The following fatwa is taken from Islam Q&A. This is regarding the limits of joking and laughter in Islaam. Reading through this fatwa gives off a strong scent of how beautiful, true and detailed this Religion is.
Oh there's a strong scent alright. Of decaying civilization
There is no other Religion like it where it defines the limits for morals and behavior. Joking is something which Allah has connected to the heart; it is both healthy as well as unhealthy, and in some circumstances, evil.
Laughing eeeeeeeeeeevil.
[The more one jokes on a consistent bases, then the more locked up his heart is from the remembrance of Allah â??Azza wa Jall.

The amount of joking should be like the amount of salt in oneâ??s food. The better the Akhlaaq and Adab is of a Muslim, the closer he gets to Allah â??Azza wa Jall. Amongst the Mujaahideen are those whom you will think to be saints because of their great manners and behavior coupled with vastness in knowledge]
