This is a very interesting analysis. If true, aid to the Palestinians, or any other terroristic group is counterproductive. This verifies my long held belief that any aid to the Palestinians just gave them more money for guns, ammo, explosives and pay for professional terrorists.

The amount of aid promised to the Palestinians in 2007 is on track to exceed any previous year.
Many commentators observing this outpouring of generosity towards the new Fatah-dominated government have expressed the need to proceed cautiously, noting the failure of prior aid to moderate Palestinian behavior, but few have provided specific information to substantiate their concern. In fact, a comparison of annual aid to the Palestinian government with the annual number of Palestinian homicides shows a worrisome correlation.

I often think of these words, spoken about our Lord Jesus Christ, when I read of our warriors’ heroics and contemplate what motivates them to do the deeds they do. Is it really possible for a man to so love his comrades that he willingly sacrifices his life for them? And I do not mean in an abstract way by losing his life while serving his country, but in the visceral, immediate, and deliberate choice to willingly lay down his own life so that others may live.
Diving on a grenade to save your buddies may seem an overused cliché from jingoistic war movies of days gone by, but it has in fact happened so often as to give you pause and make you say “My God, they really did that”.
Twenty-two Medals of Honor were awarded to Marines and Navy Corpsman (and one Navy LCI commander) during the three week long battle of Iwo Jima in 1945, nearly a quarter of all the Medals of Honor awarded to Marines during WWII. Of those, an amazing eight of them were for Marines who willingly dove on grenades to save their comrades. Think of that for a second. You are in a fighting position, or a shell crater, huddled with your brothers in arms when a sizzling instrument of death lands amongst you. Could you, in a half a heartbeat, make the decision to smother it with your own body to save the others? What could possibly motivate those that do? That instant of self sacrifice can not be a thought out decision, but an immediate indicator of the true nature of ones character.
I believe that it is not hate that motivates the American warrior to do what he does, but love. Love of his fellow Marine or soldier. Love of his nation and the ideals it strives towards. And love of us. Each and every one of us, the American citizen peacefully enjoying the freedom they pay for.

Although large differences exist from country to country and within various subgroups in the ever-evolving underworld of jihadi networks in Europe, it is possible to identify some current trends that, in one way or another, are common to the whole continent.

Independent, or Part of a Network

During the last few years, commentators have been fascinated with homegrown networks in Europe and, clearly, small groups of European-born, self-radicalized, violence-prone Islamists have sprung up in most European countries. Yet, the panorama of jihadi networks in Europe is quite complex and, for a more accurate analysis, could be described on a continuum. At one extreme, one can identify quintessential homegrown groups such as the Hofstad Group in the Netherlands: small domestic clusters of radicals that have developed no ties to external groups and act in complete operational independence. At the opposite side of the spectrum are cells that respond to the traditional model used by al-Qaeda-affiliated groups in the 1990s: compartmentalized cells inserted in a well-structured network and subjected to a hierarchy whose heads are often outside Europe. That is the model to which various cells of the Algerian GSPC (today Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb) belong.

Like Bill, Hillary would pursue a hippie "denuclearization" policy that ends testing of nuclear weapons in our stockpile, while slashing the budget for developing defense systems to protect the U.S. from incoming enemy ICBMs.
She slams the Bush administration for, among other things, "focusing obsessively on expensive and unproven missile defense technology."
But there's good reason for that obsession. The Pentagon recently warned that China's long-range missile force has grown substantially in the past few years, and now includes a mobile, land-based ICBM that could reach anywhere in America.
"China has at least 10 varieties of ballistic missiles deployed or in development and is qualitatively improving some of its older systems with improved range, mobility and accuracy," the sobering report said, adding that they're "capable of targeting the continental United States."
It's no accident that China suddenly gained the capacity to launch pre-emptive nuclear strikes against us. It happened on President Clinton's watch, when he systematically dismantled security at Los Alamos and other defense labs as part of his naive "engagement policy" with Beijing.

But frankly, the most useful allies Muslims have in the West more often than not tend to be found among the non-religious crowd.

A number of executives and star presenters at the British Broadcasting Corporation admitted what critics already knew: The BBC is dominated by Left-leaning liberals who are anti-American and biased against Christianity, but sensitive to the feelings of Muslims. Former BBC business editor Jeff Randall said he complained to a very senior news executive about the BBC's pro-Multicultural stance, but was given the reply: "The BBC is not neutral in Multiculturalism: it believes in it and it promotes it."

October 30, 2007: The U.S. has sent a message to Iran and North Korea by putting a request in the new emergency (for the war on terror) defense budget, an $88 million item for special B-2 bomber bomb racks to handle the new 15 ton bunker buster bomb (the MOP, or massive ordnance penetrator). There are no known targets for such a weapon in Iraq or Afghanistan, but there are plenty of such targets in Iran and North Korea. Moreover, even were there deep bunkers in Iraq or Afghanistan, you don't need a stealth bomber to deliver a MOP. The enemy in those countries have no way of detecting a high flying B-52, much less a stealthy B-2. But Iran and North Korea do have radars, and a B-2 could slip past those radars and take out the air defense system command bunkers, or any other targets buried deep. The 20 foot long MOP has a thick steel cap, and can penetrate up to 200 feet into the ground before exploding.

That quote comes from 1391 AD, but this is not an early example of linking Islam to violence. In fact, the earliest of all known bits of writing on Islam (earlier than the Quran itself, which wasn't compiled and standardised into its present form until 650-656 AD) includes the Doctrina Jacobi of 634-640 AD, which mentions a prophet of the Saracens (Arabs) who had came "armed with a sword." For as long as Islam had been around, it has been seen as violent. So we see ourselves in no different a situation today with this criticism continuing.

THE families of the three death row Bali bombers have paid what could be their last visit to their island prison before the trio face execution.
The so-called smiling assassin Amrozi bin Nurhasyim, senior Jemaah Islamiah figure Mukhlas (aka Ali Ghufron) and Imam Samudra are on death row for their roles in the 2002 Bali nightclub blasts that killed 202 people, including 88 Australians.
The three have exhausted all legal avenues for appeal and only now have the option to appeal for a presidential pardon, something they have said they will not do.

The Global Islamic Media Front, the leading al Qaeda website, has posted a report that verifies Osama bin Laden's possession of nuclear weapons and his intent, if provoked, to deploy these weapons against the United States.

The report maintains that bin Laden, when asked what will happen if the US uses nukes against his terrorist organization, said: "If they hit us with them, we will hit them with the same."
In November 2001, bin Laden provided a similar response to the same question during an interview with Hamid Mir. ""We have chemical and nuclear weapons," he told the Pakistani journalist. "If America uses chemical or nuclear weapons against us, then we may resort with chemical or nuclear weapons." When Mir asked bin Laden where he obtained such weapons, the al Qaeda leader said: "It is not difficult [to acquire such weapons], not if you have contacts in Russia and with other militant groups."

The Global Islamic Media Front report goes on to say that al Qaeda, prior to 9/11, had commissioned an Egyptian scientist to prepare its arsenal of nuclear weapons - - obtained from arms dealers, such as Semion Mogilevich of the Ukraine and black-market sources in Russia, Chechnya, China, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Sudan. This scientist, according to the Front, "tested exploding a miniature nuclear bomb and caused a huge, tremendous explosion which made the leaders of the mujahadeen very happy. Sheikh Osama personally was following the project through its various phases."

Belgium is confronted with the phenomenon of Islamo-socialism – an alliance between Muslims and the Socialist Party leadership. The latter has seen its traditional blue-collar voters flock to conservative parties, such as ours, and hopes to find a new electoral base.
This strategy has worked. In last year’s local elections in Belgium the immigrant vote tipped the balance in favour of the Left.

Holy Quran is replete with verses having profoundly dreadful hellish-prescriptions formulated by the Merciful Allah to punish all the non-Muslims infidels including Jews and Christians. In this essay, I have presented some selected Quranic verses from the translation of Maolana Abdullah Yusuf Ali. Readers will find many identical hellish prescriptions of torture but they are in different chapters and verses altogether, hence should not be confused as the repetition of the same verse again and again. BAGHDAD, Iraq — Members of the Iraqi Army in Besmaya collected a donation for the San Diego, Calif., fire victims Thursday night at the Besmaya Range Complex in a moving ceremony to support Besmaya's San Diego residents.

Iraqi Army Col. Abbass, the commander of the complex, presented a gift of $1,000 to U.S. Army Col. Darel Maxfield, Besmaya Range Complex officer in charge, Multi-National Security Transition Command Iraq, to send to the fire victims in California.

The money was collected from Iraqi officers and enlisted soldiers in Besmaya. In a speech given during the presentation, Col. Abbass stated that he and the Iraqi soldiers were connected with the American people in many ways, and they will not forget the help that the American government has given the Iraqi people. Abbass was honored to participate by sending a simple fund of $1,000 to the American people in San Diego, to lower the suffering felt by the tragedy.

RIYADH, 28 October 2007 — There is a strong possibility that Rizana Nafeek, charged by a court in Dawadmi with murdering a four-month-old child, will escape execution, according to her lawyers. The law firm of Khateb Al-Shammary retained by the Hong Kong-based Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has filed an appeal against the death sentence and her case is currently being reviewed in a court of appeals.
“In a letter addressed to us, the legal firm has said that there is a strong likelihood of Rizana being spared,” Basil Fernando, executive director of AHRC, told Arab News yesterday. However, he added that the lawyers believed that she could be given a five-year jail term for “death caused without intention.”
He added, “Sometimes, the charges may be set aside by the appeals court and Rizana could be released unconditionally,” Fernando said, adding that the final verdict is yet to be heard.

Flag folding recitations now banned at national cemeteries

I'm pissed, I'm outraged and I'm insulted that ONE, count 'em, ONE complaint could scotch a long standing tradition to honor a deceased military member at his burial. WTF is wrong with The National Cemetery Administration of the Veterans Administration? They can dress this up in any fancy bureaucratic clap trap they please, but it boils down to some gutless, clueless GS-somethings being total asses.

I'll be buried in a veterans Cemetery someday and I damn well expect to receive the whole traditional ceremony.

Flag folding recitations now banned at national cemeteries

I’m getting a lot of e-mail about this maddening story in the Military Times about flag-folding recitals being banned at military funerals in national cemeteries:

Flag-folding recitations by Memorial Honor Detail volunteers are now banned at the nation’s 125 veterans graveyards because of a complaint about the ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery.
During thousands of military burials, the volunteers have folded the American flag 13 times and recited the significance of every fold to survivors.
The first fold represents life, the second a belief in eternal life, and so on.
The complaint revolved around the narration in the 11th fold, which celebrates Jewish war veterans and “glorifies the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.”
The National Cemetery Administration then decided to ban the entire recital at all national cemeteries. Details of the complaint weren’t disclosed.
Administration spokesman Mike Nacincik said the new policy outlined in a Sept. 27 memorandum is aimed at creating uniform services throughout the military graveyard system.

Veterans and honor detail volunteers, including Bobby Castillo, 85, and Rees Lloyd, 59, are furious.
“That the actions of one disgruntled, whining, narcissistic and intolerant individual is preventing veterans from getting the honors they deserve is truly an outrage,” Lloyd said. “This is another attempt by secularist fanatics to cleanse any reference to God.”
Castillo, a Navy veteran of World War II, said it’s “a slap in the face to every veteran.”
“When we got back from the war, we didn’t ask for a whole lot,” Castillo said. “We just want to give our veterans the respect they deserve. No one has ever complained to us about it. I just don’t understand.”

This is surely a surreal confluence of not church and state, but mosque and state, which, under Islam, are always fused in the system of sharia law--a system that denies all Western-style human rights.
So, in refusing the Koran, the legislators weren't simply and churlishly turning down a benign gift. There was a principle involved--namely, that the Koran promulgates an ideology at odds with Western-style liberty. Such a principle, in these PC times, is difficult to get across to people convinced of universalism or afraid of giving "offense" (or both). Of course, given the extreme "offensiveness" of Islamic religious discrimination or the Islamic institution of jihad, such a critique is nonsense. Imagine if the German-American Bund handed out copies of Mein Kampf to state lawmakers, and the ones that refused to accept a copy were labeled anti-Semitic. It’s that nuts.

Anaesthetist reports Muslim

Fri 26/10/07 - An anaesthetist from the Limburg town of Bree has reported a Muslim man that tried to prevent him from giving giving a woman an aesthetic before she had a caesarean. According to the medical weekly 'De Artsenkrant' the anaesthetist was on call at the Maas and Kempen Campus Hospital in Bree during the night of 23 August.
He received a call to attend to a Muslim woman who urgently needed a caesarean section to save her unborn child.

However, the woman's husband prevented the male doctor from entering the operating theatre and demanded a female anaesthetist.
However, no female anaesthetist was available.

The man even tried to remove his wife from the operating theatre.

It took doctors two hours to persuade the man to allow the anaesthetist to give his wife an injection.

He agreed to allow the anaesthetist to do his job providing that his wife's arm was bandaged up at the place where she was injected.

The anaesthetist was then forced to leave the operating theatre and had to follow the rest of the birth from in the corridor, where he shouted instructions to a nurse who was still inside.
"A question of principle"
The anaesthetist has reported the man for preventing him from doing his job to the Judicial Authorities in Tongeren Limburg.

The doctor's solicitor told the 'Artzenkrant' that both the patient and the doctor had been put in danger. "Other doctors have been confronted with the same problem. However, the incident in Bree was particularly brutal".

The Anaesthetists' Association is also a plaintiff in the case.

If the government blocks its building, Milli Gorus will call on Turks throughout the whole of Europe to demonstrate. Dag hopes this would be a peaceful procession, but fears it could get out of hand. "Our people are emotional and someone crazy can just be walking among them," he said in the newspaper.

Tefft: Following 9/11, my former company, Orion Scientific Systems, provided some anti-terrorist software to the NYPD. I was detailed to help upload some data and then for the next two years my services were donated to the NYPD free of charge by the President of Orion as a patriotic gesture. I would commute to NY weekly from Virginia, my salary, hotel, air fare and all expenses covered by Orion. As an intelligence officer my focus had always been proactive, to find out what was going to happen. Law enforcement is traditionally reactive, looking for the criminal after a crime had taken place. My work with the NYPD was to provide the police officers some additional proactive capabilities in their fight against terrorism. The key to pro-action is awareness which is based on knowledge of the enemy.

First one, then 17 and now 24 state lawmakers have declined a copy of the Koran offered to all 149 members of the legislature by an official Muslim advisory group to Oklahoma's governor. State Rep. Rex Duncan, Republican, explained his rejection of the Koran this way: "Most Oklahomans do not endorse the idea of killing innocent women and children in the name of ideology."

It goes without saying that if and when a decision is made in Jerusalem or Washington to carry out an attack against Iran's nuclear installations the public will only learn of the decision in retrospect. All the same, over the last few weeks, it has been impossible to miss the fact that the Iranian nuclear program has become the subject of intense and ever increasing international scrutiny. This naturally gives rise to the impression that something is afoot.
Take for example the head of the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency Muhammad elBaradei's recent remarks on the subject. Speaking to Le Monde on Monday, elBaradei asserted that it will take Iran between three to eight years to acquire a nuclear arsenal. Consequently, he argued, there is no reason to consider conducting a military strike against Teheran' program. There is still plenty of time for diplomacy, or sanctions or even incentives for the ayatollahs, he said.

The pending sale of a U.S. defense contractor to a company directly linked to the Chinese army would normally be canceled at once.
However, the links between a dark Chinese company and many of the most powerful politicians in America appears to have put the buyout of 3Com on the fast-track toward approval.
Bain Capital and Goldman Sachs — two leading financial firms — are currently seeking the buyout of 3Com, a computer communications firm with U.S. defense contracts. 3Com makes equipment used by the Pentagon to block computer hackers.
Bain is financing the buyout of 3Com with the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei. Huawei is associated with the Chinese, Iraqi, and Taliban militaries.
Bain Capital is a major financial firm with a great deal of success in the past. Bain Capital was founded in 1984 by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. According to Gov. Mitt Romney's campaign Web site, Bain is "one of the nation's most successful venture capital and investment companies."
However, it is Huawei that will benefit from the buyout. Huawei installed air defense networks for Saddam Hussein and the Taliban. The CIA, U.S. Defense Department, the Rand Corporation and even Indian intelligence agencies have openly documented Huawei's links to Saddam and the Taliban.

The most recent rumors, of what enabled the Israelis to slip past Syria's air defenses during the September 6th raid, describe a system that has been used in Iraq to detect transmissions from terrorist communications and zap IED detonation systems. This system is referred to as Suter, and such a program has been described in trade journals for several years now. The basic elements of Suter are powerful sensors, for detecting all manner of electronic emissions. This is coupled with some very fast computers, and a large database of known emitters. The computer software quickly identifies the emitters, and potential entry points into enemy communications networks. Suter transmitters can shut down some or all enemy emitters, just monitor them, or inject misleading information.

WASHINGTON - New commercial satellite images show a suspected Syrian nuclear reactor site has been wiped clean since it was bombed Sept. 6 by Israeli aircraft.
Analysts say Thursday that the cleanup will hinder a proposed investigation by international nuclear inspectors and suggests Syria is trying to conceal evidence.
It took down this facility so quickly it looks like they are trying to hide something,’ said David Albright, president of the Institute for Science and International Security, which analyzed the images.
An image taken Wednesday by a DigitalGlobe commercial satellite shows tractors or bulldozers and scrape marks on the ground where the building stood in photos taken before the September Israeli attack.
It also shows what appears to be a trench where Syrians might have dug up buried pipelines running from a water pumping station to the suspected reactor building.
Albright said Syria may have acted so swiftly because the Israeli attack blew a hole in the roof, which would have exposed the building’s contents to spy aircraft and satellites.
Had the building not been razed, inspectors would have been able to tell from its construction whether it was meant to house a North Korean-style nuclear reactor, Albright said. He said that the structure got a roof so early in its construction also suggests that it was a reactor.
That’s another bit of support that it was a reactor being built with North Korean help,’ he said. From what we understand, North Korea builds reactors in an old-fashioned way; the roof goes on early.’ More modern reactors leave the roof until last to allow large cranes to lift heavy equipment into place, he said.
The building was under construction for at least a year, based on analysis of earlier commercial images put together by SPOT Image, another commercial imagery company, Albright said.
DigitalGlobe’s satellites captured four images of the site on four recent days _ Aug. 10, 15, 28 and Oct. 24. Company spokesman Chuck Herring would not say whether DigitalGlobe captured those images speculatively or at the request of a customer.
Syria, a member of the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, denies it was building a nuclear reactor. It has a single small nuclear research reactor that operates under international safeguards. The alleged new reactor would have operated outside those controls.

Sunday the 21th October was not only a severe attack on freedom of speech but an attempt to close the mouth forever on an organisation who stands up for freedom, freedom of speech and for democracy. Small details were the reason why it didn’t ended up with murder like in Holland, on one of the brave advocate’s for freedom of expression who dare to stand in the frontline.

On sunday the 21th October SIOE Denmark had announced a demonstration in Copenhagen. Read previous post. Before the demo Anders Gravers (SIOE and SIAD) and 2 other members were driving in a van with three seats in the front, following the security car, where an elderly woman, 74 years, (foto) and member of SIAD and another SIAD member were passengers.
Anders was driving and followed the security car down in a parking cellar to park so the cars would be in a secure place before the demo.
He drove very slowly down because apperently there was very little space in the hight for the van. The driveway is very steep and is divided by concrete pillars. Because of the delaying, the driver of the security car got out of his car to open the metalgate again because it was closing after 30 sek. so we could enter the cellar. He directed the van forwards close along the pillars and directly in front of a big concrete pillar supporting the cellar roof.

2-5 sek. after there was a loud bang and the frontwindow was damaged. About two autonomous looking types were in the front and two on ecah sites smashing the site windows shouting Get him out get him out! and started hitting Anders and the SIAD passenger in the other site with ironbars. The SIAD member in the middle (foto) was hit of a thrown filled soda bottle in her backhead.
Anders succeded after a while to kick one of the autonomous hard in the face as he leaned in to unlock the door. Anders mananged to get out with a fire extinguisher from the van and hit another one hard on the shoulder. It remained later that they attemted to stab him down when there was found cut holes in the shirt, jacket and vest. Anders was wearing his securityvest which saved his life.
Suddenly they disappeared and Anders got around the van and saw a SIAD member (foto top) lying on the floor while he was beaten in the head of 4-5 persons with ironbars. Apperently they also tried to stab him down, but again he also wore his security vest which saved his life.

Because there is no shortage of things to yell about regarding the War on Terror, Iraq, Afghanistan, Homeland Security, and so on, deciding what to write about is always fun.
This week, I was going to yell about how the Bush administration leaked classified information — again — but we've been there before. Then, I thought I might write about Blackwater, but compared to so many things, Blackwater looks like back water.
I bet the few of you that read this stuff thought I would write about my short stint in the sights of those who complained or used my column last week for their own purposes. Nah, it ain't going to happen. Those who were yelling or using me on their TV shows — without bringing me on to comment — are hardly worth the print space. I am not that big a deal. Besides, these things are of little consequence when you realize how we missed, squandered, screwed up, made a mess of and were massively risk adverse — again — when we did not kill Usama bin Laden in Afghanistan just two short months ago.
We know, with a 70 percent level of certainty — which is huge in the world of intelligence — that in August of 2007, bin Laden was in a convoy headed south from Tora Bora. We had his butt, on camera, on satellite. We were listening to his conversations. We had the world’s best hunters/killers — Seal Team 6 — nearby. We had the world class Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) coordinating with the CIA and other agencies. We had unmanned drones overhead with missiles on their wings; we had the best Air Force on the planet, begging to drop one on the terrorist. We had him in our sights; we had done it. Nice job again guys — now, pull the damn trigger.
Unbelievably, and in my opinion, criminally, we did not kill Usama bin Laden.
You cannot make this crap up; truth is always stranger and more telling than fiction. Our government, the current administration and yes, our military leaders included, failed to kill bin Laden for no other reason than incompetence.
The current “boneheads” in charge will tell you all day long that we are fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan to stop terrorists there so they do not come here. Nice talk, how about — just for a moment — acting like you mean what you say? You know walk the walk. These incidents, where we displayed a total lack of guts, like the one in August, are just too prevalent. The United States of America’s political and military leadership has, on at least three separate occasions, chosen not capture or kill bin Laden or Ayman al-Zawahri. We have allowed Pakistan to become a safe haven for Al Qaeda. We have allowed Al Qaeda to reconstitute, partially because of money they (Al Qaeda in Iraq) have been sending to Al Qaeda in Pakistan.
We are in a war with terrorists. We are in a war with countries that support terrorists. We are in a war with people that fly planes into buildings and who never, ever hesitate to pull the trigger when given the chance to kill us. We cannot win and, I will tell you this now, we are losing this war every damn time we fail to take every single opportunity to kill murderers like Usama bin Laden. Less than two months ago, we lost again.
Our men and women are being blown up and killed every day in Iraq and Afghanistan. Every family who is separated from a loved one during this war is being insulted by our government when they fail to kill those who have already killed us and will not hesitate to do so again and again. Damn it guys, PULL THE DAMN TRIGGER.

An early morning telephone call from our federal law enforcement source in California revealed information about the fires that suggests these are different than previous fires. Stated this source: "This is California and fires happen. But the manner in which these fires 'happened' indicate some level of pre-planning." When asked about the specific indications of pre-planning, this source declined to elaborate, adding only that the specific locations of origin combined by perfect weather and wind conditions are being investigated.
"The terrorists with whom we are at war and want to exact revenge on the U.S. are using simpler tactics with greater results. We have interviewed 10, perhaps 12 admitted members or al Qaeda or 'al Qaeda sympathizers' who have admitted using fires to destroy areas of the country, from Utah to Colorado and California. The rapid Islamisation of Europe must be fought. In order to fight it, political parties must be engaged. If not, how then to effect change?
I will make the case for the Europeans desperate to save their country(s). I did research (and continue to) and see the ghosts but VB or more particularly the Swedish Democrats but they have done nothing in recent years that I need to worry about. The Swedish Democrats have had their purge a few years ago and are now clean. I see a pattern of such transformations in several European countries. If they want to become respectable, pro-Israel, I am thrilled to be part of the process.
I can't be held captive to past associations. That's like the left repeatedly running the pic of Rumsfeld and Saddam back in the 80s. Every party, every person, everywhere has past associations that are irrelevant to what's happening now. Hell, I was once a Democrat.
The Counter Jihad summit was significant in that forces must enjoin to fight the scourge of sharia. It's not enough to talk about it, action (and quick action) must be taken. The focus needs to be on what the summit set out to do, what transpired and the next steps that must be taken. Bat Yeor, Robert Spencer, Dr. Andrew Bostom, Patrick Sookhdeo, Dr. Eldad, Paul Belien, Fjordman, et all went to that summit to strategize a plan of action.

The History of the Middle Finger

Well, now......here's something I never knew before, and now that I know it, I feel compelled to send it on to my more intelligent friends in the hope that they, too, will feel edified. Isn't history more fun when you know something about it?

Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as "plucking the yew" (or "pluck yew").

Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew! Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as "giving the bird."

IT IS STILL AN APPROPRIATE SALUTE TO THE FRENCH TODAY!

At first glance, it would seem a straightforward thing to stop a relatively weak but volatile Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb. It would also seem to be something a concerned world community would be actively working to do.

After all, the Sunni Arab states surrounding Iran don't want a Shiite nuclear power on their borders.

Europe, which isn't all that far from Tehran and lacks a missile-defense shield, certainly doesn't want to be in range of Iran's missiles.

Israel can't tolerate an Iranian theocracy both promising to wipe it off the map and then brazenly obtaining the means to do so.

The Russians and the Chinese, both already concerned about India, Pakistan and North Korea, don't need another rival Asian nuclear power on their borders.

And the United States, already worried about Iranian threats to Israel and involved in daily military battles in Iraq with pro-Iranian agents and terrorists armed with Iranian-imported weapons, doesn't want a nuclear Iran expanding its Persian Gulf influence.

But in truth, most players don't care enough to stop Iran from getting the bomb, or apparently don't think it's worth the effort and cost. Some may even see some advantages to a nuclear Iran. READ IT ALL:

A federal judge in Dallas declared a mistrial in the case of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) when a jury was unable to reach a verdict on 197 counts brought by the government that accused the Muslim charity of funding terrorism.

A hung jury, however, is not an acquittal and even if the Holy Land Foundation eventually is acquitted (the government has indicated it will retry the case) it doesn't necessarily mean the accused is innocent (think O.J. Simpson's murder trial).

Anyone in doubt about the game plan for infiltrating, undermining and attacking America from within our borders had better sober up. Our enemies know our ways and they are using them to gain a strategic advantage over us. From the rapid construction of mosques and Islamic schools across the country — many of which are financed by Saudi Arabia — to the use of front organizations as conduits to channel money to terrorist groups abroad, a "fifth column" has been opened in the United States. For those who are unfamiliar with the term "fifth column," it usually refers to a group of people who are assumed to have loyalties to countries other than their own, or who support some other nation in war efforts against the country they live in. We used to call such people traitors before the term was submerged in a wave of political correctness.

How I Learned to Burn Sh*t

I've posted a couple of items on Writing Along put up buy a serving Marine to showcase some writing by military and ex-military about their experiences. He has stories up by Marines, Army & Navy personnel, but as of this writing is still looking for some Air Force stories. Go on over to get some candid glimpses into the military mindset.

"How I Learned to Burn Sh*t" is the first one which I'll post here for your amusment.

Time: June 1968
Place: 90th Replacement Company, Long Binh, RVN

Like many young soldiers, I was processed through the 90th Replacement Company. It was mandatory to attend morning formation in order to receive your duty assignments.

The very first day the First Sergeant read off the list of guys with assignments and where to go get transportation. Then, he looked over the rest of us and in classic First Sergeant manner pointed to three of us and said "youse mens go with this here acting corporeal, he has a job for you".

The job was burning shit. There were three or four 20 hole crappers in the area which needed our undivided attention. The drill was to pull out half of the drums of crap at a time and burn them. The technique was to put a couple of quarts of diesel fuel in a drum, light it off and stir it with some rebar till dry. That took most of the day.

With my luck I got tapped for the same duty the next day.

On the third day, being experienced, and the acting corporeal having gotten orders, I was given the acting Corporals armband and three other FNGs to go burn shit. Again.

My innovation was to pull ALL the drums into a long triple wide row and pour in not just a few quarts of diesel, but several gallons into each drum and light it all off. No more stirring for me. The flames turned the drums white hot and produced a spectacular column of black smoke.

This attracted the attention of the ever alert First Sergeant who came running and shrieking: WHAT ARE YOU DOING! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!

The answer of course was: Burning shit, Sarge.
