The international Sunni jihadist group Muslim Brotherhood set up numerous U.S. front groups since the 1990s that should be regarded as hostile and a threat to the United States, a Pentagon Joint Staff analyst said.
Stephen Caughlin, a lawyer and military intelligence specialist on the Joint Staff, stated in a Sept. 7 memorandum that many U.S. Muslim groups viewed as moderate by the Justice Department and other government agencies secretly are linked to the pro-terrorist Muslim Brotherhood. The groups also are engaged in influence and deception operations designed to mask their true aims, he said.
Documents entered into evidence in the federal terrorism trial in Dallas of the Holy Land Foundation, a charity charged with illegally funding the Palestinian Hamas terrorist group, reveal new security threats from a network of more than 29 U.S. Muslim groups.

More on the Dearbornistan terrorist caught running around with an AK. This guy is probalby nor acting alone. There must be a massive and immediate effort to root out his accomplices and supporters. Like the German bomb plotters caught a few days ago, these guys need support and training. The main support in the States comes from the Mosques and front groups like CAIR. A third-year medical student -- which fact recalls the recent Doctors' Plot in the UK, and the news that came out at that time of large-scale attempts by jihadists to recruit doctors and other professionals.

"Man with AK-47 assault rifle arrested after leaving Dearborn's Hemlock Park":
DEARBORN - Houssein Zorkot, a 26-year-old Dearborn resident, was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court on multiple felony charges, including carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent — a five-year felony.
Zorkot, a third-year medical student at Wayne State University, was allegedly armed with an AK-47 assault rifle and dressed in black clothing with camouflage paint covering his face when he was arrested Saturday in Hemlock Park.
According to police, Zorkot was observed attempting to leave the park in a black SUV after officers had received reports of a man carrying a rifle in the area. He was placed under arrest and is scheduled to undergo a preliminary examination at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 in 19th District Court.
Zorkot has also been charged with one count of possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and one count of felony firearm. He remains in custody on a $1 million bond (cash, no 10 percent).

But it also demonstrates that Gelowicz did not work in a vacuum; rather, there was significant support for "radical Islam" right in the German town of Ulm. And that seemingly unlikely place only underscores the fact that jihadists can plot and potentially wreak havoc wherever they are allowed to operate unchallenged, both by the larger community, and by fellow Muslims who are all too often assumed to be uniformly "moderate."

GERMAN BOMB PLOT UPDATE 090507

Three suspected Islamic terrorists from an al-Qaida-influenced group nursing “profound hatred of U.S. citizens” were arrested on suspicious of plotting imminent, massive bomb attacks on U.S. facilities in Germany, prosecutors said Wednesday.
German Federal Prosecutor Monika Harms said the three, two of whom were German converts to Islam, had trained at camps in Pakistan run by the Islamic Jihad Union, a group based in Central Asia. They had obtained some 1,500 pounds of hydrogen peroxide for making explosives.
“We were able to succeed in recognizing and preventing the most serious and massive bombings,” Harms told reporters. Harms declined to name specific targets, but said the suspects had an eye on institutions and establishments frequented by Americans in Germany, including discos, pubs and airports. Sudwestfunk televison, citing unnamed security sources in Berlin, reported that Frankfurt international airport and U.S. Ramstein Air Base were among the targets.

Now an Islamist plot to commit mass murder has been halted in Germany. Jihadi are inflitrated through out the non-Muslim world and making more and more attempts at terror attacks. I don't thik trying to label groups as al-Qaeda, Talaban etc. does anything but confuse the basic issue. The basic issue being a global Jihad to impose Sharia everywhere. there are certainly many Islamic sects involved who have put aside their differences in order to overcome western civilization.

'New Al Qaeda plot to blow up planes on September 11' smashed

Police have smashed a suspected al Qaeda terror cell plotting to bomb civilian and military jets.
The force of the planned explosions would have been worse than the train bombings in Madrid and the Tube and bus attacks in London on 7 July, 2005, according to German security sources. Those attacks killed 191 and 52 people respectively.
Three men have been arrested in Germany days before they planned to strike, and bomb-making equipment and explosives are reported to have been seized.
Officials say the attacks would have targeted Frankfurt airport - continental Europe's busiest with dozens of daily flights to Britain - and Ramstein, the USA's largest airbase outside America.
