Advanced Tactical Laser Test

Lasers are the future of national defense. This small demonstration of a tactical airborne laser burning through the hood of a truck from several kilometers away is only a taste of what lasers are capable of. A larger airborne laser mounted in a 747 will have the capability of taking out low orbit satellites, or picking out an individual terrorist and melting his head.

Lasers will revolutionize warfare in many ways. The most obvious is the flexibility to accomplish missions now requiring massive firepower from conventional cannons and bombs down to individual riflemen. The ongoing war against Muslim terrorists would be enhanced by the ability to selectively take out individual terrorists to vaporizing a mob of attackers. The ability to minimize collateral damage and civilian causalities while reducing friendly causalities will boost moral among Western troops while spreading terror among Muslim terrorists.

Now if only Obama will release the funds to bring this lasers to operational status. But that's not likely to happen because it would imperil his Muslim friends.

This video shows the effect of the high-energy laser beam from the Boeing Advanced Tactical Laser (ATL), fired at a stationary truck from a US Air Force NC-130H flying over White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, on August 30, 2009. The ATL is a chemical oxygen iodine laser (COIL).
