ROBERT AND GEERT VIDEOS

Here's a six part video interview of Geert Wilders by Robert Spencer. They are two of the foremost authorities on the invasion of the West by islam. While the video quality leaves something to be desired, the information is priceless. Take the time to view all the videos.

What's a drzz?

An outstanding interview with Robert Spencer by the French blog drzz.

FROM JIHADWATCH.ORG:

What's a drzz?

Annika of the French-language blog drzz recently interviewed me, and the interview, in French, is now posted there. And here is an English translation of the interview:

ANNIKA: Fundamentalist Islam claims to find its roots in the Koran, therefore the holy book itself could be said to harbor directives irreconcilable with democratic values, the first amendment, equal rights for men and women, and the judicial system. Do you perceive this as correct?

SPENCER: Certainly the way the Koran has been understood throughout the history of Islam by the vast majority of orthodox commentators and theologians, and by the schools of Islamic jurisprudence and its various sects, harbor directives that are irreconcilable with democratic values, the first amendment, equal rights for men and women, and the judicial system. This enables contemporary jihadists to make the case successfully among peaceful Muslims and cultural Muslims that they represent pure and true Islam, and that if one wants to live Islam authentically, one must do as they do. Muslims who profess not to share their view have not yet formulated an effective Islamic comeback to that claim. It may not be utterly impossible for them to do this, but they have not done it yet, and it would involve an explicit rejection of Koranic literalism in many particulars.

ANNIKA: There has been some effort to prove "irreconcilable differences" between democratic values and the Koran. There were constitutional decrees written by the Turkish court as well as the European court. What else must be done to establish this as truth -- and how?

SPENCER: It will never be established as truth unless the current political and cultural environment changes radically. But if objective truth were the only or primary criterion, which it certainly is not now, one would be able by appeal to various Koranic verses and to the ways they have been understand in Islamic theology and law to establish that Islamic law, Sharia, is an all-encompassing system that has no room for democratic values in many particulars. It denies equality of rights before the law for women and non-Muslims. It denies the freedom of conscience and the freedom of speech.

This debate should ultimately be held in the public square, and Muslims in Western countries called upon to reject explicitly these elements of Islamic tradition, and to back up their rejection with deeds, instituting transparent and inspectable programs to teach against political Islam. But whether or not this debate is ever held, Europeans, and Americans also, will be faced sooner or later with the confrontation between democratic values and the Koran, because the bland denials of Islamic apologists will ultimately give way to the pressure of reality.

"Pure Islam" and Michael van der Galiën

An in-depth look at Islam by Robert Spencer. A bit long, but very informative and a good resource for those studying Islam in the world today.
FROM JIHADWATCH.ORG:
"Pure Islam" and Michael van der Galiën
Michael van der Galiën is a 23-year-old American Studies student at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in the Netherlands, and correspondent in the Netherlands for Pajamas Media. In a post entitled "Islamic Law and Violence," he commented over a week ago on a response written by a student at Brown, Jebediah Koogler, to my Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week talk there. Since van der Galiën articulates so many common responses to and common misunderstandings of the work I am doing, I thought it might be useful to respond.
Jeb Koogler explains the obvious: Islamic law isn’t static. It changes over time. I also get a bit tired of people who say that the Koran preaches much more violence than the Bible and Torah do. I’ve read the Koran and I disagree; it doesn’t teach violence any more than the Bible or Torah.
I discuss this very common argument at length in my book Religion of Peace?; suffice it to say here that van der Galiën's statement, that the Qur'an doesn’t teach violence any more than the "Bible or Torah" is flatly false. For while the Bible contains descriptions of violent acts committed in the name of God, nowhere does it teach believers to imitate that violence. Where people are commanded to commit acts of violence, these are commands directed to specific individuals or groups in particular situations; they are not universal commands.
The Qur'an, on the other hand, quite clearly does teach believers to commit acts of violence against unbelievers -- see 2:190-193, 9:5, 9:29, 47:4, etc. There are no equivalents to such open-ended and universal commands, addressed to all believers to fight unbelievers, in the Bible.

Islamic Prejudice: Christians

Robert Spencer speaks on the mandated persecution of Christians by Muslims. This is a good article for those wanting insight into the workings of Islam.
FROM FRONTPAGEMAG.COM:
Islamic Prejudice: Christians
By Robert Spencer
FrontPageMagazine.com | 10/4/2007
The following article by Robert Spencer deals with the Muslim persecution of Christians and documents how this persecution is rooted in -- and mandated by -- Islamic law. This article is a segment of a series being run as part of our nation-wide campus effort, “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week,” which will be held on 200 university and college campuses on October 22-26. Themes of the week’s events will include the oppression of women and homosexuals in Islam -- as part of a comprehensive focus on all the victims of Islamo-Fascist Jihad. Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week is also a national effort to counter the lies of the academic Left, which seeks to deny the evil -- and even the very existence -- of our enemy in the terror war. In this way, Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week hopes to educate American students and to enable them to rally to defend their country. --The Editors.

Traditional Islamic law mandates the death penalty for Muslims who leave Islam, in accordance with Muhammad’s command: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.” This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, although there is some disagreement over whether the law applies only to men, or to women also.
Many Muslims take this dictum quite seriously even today. In August 2007, Mohammed Hegazy, an Egyptian convert from Islam to Christianity, was forced to go into hiding after Islamic clerics issued sentences of death against him. He refused to flee Egypt, however, and declared: “I know there are fatwas to shed my blood, but I will not give up and I will not leave the country.”

ROBERT SPENCERS NEW BOOK ! ! !

The Truth About Muhammad now available in paperback!
I guess it had to happen, I'm posting for a commrcial product. However, for Robert Spencers' new book, I'm happy do it.
FROM JIHADWATCH:
"Ayman, dude! I love this book!"
When I first posted the Photoshopped image above, some people who took it as real wrote in to ask me how Al-Qaeda op Adam Gadahn, of all people, had been able to get hold of a paperback copy of my book The Truth About Muhammad when there didn't seem to be one available.
Well, Adam didn't really have one, of course. The book above was digitally placed into his hands. But now the a real paperback version of this biography of Muhammad, a New York Times Bestseller, is available. It's at Amazon and should be in any self-respecting bookstore. And if anyone knows Adam's address, please send it to me, and I will get a copy of the book right out to him.
