir, recalling that "All the relatives of Barry's father were very devout Muslims."

The Catholic school:
Nedra Pickler of the Associated Press reports that "documents showed he enrolled as a Muslim" while at a Catholic school during first through third grades. Kim Barker of the Chicago Tribune confirms that Obama was "listed as a Muslim on the registration form for the Catholic school." A blogger who goes by "An American Expat in Southeast Asia" found that "Barack Hussein Obama was registered under the name 'Barry Soetoro' serial number 203 and entered the Franciscan Asisi Primary School on 1 January 1968 and sat in class 1B. … Barry's religion was listed as Islam."

The public school:
Paul Watson of the Los Angeles Times learned from Indonesians familiar with Obama when he lived in Jakarta that he "was registered by his family as a Muslim at both schools he attended." Haroon Siddiqui of the Toronto Star visited the Jakarta public school Obama attended and found that "Three of his teachers have said he was enrolled as a Muslim." Although Siddiqui cautions that "With the school records missing, eaten by bugs, one has to rely on people's shifting memories," he cites only one retired teacher, Tine Hahiyari, retracting her earlier certainty about Obama's being registered as a Muslim.

Koran class:
In his autobiography, Dreams of My Father, Obama relates how he got into trouble for making faces during Koranic studies, thereby revealing he was a Muslim, for Indonesian students in his day attended religious classes according to their faith. Indeed, Obama still retains knowledge from that class: Nicholas D. Kristof of the New York Times, reports that Obama "recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them [to Kristof] with a first-rate accent."

Mosque attendance:
Obama's half-sister recalled that the family attended the mosque "for big communal events." Watson learned from childhood friends that "Obama sometimes went to Friday prayers at the local mosque." Barker found that "Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers." One Indonesia friend, Zulfin Adi, states that Obama "was Muslim. He went to the mosque. I remember him wearing a sarong" (a garment associated with Muslims).

Piety: Obama himself says that while living in Indonesia, a Muslim country, he "didn't practice [Islam]," implicitly acknowledging a Muslim identity. Indonesians differ in their memories of him. One, Rony Amir, describes Obama as "previously quite religious in Islam."
Obama's having been born and raised a Muslim and having left the faith to become a Christian make him neither more nor less qualified to become president of the United States. But if he was born and raised a Muslim and is now hiding that fact, this points to a major deceit, a fundamental misrepresentation about himself that has profound implications about his character and his suitability as president.

Father confronted by axe-wielding burglars

This is not my usual type of item, but it illustrates just how dependant on government people are these days. If this is the way Western society is moving, then there will be nothing to stop the Islamification that is coming like a freight train. This is what can be expected when citizens allow their government to disarm them. These folks are fortunate that the home invaders were only looking for property to steal.

FROM THE DAILYMAIL.CO.UK:

Father confronted by axe-wielding burglars - but police are too busy to turn up for THREE hours
By DAVID WILKES -
Hiding upstairs with his terrified partner and their two young children as a gang of axe-wielding burglars emptied his living room, Mathew Sims wasted no time in making a desperate 999 call to police.
But instead of the immediate response he expected, he was flabbergasted to be told: 'We're too busy to help.'
Within minutes the ruthless burglars were speeding from the scene in two cars with their haul of stolen property.

But it was three hours before officers finally turned up at the family's home in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, and by then all they could do was take statements.
Yesterday the force apologised for the appalling delay and an investigation was underway into the lack of response.
Furious Mr Sims, 24, who lives a mile from the nearest police station, said: "I told the police I could have had my head cut off - but still no-one came.
"We need to feel safe in our home. It was a really, really bad experience that you never think will happen to you. We couldn't sleep afterwards, it took a couple of days to feel okay."
His partner Sarah Barham, 24, said: "It's absolutely ridiculous that no-one came. They should have responded and made us a priority, not turn up three hours later.
"I'm just left thinking: 'Why us?' I'm scared to go to the shops on my own now. I keep thinking what would have happened if Mat hadn't been here."
Nottingham, having desperately tried to live down its image as Gun City, was recently named Britain's burglary capital.
It had house burglary levels which were 63 per cent above the national average, according to a league table compiled from insurance records of areas where a homeowner is most likely to suffer the misery of a break-in.
The burglars struck at Mr Sims' home on April 22. The ordeal began at around 11.15pm when he heard his dog barking and then noticed the light in his kitchen flicker on.
He pushed open the door and was horrified to find himself confronted by eight balaclava-clad intruders, one of them brandishing an axe.
He immediately slammed the door shut again and was hit by flying glass as the lead raider swung the weapon at him, smashing the pane.
Mr Sims ran upstairs to Miss Barham and their children Lewis, six, and Macey, five, and shut them in a bedroom and held the door shut as the burglars helped themselves.

He said: "Thankfully, the men didn't come upstairs, but I was worried about my children's safety.
"The minute we knew these people were in the house we rang the police, but they said it would be at least half an hour before they could come out."
The burglars escaped with items including a PlayStation 3, a sat-nav, a wireless internet router, mobile phones and Miss Barham's bag, keys and bank cards.
Mr Sims said: "No-one from the police had turned up half an hour later, and when we rang again they said there was no-one they could send.
"They said officers around the area were looking for the cars we had described and anyone suspicious, but we didn't see one police car come past.
"Then we had a call to say no-one could come out to see us that night and we should get our heads down and someone would be there in the morning.
"We were kicking up a fuss, asking why no-one could come when we had had people in our house. I ended up putting the phone down in frustration."
Finally, at 2.30am officers arrived at the house to take brief statements. The next day the couple got a call from Chief Inspector Andy Burton, head of Nottinghamshire police's Policy, Performance and Strategy within Demand Management department.
Jobless Mr Sims said: "He said he had been listening to the tapes of the call and was disgusted by how we didn't have an immediate response.
"We told him we were scared and worried. We have been left feeling that if something like this should happen again there could be another delay."
Yesterday Chief Inspector Burton said in a statement: "On this occasion the way control room staff dealt with this incident fell way short of the standard I expect.
"The force has apologised to the family by way of letter and I personally have contacted the family this morning.
"An investigation is being carried to find out why there was not an immediate response and any findings will be shared with the family."
Chief Inspector Burton has arranged to meet with the family later this week.

FROM ATLASSHRUGS:
The media and the moonbats rub their hands in diabolical glee when US military death milestones approach or are reached. The media wring their hands, shake their heads and prepare news segments in hot anticipation of the next American casualty............. and the peace thugs walk through the streets with faux coffins and burn Bush effigies, making hay out of the deaths of great Americans fighting the evil forces of the global jihad.

A terrible milestone was reached today of monumental import but you won't see or hear about it anywhere but here (and other blogs I suspect.) In newsrooms and network news offices, crickets chirp.

Indonesia: Muslim mob chanting "Kill, kill" torches mosque of heretical Islamic sect

On the one hand, this is a reprehensible act in humanitarian terms. But at the same time it gives the West hope that Islam will continue to attack itself, similar to a gut-shot hyena which will attack its own entrails. As long as Islam continues to be divided against itself, it's threat against the rest of humanity will remain manageable.

This also illustrates just how hide bound and fanatical some Islamic sects are. They are quite happy to kill other Muslims over disagreements on interpretation of the Koran.

FROM JIHADWATCH.ORG:

Indonesia: Muslim mob chanting "Kill, kill" torches mosque of heretical Islamic sect

The Ahmadis are also considered heretical because they do not embrace the idea of violent jihad. Anyway, here is yet another opportunity for all the self-professed Islamic pluralists in the West to denounce this atrocity, to reject the traditional Islamic death penalty for heretics, and to show in deed as well as word that they reject not only violent coercion in religious matters, but also any idea of Islamic supremacism and the subjugation of nonbelievers.
But don't hold your breath. And the silence of Hooper, al-Marayati, and all the rest will once again be indicative, but few in government, law enforcement or media will pick up on what exactly it indicates.

"Indonesians torch Muslim sect's mosque," by Niniek Karmini for Associated Press (thanks to all who sent this in):
Hundreds of protesters chanting "Kill, kill" set fire Monday to an Indonesian mosque belonging to a Muslim sect they claim is heretical, police said.
A policeman was wounded in the head when the crowd stoned the mosque in West Java province before setting it ablaze, said police spokesman Col. Dade Ahmad. Several suspects were taken in for questioning.
The attack was the latest targeting the Ahmadiyah sect in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation.

Most mainstream Muslims consider Ahmadiyah heretical because it does not consider Muhammad to be the final prophet. The sect was founded at the end of the 19th century in Pakistan. (emphasis mine - ed.)

Last week, a team of prosecutors, religious scholars and government officials said the sect "had deviated from Islamic principles" and recommended it be outlawed. There have been several acts of vandalism targeting Ahmadiyah since then.
About 300 people torched the mosque and destroyed an Islamic school building inside the Ahmadiyah compound in Sukabumi town just after midnight. Many sect members have since fled the area, seeking refuge with friends and relatives.
"We heard the attackers chanting 'Burn, burn' and 'Kill, kill,'" said Zaki Firdaus, one of the sect's members. "It was horrifying."..

Ann Coulter: I Have No Opinion

Ann Coulter: I have no opinion". Now there's a headline.

Julia Gorin uses Ann Coulter's "I have no opinion" reply to questions about Kosovo and the Ukraine to again explain the complex and almost unbelievable desire of the US and EU to create a radical Muslim state in Europe.

While the situation is complex and you "can't tell the players without a scorecard", Julia goes into the necessary detail and provides voluminous examples of the Islamic invasion of the Kosovo region. If you follow the links in this article, you will gain an accurate picture of the insanity of Western support for the Islamification of Kosovo.

Now, I'm waiting for Ann Coulter's reply.

FROM POLITICALMAVINS.COM:

Ann Coulter: I Have No Opinion

By Julia Gorin (bio)
Penn State’s student newspaper The Daily Collegian reported on Ann Coulter’s hour-long speech there this month:
For possibly the first time in her career as a conservative commentator, Ann Coulter had nothing to say about a political issue.
“I have no opinion,” she told a student who asked her about Kosovo and Ukraine. “That may be the first time those words have passed my lips.”
During her hour-long speech to a crowd of more than a thousand last night in HUB Alumni Hall, though, Coulter spoke candidly about her opinions on a variety of controversial subjects ranging from the war in Iraq to global warming to terrorism.
The usual, in other words. The easy stuff. And on the easy, day-to-day stuff, every conservative loudmouth in the country has a strong and ready opinion. But on the fact that in the Kosovo giveaway of 2008 we’ve just repeated the Munich surrender of 1938 — nothing.
While Americans can’t be expected to have strong opinions on whether the Ukraine gets an invitation to NATO or not, the Kosovo question is a different story. So let me see if I have this non-opinion on Kosovo straight: The U.S. is aggressively creating another Muslim state in Europe, openly calling for a heightened Islamic presence on the continent, and Ann Coulter has no opinion.

In the case of Kosovo, it’s a Muslim state whose leaders and inhabitants have killed or cleansed most of the Christians (and Muslims who didn’t mind being part of a larger Christian nation) from its borders. But Coulter has no opinion.
In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, investigators flew to Albania after discovering a cell there that was connected to the hijackers — and she has no opinion.
In the weeks before 9/11, six Albanian-American fundamentalists arrived in the Kosovo village of Skenderaj, telling locals that the U.S. would soon be attacked. And Ann Coulter has nothing to say about it. (Not coincidentally, Skenderaj was a stronghold during the 1998-99 war of America’s past and present ally, the KLA.)

Less than a year ago, four out of six jihadists arrested for planning to massacre American soldiers at Ft. Dix were Albanian — the weapons provider among them (Agron Abdullahu) having been sheltered at Ft. Dix during the 1999 resettlement process. And still Ann Coulter has no opinion on whether this kind of behavior deserves American-enforced independence for Abdullahu’s horde. That we fought alongside this former Kosovo sniper in Bill Clinton’s war of aggression is for some reason insignificant to this and all other pundits.
We’re well post-9/11, and George W. Bush has been replicating and completing a strong-arm war of might-makes-right started by Bill Clinton — whom Ann Coulter distrusts and despises — and it elicits a shrug from this opinionist.
After we helped the ultranationalist Albanians with the Kosovo leg of their jihad, they moved on like clockwork to destabilize Macedonia and southern Serbia using the same terrorist provocations they employed in Kosovo, in Macedonia winning U.S. support — but Ann has no opinion.

Bin Laden set his sights on, and traveled throughout, the Balkans in the 90s, meeting with Albanian leaders (as he did with Bosnian ones), and assigning al Qaeda capos to different areas there, including Ayman al-Zawahiri’s brother Mohammed.
Today, America solidifies this radical base for bin Laden, while presiding over the construction of 400 new Saudi- and UAE-financed mosques amid systematic church destruction. But this isn’t significant enough for Ann Coulter to have an opinion on.
The U.S. is redefining the concept of the nation-state along ethnic boundaries, with implications for every region of the globe including Southern California and every other state of the Union that has majority ethnic enclaves, but don’t look to Ann Coulter to have an opinion on that.

The U.S. is dismantling principles of the international order that have guided and protected statecraft for sixty years, which is CURRENTLY being used as a precedent from India to Sri Lanka to Catalonia in Spain to the Galilee in Israel to Quebec to Vermont, but this isn’t opinion-worthy, apparently.
The American-backed “prime minister” of Kosovo oversaw the butchering of civilians for their organs during this war for “independence” and against “genocide” — among countless other creatively brutal exploits by the U.S.-anointed KLA — but Ann Coulter doesn’t have an opinion on that either.

Of course, “I have no opinion on that” sums up the negligence of the whole of American punditry, and explains why we’ve arrived at this staggering but ignored precipice in history. If even the intelligentsia — both Right and Left — has no opinion on a matter of such grave consequence to the free world, on issues as vital as “the sovereignty of countries with minority populations and the challenges to a basic principle of international law “, what hope is there for the rest of the country?

Busy trying to out-clever one another on the election-oriented petty issue du jour, the commentators haven’t noticed that the bottom has just fallen out from under Western civilization before their very eyes, as the international order is dismantled under their noses.
Once again, as in 2001 when we decided to back Albanian rebels against the Westward-facing, multi-ethnic nation of Macedonia — which took in 400,000 Albanian “refugees” from Kosovo — we see that it’s possible for America to be at war without its public or the public’s “hard-nosed” messengers noticing. Indeed, if our war on behalf of Muslims is against the expendable Slavs. it’s more than possible. It’s applauded.
Never do our “thinkers” stop to ask: Why all the sweating by world powers — foremost by the U.S. — over such a small, seemingly insignificant Balkan province? Why the absolutist approach (e.g. Condi Rice: “Kosovo must be independent”; Nicholas Burns: “Independence is the only solution…”)? After all, everyone seemed to get the joke last June when George W. Bush found his only friend on the planet in Albania. The answer is that the United States of America is being blackmailed in Kosovo. The U.S., bitten by the Balkan bug, today serves as a mafia enforcer for the criminal gang that is Greater Albania. Such is the position we have allowed ourselves to be placed in.

Whether you like her or not, Ann Coulter is considered an informed American. Her “no opinion” on Kosovo speaks volumes about how much the rest of our populace knows or cares about this underappreciated catalyst for the demise of Western values and civilization. I’m reminded of the time I pitched a book project to a conservative imprint at a major publishing house, about the fallout and implications of America’s taking all the wrong sides in the Yugoslav wars. The editor replied, “Try a European publisher. Americans aren’t interested in other countries.”

Hamas disrupts fuel supplies to Gaza

More barbaric and cynical manipulation of hundreds of thousands of fellow Muslims by Hamas. Hamas and the PA both use their civilian populations to maintain power and keep the money flowing from Israel and idiotic Western governments.

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST:

Hamas disrupts fuel supplies to Gaza

Hamas militiamen in the Gaza Strip on Sunday attacked fuel trucks headed toward the Nahal Oz border crossing, forcing them to turn back, sources in the Palestinian Petroleum Authority said.
The fuel was supposed to go to the UN Relief and Works Agency [UNRWA] and hospitals in the Gaza Strip, the sources said.
"Dozens of Hamas militiamen hurled stones and opened fire at the trucks," the sources added. "The trucks were on their way to receive fuel supplied by Israel. The drivers were forced to turn back. Some of them had their windshields smashed."
The Palestinian Petroleum Authority reached an agreement with Israel over the weekend to receive 250,000 liters of fuel after UNRWA complained that it did not have enough fuel to distribute food aid to more than 500,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Authority Health Ministry also accused Hamas of blocking fuel supplies to hospitals and clinics in the Gaza Strip. The ministry said Hamas gunmen opened fire at a number of trucks that were trying to transfer fuel to the hospitals and clinics.
Eyewitnesses in Gaza City said that at least on four occasions over the past few weeks, Hamas militiamen confiscated trucks loaded with fuel shortly as they were on their way from Nahal Oz to the city.
They added that the fuel supplies were taken to Hamas-controlled security installations throughout the city.
"Hamas is taking the fuel for it the vehicles of is leaders and security forces," the eyewitnesses said. "Because of Hamas's actions, some hospitals have been forced to stop the work of ambulances and generators."
PA officials in Ramallah said Hamas's measures were aimed at creating a crisis in the Gaza Strip with the hope that the international community would intervene and force Israel to reopen the border crossings.
"As far as we know, there is enough fuel reaching the Gaza Strip," the officials said. "But Hamas's measures are aimed at creating a crisis. Hamas is either stealing or blocking most of the fuel supplies."
They pointed out that last week Hamas dispatched hundreds of its supporters to Nahal Oz to block the fuel supplies from Israel. Hamas claimed that the protest was organized by farmers and fishermen demanding an end to the blockade on the Gaza Strip.
The officials also noted that the shortage in fuel supplies has created a high-priced black market for individuals and institutions.
UNRWA workers admitted over the weekend that Hamas had prevented some fuel trucks from entering the Gaza Strip.
Hamas has also been exerting pressure on the Gaza Petrol Station Owners Association to close down their businesses so as to aggravate the crisis. Some of the station owners and workers said they were afraid to return to work after receiving death threats from Hamas militiamen and ordinary residents desperate to purchase gas and diesel for their vehicles.

Girl, 17, killed in Iraq for loving a British soldier

It would seem, Muslim protests aside, that honor killings are deeply intenched in Islam. Now we have a case from Iraq. Wherever Muslims go, Islamic practices come with them, honor killings included.

FROM INDIPENDANT.CO.UK:

Girl, 17, killed in Iraq for loving a British soldier
By Sadie Gray
Sunday, 27 April 2008
A 17-year-old Iraqi girl was murdered by her father in an honour killing after falling in love with a British soldier she met while working on an aid programme in Basra, it has been claimed.
Rand Abdel-Qader was stamped upon, suffocated and stabbed by her father, then given an unceremonious burial to emphasise her disgrace. Police released her father without charge two hours after his arrest.
"Not much can be done when we have an honour killing case," said Sergeant Ali Jabbar of Basra police. "You are in a Muslim society and women should live under religious laws. The father has very good contacts inside the Basra government and it wasn't hard for him to be released and what he did to be forgotten."
A total of 47 young women died in honour killings in the city last year, Basra Security Committee told an investigation into Ms Abdel-Qader's case by The Observer. This is believed to be the only case of an honour killing involving a British soldier.
The MoD had no official advice for troops on how to behave with Iraqi women. The serviceman involved would not have been told that any relationship with her could put her life at risk, the paper said.
Ms Abdel-Qader, a student of English at Basra University, had struck up a friendship with a 22-year-old British infantryman known only as Paul five months before her murder in March.
She was believed to have last seen him in January, and the pair, whose relationship was innocent, only ever met while working at the aid station. The soldier was helping deliver relief to displaced families as part of his regimental duties. Ms Abdel-Qader was a volunteer worker.
On the day her father, Abdel-Qader Ali, was told of their friendship by a friend, he accused her of having an affair with a British soldier and killed her in front of his wife, Leila Hussain, and their sons.
"I screamed and called out for her two brothers so they could get their father away from her. But when he told them the reason, instead of saving her they helped him end her life," Ms Hussain said. She then left her husband and has since divorced him. She has received threats from her husband's family and is in hiding. She now works for an organisation campaigning against honour killings.

Fitzgerald: Criminality or jihad?

Hugh Fitzgerald defines the difference between simple criminality and Islamic terrorism. For Westerners to consider global jihad to be no more than simple criminal activity is the height of….. who knows what, stupidity?, cowardice?, treason? or some combination? Whatever the reasons, anything but hard analysis and full understanding of the magnitude of the problem is inadequate to deal with the threat.

FROM JIHADWATCH.ORG:

Fitzgerald: Criminality or jihad?
"I think this is just criminality, fair and square. We should just call them criminals. You want to call them terrorist criminals, fine," he said. "But adding the word 'Muslim' or 'Islamic' certainly doesn't help our cause as Americans. It's counterproductive. It paints an entire community of believers, 1.2 billion in total, in a very negative way. And certainly that's not something that we want to do." -- from this article

Criminality is the work of individuals, who break the law because they feel like it. It is prompted not by ideology, but rather by what has prompted criminal activity since the beginning of time.
Terrorism by Muslims is quite different. It can be the act of a collective, of Muslims acting in concert, and supported financially and morally by other Muslims who may prefer to participate in violent Jihad indirectly -- the better, for example, to participate in other, non-violent, but just as dangerous and possibly more effective methods of Jihad to remove all obstacles to the spread, and dominance, of Islam. Where an individual Muslim may be acting, he is doing so not on his own behalf, not to enrich himself, but to further what he has learned -- and learned from the texts, not mistranslated and not misunderstood, of Islam itself: Quran, Hadith, and Sira.

Furthermore, it is important that Infidels understand that they are having war made upon them, and that the war is not limited to what non-Muslims correctly identify as "terrorism." Rather, many or most Muslims are easily persuaded that it is not terrorism at all, but rather a form of qitaal, or combat, simply updated to meet modern conditions, where the Infidels have military superiority -- so unfair! -- and bombs in restaurants and on busses and planes smashed into buildings is merely a form of "equalizing," of leveling the grimmest of playing-fields.
It is important to use the phrase "Islamic terrorism," if the only alternative is "terrorism." But it would be most helpful to speak and write of Jihad, to explain what Jihad means -- what it means and has meant to Muslims over the past 1350 years, and to quickly get over the ludicrous business of those who pretend the word's main meaning is something about an interior struggle to maintain a virtuous life, or somesuch variant.
Why is it important to use the word "Jihad"? Because emphasis, exaggerated emphasis, on "terrorism" makes people pay no attention to much more effective and dangerous instruments of Jihad -- the Money Weapon, campaigns of Da'wa aimed at the psychically and economically marginal, and demographic conquest. The latter is especially worrisome. Consider the Netherlands, where there were 1,500 Muslims in 1960, 15,000 in 1970, 800,000 in 2004, and over a million today.

It is unfortunate that none of the political leaders in the West, and few in the press, radio, television, feel they have a responsibility to learn the contents of Islam, or to learn something of the history of Islamic conquest, and subjugation of non-Muslims, over the past 1350 years. A great deal could be learned. It requires some effort and some time, and nowadays how many, in the class of people whose responsibility it is to protect and instruct us, would take that time, and make that effort?

The answer is: very few.

And we will all pay. We have already paid in the countries of Western Europe -- in Great Britain and France, in Germany and Spain, in Belgium and Italy and the Netherlands and Denmark and Norway and Sweden. We have all paid and will be grimly paying for the fact that the political and media elites were so criminally negligent over the past 35 years as Muslim immigrants by the millions were allowed in and given every conceivable benefit, and allowed to build mosques and madrasas. They were allowed to settle in without anyone questioning what this meant, what Islam was all about, and whether or not the "problems" -- as they are demurely called -- with Muslim migrants were merely, as some continue to pretend, the same problems that all immigrants experience or present, or whether there was something about that "problem" that had to do with the nature of Islam as a Total Belief-System. That Total Belief-System is inculcated with a brainwashing, and reinforced at every level, in states, societies, communities, even families suffused with Islam. That explains why, in every Infidel land, no matter what its makeup or what its politics or what the attitude of its citizens, the same problems are posed by one particular group of immigrants and by no other group -- not by Chinese, Hindus, Vietnamese Buddhists, not by Caribbean blacks, nor by non-Muslim blacks from sub-Saharan Africa, not by Mexicans, not by Central Americans, not by Andean Indians, not by any group at all. But they are posed by Muslims, to the extent that they take their Islam seriously, wherever they come from.

And that is the fix that Western Europe, and therefore the historic West, is now in. It was a problem that, had the handful of cassandras -- see for example the writings of Jacques Ellul -- been heeded, could have been avoided. Entirely manageable once, it is manageable -- with great difficulty – today.

But it is manageable only if Muslim migration is halted, and funds from Saudi Arabia and other rich Arab states are prevented from being used to build up a fifth column within the Infidel lands through mosques, madrasas, propaganda, and armies of Western hirelings, some of them merely venal, some of them something worse, all of them traitors to the West, who deserve to be seen, and to be treated, as we would have treated those who were in the pay of Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia.

Uni draws more fire over Saudi cash

The Saudi Wahhabi attempts to infiltrate universities around the world and install Muslin centers goes on pretty much un-challenged. However there is a bit of good news from Australia where Judge Wall is calling out Griffith University for becoming a hotbed of Wahhabi radicalism and a stooge of the Saudis. The Wahhabis tactic of donating huge sums of money in order to place anti-western Muslim centers on college campuses is another means of attacking the West. In the long term, this tactic may be one of the more insidious as it grooms students to accept Islamic practices as "normal" and so reduces resistance to the Islamification of the West.

FROM THE AUSTRALIAN.NEWS.COM:

Uni draws more fire over Saudi cash

GRIFFITH University's attempts to justify accepting large donations from the Saudi Government by citing similar arrangements at Oxford and Harvard have been undermined by revelations British and American authorities have begun examining the growing influence of Muslim benefactors on tertiary institutions.

Britain's MI5 director-general, Jonathan Evans, reportedly told the Brown Government this month that the Saudi Government's multi-million-dollar donations to universities, along with other funds from Muslim organisations in countries such as Pakistan, had led to a "dangerous increase in the spread ofextremism in leading university campuses".
The warning came just days after the Higher Education Funding Council for England held a special meeting to confront fears Saudi donations were unduly influencing universities.
And the US Congress is also examining Saudi donations to American colleges.
Security expert Anthony Bergin, from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, yesterday warned Australian universities against diving for foreign handouts without properly considering the donor's motives.
"I'd put a fair amount of weight on the statement of the head of the MI5 that they're concerned about what degree of influence this sort of funding poses," he told The Australian.
"And I think, frankly, it would be naive to think that the (Saudis) would not want something in return for their donation. It would be a bit odd if they gave the money and said, 'Our first project is looking at human rights in downtown Riyadh'."
Dr Bergin said local national security agencies were closely monitoring foreign funds being channelled into Australian universities: "Of course, they're focused on these things."
As reported in The Australian yesterday, Griffith vice-chancellor Ian O'Connor has defended a $100,000 Saudi embassy grant received by his university's Islamic Research Unit, saying it was similar to donations received by Georgetown and Harvard in the US and Britain's Oxford.
His defence followed revelations that Griffith pleaded for a $1.37million fund from the Saudi embassy - of which it received only $100,000 - and offered the ambassador a chance to "discuss ways" in which the money could be used.
Professor O'Connor faced further criticism yesterday from a trio of long-time ABC religion journalists and commentators - Rachael Kohn, John Cleary and Stephen Crittenden - who said he had confused the Christian doctrine of Unitarianism with the Islamic sects of Wahhabism and Salafism in an opinion article published in The Australian. Professor O'Connor wrote: "Unitarianism is also known by its critics as Salafism or Wahhabism, after an 18th-century Islamic scholar Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab."
The ABC commentators responded by saying: "Ian O'Connor's equation of Wahhabism and Salafism with Unitarianism is utter nonsense.
"Unitarianism emerged as a liberal Christian movement and gained ground in the early
years of American democracy."
And in an interview with The Australian this week, Queensland District Court judge Clive Wall likened Griffith to Pakistani "madrassas" - renowned for producing extremists - and accused the university of becoming an "agent" through which the Saudi Government would promote radical Islam.
It is understood that Griffith has since invited Judge Wall tovisit the university's Islamic centre and meet its director, Mohamad Abdalla.

Judge Wall - who was appointed to the District Court in 1996 - has accused Griffith of becoming a Saudi stooge.

Scientist: Earth Cooling, Not Warming

I'm putting this up as comic relief from the Jihad. Personally, I've come to the conclusion that global warming is a hoax. Now comes a guy with equally dire predictions that we're really on the cusp of another major ice age.

I just love scientists, they contradict each other in such lofty terms.

FROM NEWSMAX.COM:

Scientist: Earth Cooling, Not Warming

A San Francisco-based scientist says that current solar activity strongly indicates that the earth is on the verge of a new ice age.
"Sorry to ruin the fun, but an ice age cometh," warns Phil Chapman writing in The Australian. Chapman is a geophysicist and astronautical engineer who was the first Australian to become a NASA astronaut.
"The scariest photo I have seen . . . is at www.spaceweather.com, where you will find a real-time image of the sun from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory [SOHO], located in deep space at the equilibrium point between solar and terrestrial gravity," Chapman wrote, adding ominously that "what is scary about the picture is that there is only one tiny sunspot."
"This is where SOHO comes in," he explained. "The sunspot number follows a cycle of somewhat variable length, averaging 11 years. The most recent minimum was in March last year. The new cycle, No. 24, was supposed to start soon after that, with a gradual build-up in sunspot numbers."
That, he writes did not happen. "The first sunspot appeared in January this year and lasted only two days. A tiny spot appeared last Monday but vanished within 24 hours. Another little spot appeared this Monday. Pray that there will be many more, and soon."
Why? According to Chapman "there is a close correlation between variations in the sunspot cycle and earth's climate. The previous time a cycle was delayed like this was in the Dalton Minimum, an especially cold period that lasted several decades from 1790. Northern winters became ferocious: in particular, the rout of Napoleon's Grand Army during the retreat from Moscow in 1812 was at least partly due to the lack of sunspots."
Although the rapid temperature decline in 2007 coincided with the failure of cycle No. 24 to begin on schedule is not proof of a causal connection, Chapman warns that it is cause for concern.
"Disconcerting as it may be to true believers in global warming," he explains, "the average temperature on earth has remained steady or slowly declined during the past decade, despite the continued increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, and now the global temperature is falling precipitously.
"All four agencies that track earth's temperature [the Hadley Climate Research Unit in Britain, the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, the Christy group at the University of Alabama, and Remote Sensing Systems Inc in California] report that it cooled by about 0.7 C in 2007." This, he says is "the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record and it puts us back where we were in 1930. If the temperature does not soon recover, we will have to conclude that global warming is over."
Moreover, he says, there is also plenty of anecdotal evidence that 2007 was exceptionally cold, noting that it snowed in Baghdad for the first time in centuries, the winter in China was simply terrible and the extent of Antarctic sea ice in the austral winter was the greatest on record since James Cook discovered the place in 1770.
Chapman wrote that the global warming dogma should be put aside, "at least to begin contingency planning about what to do if we are moving into another little ice age, similar to the one that lasted from 1100 to 1850."
How bad could a new little ice age be? "Much worse than the previous one and much more harmful than anything warming may do. There are many more people now, and we have become dependent on a few temperate agricultural areas, especially in the U.S. and Canada." Global warming, he added, "would increase agricultural output, but global cooling will decrease it. Millions will starve if we do nothing to prepare for it [such as planning changes in agriculture to compensate], and millions more will die from cold-related diseases."
And grim as that outlook is, Chapman predicts that there is also another possibility, remote but much more serious — the Greenland and Antarctic ice cores and other evidence show that for the past several million years, severe glaciation has almost always afflicted our planet and under normal conditions, most of North America and Europe are buried under about 1.5 km of ice.
This bitterly frigid climate is interrupted occasionally by brief warm interglacials, typically lasting less than 10,000 years.
The present interglacial period we have enjoyed throughout recorded human history, called the Holocene, began 11,000 years ago, so an ice age is overdue. And glaciation can occur quickly: The required decline in global temperature is about 12 C and it can happen in 20 years.
His conclusions: "The next descent into an ice age is inevitable but may not happen for another 1,000 years. On the other hand, it must be noted that the cooling in 2007 was even faster than in typical glacial transitions. If it continued for 20 years, the temperature would be 14 C cooler in 2027."
By then, he writes, "most of the advanced nations would have ceased to exist, vanishing under the ice, and the rest of the world would be faced with a catastrophe beyond imagining."
"All those urging action to curb global warming need to take off the blinders and give some thought to what we should do if we are facing global cooling instead," he writes. "It will be difficult for people to face the truth when their reputations, careers, government grants or hopes for social change depend on global warming, but the fate of civilisation may be at stake."

Representative Sue Myrick's 10 point plan to address the Islamic threat needs bi-partisan support and a similar effort in the Senate. The legislature must provide the Executive and Judicial branches with the legal tools to wage unconditional war with an implacable foe.

FROM TOWNHALL.COM:

Reading U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick's "Wake Up America" agenda -- a 10-point plan targeting potential jihadist infiltration into this country's military, security, educational and financial institutions -- triggers mixed emotions.

First, relief. Finally, there is an elected official who understands the urgency of these festering national security threats. Virtually every other elected U.S. official, up to and including the president (and presidential candidates) has shockingly ignored these same threats. Which leads to a flash of panic: How could our leaders have allowed so many years go by without taking action? Then comes, for me at least, a sense of resolve to help Myrick accomplish her goals by trying to boost a much-needed national conversation about the jihadist threat at home.

The chief cleric of Islamabad's radical Lal Masjid or Red Mosque Maulana Abdul Aziz (L) raises his handcuffed arm as he leaves the anti-terrorist court in Rawalpindi July 21, 2007. The North Carolina Republican's plan warms up with two calls for investigations into those U.S. chaplains, in both the US military and the prison system, who were approved by Abdurahman Alamoudi, the convicted terrorist and Muslim Brotherhood (MB) member now serving 23 years in prison.
(Normal person's reaction: What do you mean an MB member later convicted of terrorism chose our Muslim military and prison chaplains? Tell me more.

Government reaction: Zzzzz.)

In the early 1990s, back when he was something of a Washington power broker, Alamoudi helped set up the Pentagon's Muslim chaplain corps in conjunction with the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America, a Saudi-funded operation that specializes in what you might call Jihadism 101. (Way to be awake, Pentagon.)
Alamoudi went to prison back in 2004, but no one since, in the military or the prisons, seems to have taken a second look at what his prodigies might be preaching (terrorism? treason? whatever?). Myrick plans to check into it herself.
Next, she plans to ask the Government Accounting Office (GAO) to examine the process by which the FBI and Defense Department select Arabic translators. Of particular concern to Myrick -- but not, incredibly, to the FBI or the Defense Department -- is these two agencies' mind-boggling practice of advertising for recruits in what can only be described as pro-terrorism publications.
(Normal person's reaction: What do you mean the government is trolling pro-terrorism sites for Arabic translators? Government reaction: Did someone say something?)

Next on the congresswoman's to-do list is a call for an Internal Revenue Service investigation into the nonprofit status of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Such status restricts "lobbying on behalf of a foreign government," but, as Myrick notes, plenty of foreign funds have found their way into CAIR's coffers to beg the question.
Another Myrick plan is to introduce a bill to make preaching, publishing, distributing or financing calls for the death of Americans or American troops an act of sedition or solicitation of treason. She also wants to ask the GAO to assess total sovereign wealth fund investment in the United States. Such massive funds, owned and controlled by governments, first came to many Americans' attention with the recent purchase by the United Arab Emirates of a large stake in Citigroup; in recent years, however, there has been a spike in such foreign government investment in the United States. This raises concerns (that is, it should raise concerns) about the political goals of such funds -- for example, the spread of Islamic law through "Sharia-compliant banking." Thankfully, Myrick is concerned.

The last few points on the Myrick agenda focus on the appalling lack of reciprocity and common sense in our nation's dealings with Saudi Arabia. Regarding the student visa program that is supposed to bring 21,000 Saudi students to this country, Myrick would attach the condition that the Saudis rewrite their textbooks to omit incitement against non-Muslims; regarding religious visas for imams, she would require of Islamic countries reciprocal visa arrangements for non-Muslim clergy; and regarding U.S. training of Saudi security forces, she would insist that the Saudis prosecute known Al Qaeda financiers and stop releasing repatriated Guantanamo Bay terrorists in exchange for their pledges not to attack ... Saudi Arabia. She will also be introducing a bill to block the sale of state-of-the-art offensive munitions to Saudi Arabia, especially Joint Direct Attack Munitions or JDAMs.

Ambitious? You bet. Myrick deserves an "A" for effort for filling the leadership vacuum left by Republicans and Democrats alike regarding these and other home-front threats. Whether she can accomplish her goals, she will certainly help educate Americans on gravely important issues most of our politicians are too timid to talk about.
