Doubts Mount over Obama's 'Civilian Surge' Strategy for Afghanistan

Another joke, Obama plans to deploy up to a thousand civilian "experts" into the Afghan countryside to "wean them off of opium production".  That's just a thousand hostages and or dead bodies.  That's if he can find so many fools.  State department personnel have been refusing to go to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan for years because they consider those places too dangerous and a "hardship" tour.  On top of everything else, there are not enough people even qusaalified for these positions.

What a crock.

FROM NEWSMAX.COM:

Doubts Mount over Obama's 'Civilian Surge' Strategy for Afghanistan

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration is forging ahead with its civilian surge in Afghanistan but some experts say thousands more are needed while others fear the security situation is making the push ineffective.

In unveiling his first Afghanistan strategy in March, President Barack Obama called for increasing the number of experts to 1,000 in order to help the Kabul government serve its people and wean the economy off opium production.

Obama, due to unveil a revamped strategy on Tuesday that is expected to include some 30,000 to 35,000 more troops, stressed again last week the importance of sending civilians to accompany the military push in Afghanistan.

"It's going to be important to recognize that in order for us to succeed there, you've got to have a comprehensive strategy that includes civilian and diplomatic efforts," he told reporters.
Richard Holbrooke, Obama's special representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan, said earlier this week that some 974 civilians will be deployed by "the early weeks of next year."

A US official told AFP on condition of anonymity the figure could be higher.
Steven Metz, an analyst with the US Army War College, wrote in the New Republic magazine that the civilian surge could only succeed if Washington sent several thousand experts to Afghanistan for years at a time.
But John Dempsey, a specialist with the United States Institute of Peace who has spent the last seven years in Kabul working on reforming the Afghan justice sector, said numbers were not necessarily the key.

If the civilians are stuck mainly on a military base or with armed escorts for security reasons, "the impact of the (planned US) increase will be marginal yet expensive," Dempsey said in an email exchange with AFP.
"On the other hand, if they can recruit qualified civilians who are given proper cross-cultural training and who are able to meet with Afghans regularly in the local communities... then I think there's a real opportunity for development progress to be made."

Egypt mufti says Swiss minaret ban insults Muslims

Good and good.  Good on the Swiss for standing up to the Islamic demands for special treatment.  And better yet, it's the feminist lobby who are largely responsible for this referendum.  Good that the Islamic world feels insulted.  Islam in general needs to understand that Western societies are secular and not subject to Muslim religious requirements or demands.

Now if only the rest of the Western world finds the stones to tell Islam to go take a hike.

Egypt mufti says Swiss minaret ban insults Muslims
(AFP) – 4 hours ago

CAIRO — Egypt's Mufti Ali Gomaa denounced a vote to ban new minarets in Switzerland on Sunday as an "insult" to Muslims across the world, while calling on Muslims not to be provoked by the move.

A solid majority of Swiss voters chose in a referendum to ban the construction of new minarets, the towers attached to mosques from which the call to prayers is announced.
"This proposal...is not considered just an attack on freedom of beliefs, but also an attempt to insult the feelings of the Muslim community in and outside Switzerland," Gomaa, the Egyptian government's official interpreter of Islamic law, told the state-run news agency MENA.

He encouraged Switzerland's 400,000-strong Muslim community to use "dialogue" and legal means to contest the ban, which he described as "provocative behaviour."
The rightist Swiss People's Party (SVP) -- Switzerland's biggest party -- had forced the referendum after collecting a mandatory 100,000 signatures from eligible voters within 18 months.

Gomaa also called on Muslims not to be affected "by this provocation," adding that Islam "considers humanity a single family."
Egypt is the most populous Arab country and was at the forefront of a backlash against Denmark in 2006 after a Danish newspaper printed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed.

Multiculturalism on trial

More on the despicable treatment of three Navy SEALS by the Obama administration.  Make no mistake, this has to be coming from the top in order to intimidate other members of the military from pursuing Muslim terrorists. This is all part of the administration's agenda to curry favor with the Muslim world and sell out the West to the Islamist Jihad.

FROM WASHINGTONTIMES.COM:

Multiculturalism on trial
Military interest in a PR offensive

By Jeffrey T. Kuhner

The United States Navy has betrayed its own. The names of the victims are Petty Officer Matthew McCabe, Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe and Petty Officer Julio Huertas.
They are Navy Seals, part of an elite commando unit, who recently captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq - the accused mastermind of the 2004 infamous war crime in the Iraqi city of Fallujah, Ahmed Hashim Abed. Mr. Abed is said to have ordered the assassination of four Blackwater USA security guards.

These security guards - all of them Americans - were slaughtered in an ambush, their bodies then burned and mutilated as they were dragged through the streets of Fallujah. Two were later hanged from a bridge over the Euphrates River, dangling from a noose so the world press could photograph them.

Mr. Abed also has spearheaded insurgent attacks against U.S. soldiers. His jihadists are responsible for murdering innocent Iraqi civilians - many of them women and children.
The three Seals should have been given a medal for their brave actions. Instead, they face court-martial. They will be separately arraigned in a military court on Dec. 7. Their trials will take place in January.

Their crime: They purportedly punched Abed, giving him a bloody lip. They face prison time because their actions constituted "assault," thereby rising to the level of possible "detainee abuse." The U.S. military is determined not to have another Abu Ghraib prison scandal. Navy authorities fear Mr. Abed's allegations of "abuse" and "torture" could embarrass America, undermining our public outreach to the Islamic world.

The three Seals are being sacrificed on the altar of liberal multiculturalism. They are being smeared and treated as criminals for - at worst - doing the equivalent of what hockey players regularly do: smack somebody in the mouth.
Moreover, they may not have even laid a hand on Mr. Abed. Al Qaeda terrorists have been ordered by Osama bin Laden to claim torture once in U.S. custody - even if it means inflicting self-abuse. The goal is to continue jihad within the prison system, presenting America as a nation that violates human rights and oppresses Muslims. It is part of radical Islam's propaganda playbook. Hence, Mr. Abed just as likely hit himself, claiming his captors did it.

Yet even if one of the Seals did punch him, big deal. They are not police officers arresting a U.S. citizen; they are warriors who apprehended a mass-murdering foreign terrorist - someone with American blood on his hands. Mr. Abed does not deserve to be treated with kid gloves. He is not entitled to have his Miranda rights read. If Mr. Abed is tough enough to massacre Americans, behead Iraqi civilians and wage a brutal insurgency, he certainly can take a punch. Had the three Seals been captured by Mr. Abed's forces, a bloody lip would be the least of their problems.

The fact that these brave men now face court-marital is emblematic of our military's inability to successfully prosecute the war on terror. We are no longer able to distinguish real and fake abuse. The rights of terrorists take precedence over the rights of U.S. soldiers. Any bogus claim of "abuse" can be used to legally harass American troops.
Moreover, our service members are expected to confront fanatical, ruthless jihadists in a hostile environment under strict rules of engagement. They are subject to regular roadside bombings, sniper attacks, ambushes and a cowardly enemy that blends into the civilian population. Yet the military brass is more interested in a public-relations campaign aimed at winning Arab sympathy rather than providing our soldiers with the support they need to win.

America has become so overly sensitive about massaging world Muslim opinion it is no longer able to defeat the rampaging Islamists in Afghanistan and Iraq. The wars have evolved into protracted military quagmires.
During World War II, the United States razed German cities to the ground. The atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was total war for total victory - regardless of the cost to German and Japanese civilians. Today, it is the opposite: a partial, inhibited war with no vision for victory. Our troops are being betrayed by their military and political leaders.

Our perverse military culture now targets its heroes, while promoting and turning a blind eye to a homegrown terrorist such as Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. For years, Maj. Hasan publicly acknowledged his sympathy for jihadism before the massacre for which he is accused was committed at Fort Hood. The result was 14 dead (including an unborn child) and 29 wounded in the worst terrorist atrocity on U.S. soil since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The Army's knee-jerk reaction, however, was to defend "diversity."
"Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength," said Gen. George W. Casey Jr., the Army chief of staff. "And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse."
No, it isn't. What is worse is how the virus of political correctness has infected our military - to the point, where our Islamic outreach efforts have descended into the theater of the absurd.

Diversity is not our strength; unity is - unity of purpose, will and commitment. We used to know that.

Germany home to 90 combat Islamists

ONLY 90 Muslim terrorists in Germany?  How many more Islamic terrorists are there in Germany who are still undetected?  How many in the rest of the Western world?

FROM THELOCAL.DE:

Germany home to 90 combat Islamists
Published: 28 Nov 09 11:50 CET

There are about 90 combat-trained Islamists in Germany moving among underground networks, Focus magazine reported Saturday, as intelligence agencies and police prepare to overhaul the country's anti-terrorism approach.

Some 30 of them have actual fighting experience through clashes with US or Pakistani soldiers, the magazine reported, citing German security sources.

In total, 185 Islamists trained in terrorist camps in central Asia had lived or worked in Germany in the past 10 years, the sources said.

New, young radicals were no longer recruited only through mosques, but also in universities, prisons and sports clubs, the report said.

The security sources wanted Germany to take a stronger stance in the future towards deradicalising young Islamists.

According to a separate report in magazine Der Spiegel, the Joint Terrorism Defence Centre (GTAZ) – a co-operation between various German police and intelligence agencies – will hold a forum in December to overhaul the country’s anti-terrorism strategy and come up with fresh approaches.

The efforts would be aimed at native German converts to Islam, as much as radicals with immigrant backgrounds.

Until now, anti-radicalisation measures had been piecemeal across Germany’s states, ranging from educational comic books to one-on-one conversations with violence-prone Islamists, the Spiegel report said.

The forum, organised by the Interior Ministry, would also study Jihadists who had already been convicted and imprisoned, as they posed their own danger in jail, where they could radicalise other prisoners.

To fight this problem, moderate Imams and Islamic organisations could be brought into counter the influence of radicals in jails, the Spiegel report said.

Mental State Cited in 9/11 Case

FROM ONLINE.WSJ.COM:

By JESS BRAVIN

WASHINGTON -- When five defendants are brought before a New York federal judge to face charges for the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the first question may be whether some of them are competent to stand trial at all.

Military lawyers for Ramzi Binalshibh, an accused organizer of the 9/11 plot, and Mustafa al-Hawsawi, the conspiracy's alleged paymaster, say their clients have mental disorders that make them unfit for trial, likely caused or exacerbated by years of harsh confinement in Central Intelligence Agency custody.

The issue already has arisen in military-commission proceedings at the military's detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. According to an August ruling by a military judge, prosecutors have made an "apparent concession" that Mr. Binalshibh "suffers from a delusional disorder-persecutory type" disorder. Mr. Binalshibh has been prescribed "a variety of psychotropic medications used to treat schizophrenia and/or bipolar disorder, including Haldol, Abilify, risperidone and Ativan," according to commission records.

In October 2008, a military medical board reported Mr. Binalshibh may suffer from "severe mental disease" that could "impair his ability to conduct or cooperate intelligently in his defense."
A military attorney for Mr. Hawsawi, Lt. Cmdr. Gretchen Sosbee, said the military judge ordered a mental evaluation of her client, but its results haven't yet been entered into the record.

Justice for terrorists but not our soldiers?

This outrage is just another in a growing litany of outrages against our military while we are in the midst of the greatest threat this nation has ever faced.

FROM JEWISHWORLDREVIEW.COM:

Justice for terrorists but not our soldiers?
By Diana West

During the Thanksgiving season especially, Americans should give thanks to our brave men in uniform, and women, too, fighting in hostile lands under atrocious conditions.

But there's another duty upon us as Americans with a debt of gratitude to our armed forces.

We must recognize and protest the travesties of military justice that have tried, convicted, jailed and denied clemency to all too many brave Americans, the same brave Americans who have fought our wars only to be unfairly charged with "murder" in the war zone.

Readers of this column will recall the crushing conviction of Sgt. Evan Vela, a young Ranger-trained sniper and father of two from Idaho, for executing his superior's 2006 order to kill an Iraqi man who at the time has been compromising his squad's hiding place in the pre-"surge" Sunni triangle. Ten years in Fort Leavenworth, ordered not-so-blind justice. (There is evidence that Evan's harsh sentence was a blatant political offering to Iraq's government.) One reason behind my intense distaste for George W. Bush — my own personal Bush Derangement Syndrome — is the former president's callousness toward such Americans as Sgt. Vela, who served their commander in chief well in these difficult times of war. As the Bush administration came to an end, talk of a presidential pardon for Vela leaked to the media, no doubt elating the Vela family, but, cruelly, nothing came of it.

It never does. Evan Vela now has all too many brothers-in-arms at Fort Leavenworth prison where they form what is increasingly known as The Leavenworth Ten: Vela (10 years), Corey Claggett (18 years), William Hunsaker (18 years), Raymond Girouard (10 years), Michael Williams (25 years), Larry Hutchins (11 years), Michael Behenna (20 years), John Hatley (40 years), Joseph Mayo (20 years), Michael Leahy (20 years). Google their names, read their cases and, before recoiling in politically correct shudders into the deeper recesses of the Lazy Boy, try to imagine the particular hell of this war as they and others like them experienced it on our behalf.

If this exercise elicits any pangs amid the general sense of holiday well being, good. Maybe it will help Americans see the urgent need for clemency in these cases. And particularly given the mind-boggling fact that the United States has been granting clemency in Iraq to the most murderous detainees our soldiers were sent to fight in the first place.

I'm not even referring to the thousands of "lower-level" detainees released over the past year or more from U.S.-run prisons in Iraq. (A senior Iraq interior ministry official told AFP that the two suicide bombers and a majority of suspects in the Aug. 19 Baghdad bombings had recently been released from U.S.-run Camp Bucca.) I'm talking about high-level, known killers of Americans in Iraq, such as Laith al-Khazali, who, along with four fellow Iranian-backed operatives, was released in July.

As Boston Globe columnist Kevin Cullen noted, al-Khazali is a leader of Asaib al-Haq, an Iranian-backed "special group" that in 2007 kidnapped and killed five American soldiers. Later, the group kidnapped five British contractors, three of whom are known dead. Ghazali's release, a U.S. military spokesman told the New York Times, came as "part of a reconciliation effort between the government of Iraq and Asaib al-Haq."

How sweet. But, Cullen wondered, if the United States can forgive al-Khazali, why can't the U.S. forgive Larry Hutchins? "So Larry Hutchins, killer of a single Iraqi, sits in prison while Laith al-Khazli, killer of many Americans, enjoys his freedom and his family."

I'm not sure how much "family" such a jihadist "enjoys," but however much it's a courtesy of the U.S. government most merciful — at least toward Shiite terrorists with American blood on their hands. In September, more than 100 more Iraqi Shiites belonging to al-Ghazali's group were released. Also released this year was Mahmud Farhadi, whom Bill Roggio of the Long War Journal describes as a key Iranian leader in the Ramazan Corps, which, Roggio writes, "is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of U.S. soldiers in Iraq."

I don't mean to equate Iraqi and Iranian terrorists with U.S. soldiers. But I do mean to question a government that frees its enemies in a sham of "reconciliation" and leaves its soldiers to rot in a sham of "justice."

And I challenge readers to do the same.

Bibi's bad week

Israel is fast approaching a position from which there will be no escape.  Obama is systematically withdrawing support while imposing more and more impossible demands.  The Arabs surrounding Israel are growing stronger and more unified.  Iran is hovering in the background waiting for the right time to trigger it's proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, Fatah and Syria.

Iran would benefit greatly from another attack on Israel by it's proxies as it would draw attention from the final stages of preparing nuclear missiles.

And in the midst of all this Netanyahu dithers and offers concessions to Obama instead of telling him to back off and let Israel take care of itself.

And so this is not just "Bibi's bad week" but it's Israel's bad week.

So goes Israel, so goes the West
.

FROM JEWISHWORLDREVIEW.COM:

Bibi's bad week
By Caroline B. Glick

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu weakened Israel this week. And he did so for no good reason.

Thursday's headlines told the tale. The day after Netanyahu bowed to US pressure and announced a total freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria for ten months, Yediot Ahronot reported that the Obama administration now wants Israel to release a thousand Fatah terrorists from prison.

The Americans also want Israel to allow US-trained, terror supporting Fatah paramilitary forces to deploy in areas that are currently under Israeli military control. Moreover, the Americans are demanding that Israel surrender land in the strategically crucial Jordan Valley to Fatah.

And these are just American preconditions for starting negotiations with the Palestinians. According to Yediot, if those talks ever begin, the White House will demand that Israel accept a Palestinian state in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and Gaza and agree to ethically cleanse all the areas of Jews.
So far from winning American support or at least causing the White House to ease its bullying, US President Barack Obama sees Netanyahu's decision to implement a militarily irrational, bigoted policy of prohibiting Jews from building in Israel's heartland as a drop in the bucket.

The truth is that Israel should not be in the business of negotiating the right of Israeli cities and villages to exist and prosper. The notion that it is acceptable to demand that Jews not be permitted to live in Judea and Samaria — or anywhere else in the world — is not a notion that Israel should countenance.

That being said, putting the so-called "settlements" genie back in the bottle is a tall order. After all, Israel agreed to place it on the table in the 1993 Oslo agreements and made its willingness to dry out Jewish communities explicit with its acceptance of the so-called road map in 2004. To take Israeli communities off the agenda it would be necessary to repudiate these deals.

Given what it will take to remove Jewish communities from the negotiations chopping block, it makes sense that Netanyahu has not moved in that direction since taking office. But willingness to discuss these communities is not the same as giving them away for nothing. In discussing the dispositions of these towns and villages, at a minimum Netanyahu should have taken advantage of the fact that the Americans, the Europeans and the Arabs all consider the so-called "settlements" to be the most important obstacle to peace.

Netanyahu should have capitalized on US Congressman and Obama ally Robert Wexler's statement from last July that in exchange for freezing Jewish construction, Israel would gain normalized relations with all Arab League member states. Were Israel to see 20 Arab embassies opening in exchange for a temporary freeze in Jewish construction one could say that Netanyahu's massive concession was justified.

But Netanyahu decided to give away this high card — Israel's ace of spades as it were — for free. Actually, he paid for it.

Man gets life after court rejects appeal for sister's 'honour killing'

Good on Germany.  This German judge recognizes an honor killing for what it is and isn't afraid to say so.  Unlike here in America, the Germans have a lot more experience with Islamic honor killings, but that will change as American Muslims commit more honor killings.  Hopefully, it won't take much longer for America to wake up from it's politically correct sleepwalk and confront the Islamic invasion head on.

Man gets life after court rejects appeal for sister's 'honour killing'
Published: 26 Nov 09 14:02 CET

A German-Afghan man who stabbed his teenage sister to death in a grisly "honour killing" was sentenced to life imprisonment after a court in Karlsruhe rejected his appeal on Thursday.

In a crime that outraged Germany, the man, identified only as Ahmad-Sobair O. knifed his 16-year-old sister Morsal 23 times as he believed she brought dishonour to their family by wearing Western-style clothes and make-up.

The Federal Court of Justice said it was "convinced that the accused committed the crime because his sister, in his opinion, had 'stained the family's honour'."

The court rejected the appeal that the man was psychologically deranged and upheld the initial judgement by a lower court in Hamburg, in the north of the country.

The killer, aged 24 at the time, had said during his trial that he was "sorry from the bottom of his heart" for his actions. "That was my sister and I loved her," he told the court, breaking down in tears.

Germany has been shocked by around 50 so-called "honour killings" since 1996, mainly in the country's large Turkish diaspora.

We Ain't Seen Nothing Yet

Victor David Hanson presents a pretty glum summation of things in America.

FROM JEWISHWORLDREVIEW.COM:

We Ain't Seen Nothing Yet
By Victor Davis Hanson

When it comes to the problems facing this country, an old slogan comes to mind: "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet."

High unemployment, the recession and a terrorist resurgence in Afghanistan are bad enough. But there are a number of problems on the horizon that could dwarf President Obama's first-year trials.

Why the pessimism? In short, we are doing nothing to prepare for the crises to come.

A global recession has led to low oil prices. Yet in this window of opportunity, America has not decreased its foreign-oil dependence. We are not encouraging domestic exploration. And we are still ambivalent on nuclear power.

But as the world economy recovers, oil will probably surge back over $100 a barrel, increasing our oil import tab by 25 percent or more. The Obama administration, though, mostly is obsessed with subsidizing relatively small amounts of wind and solar power. It likely won't be long before angry motorists at the pump are demanding to know why we have not pushed for more development at home of still-plentiful natural gas and oil fields.

Meanwhile, other economic bad news may be just around the corner. Today, interest rates on short-term Treasury bills still are less than 1 percent. But they, too, will climb as business picks up and worries over American inflation spread.

If we have to pay foreign lenders 5 percent to 7 percent interest on our debt, as in the past, the increased costs will gobble up additional billions from our annual budget. Yet sadly again, we are missing this rare opportunity of low interest to pay off cheaply the trillions that we already owe. Instead, we are borrowing even more!

The war on terror is also heating up again. Fairly or not, the Fort Hood massacre sent the message that the United States is more worried about appearing politically correct in matters of diversity than hunting down radical Islamists on its home soil. Those who seek to copy what happened at Fort Hood will be encouraged. And those charged with stopping them discouraged and confused.

Such uncertainty was reinforced by the attorney general's optional decision to try the architects of 9/11 in federal courts in New York City. At best, the confessed mass-murderer Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will lecture the United States. At worst, one sympathetic juror could find the monster only 99 percent guilty, and therefore the court might fail to convict him of planning the murders of 3,000 innocent people.

After announcing a new strategy of counter-insurgency in March, and appointing Gen. Stanley McChrystal the new supreme commander in Afghanistan, it looks like Obama only now will commit more troops to Afghanistan. That will be a wise decision — but one coming three months after the generals' request.

We were given an unexpected reprieve through the defeat of al-Qaida in Iraq. We can now build on that victory by routing the Taliban in the way the Iraq surge stabilized democracy there.

Finally, there is an array of taxes on the horizon — increased federal income tax rates; promised hikes in health-care surcharge taxes; and even rumors of value-added federal sales taxes. These increases are said to be aimed at the proverbial wealthy. But that could change — given that the top 5 percent of households already provide 60 percent of the nation's income-tax revenue. And many are already paying 50 percent to 60 percent of their incomes in combined local, state, federal and payroll taxes.

Just consider. The price of gas will soon likely increase. The cost of servicing our profligate borrowing will, too. One more terrorist attack like at Fort Hood, or nightly sermons from a grandstanding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, or a new Taliban offensive, and the momentum could shift to radical Islam in their decades-long war against the United States. Next year's tax hikes will be real and large — and no longer just this year's idle talk.

As these storm clouds gather, Congress bickers on Saturday nights about borrowing even more money for health-care reform, yet another federal entitlement.

If you thought things have been rough so far, hang on, 'cause you ain't seen nothing yet.

Hasan: A Good Muslim

This article sums up exactly why Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is a good and pious Muslim, and not a psychotic murderer.  Islam is what drove him to commit murder in the name of Jihad.

FROM FAMILYSECURITYMATTERS.ORG:

Hasan: A Good Muslim
Bill Siegel

Nationally syndicated talk radio host Monica Crowley once asked the team of psychiatrists at the Guantanamo Bay detainee facility to describe the difference between psychological disorder and committed Jihadism. They had no answer.

Much of the mainstream media has, at least subtly if not directly, attempted to distinguish Dr. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan as mentally ill as opposed to being a Jihadi, a radical Muslim committing a terrorist act in living out his Muslim calling. The presuppositions here are essentially that (1) it is prejudice alone that leads one to blame Hasan’s behavior on his Muslim background and (2) most Muslims are, like the rest of us, “good” people. What makes one commit such heinous acts is independent of being a Muslim. Rather, if placed under enough stress, we are all capable of “losing it” or “snapping.” Hence, psychological imbalance is what distinguishes Hasan from the rest of us and from “good Muslims.”

For every psychological theory there is at least another that can discredit it. And psychology is still far from an empirical science despite the intentions of its most ardent practitioners. Nonetheless, some general principles seem to long hold center stage. Most neurotic disorders can be described as resulting from conflicting deeply held beliefs. A series of conflicts creates a tension that has greater control over the subject’s life than the subject desires. Psychosis, of course, involves, among other things, more extreme forms of conflicts in which the beliefs themselves often do not match those fundamental to the surrounding society. The more severe the conflict, the greater the disorder and difficulty in bringing about change.

All of this, of course, relates to the underlying values of the culture in which the subject lives. In the West, we believe in certain fundamental values such that killing – except in the case of self defense – is strictly forbidden. It is presumed, then, that anyone who engages in such behavior must have some severe conflict that “drives” him to such act. In our criminal system, in certain usually rare circumstances, the insanity defense may be applicable. But even if a defendant is deemed to have fully understood the consequences of his acts, he is still considered psychologically impaired simply by virtue of his committing the act.

And that is the simple issue. The West has become so accustomed to imputing some psychological disorder whenever a severely inappropriate act is committed that it has difficulty letting go of the habit in the face of other explanations.

Yet Islam is an entirely different animal, so to speak. There are an estimated billion plus Muslims worldwide. Political correctness requires every non-Muslim to state each time he speaks of Islam that “most Muslims are peaceful people.” No one, however, has ever shown the evidence for such a statement or clarified exactly what “peaceful” means in these circumstances. There is much startling data showing how widespread supposed “radical Islam” is, including a 2006 poll in Britain showing 40 percent of the Muslims considered themselves such, up from 15 percent in 2001. And this is in Britain, a non-Muslim controlled country. Yet even 15 percent of 1.2 billion radical Muslims is a large number of adherents (more than half the population of the U.S.) who want the West destroyed.

How Muslim Piracy Changed the World!

Here's a history lesson which explains the reasons behind the sudden collapse of classical European society due to Muslim invasions and the subsequent discovery of the New World by Columbus.  So in the long run, Western society owes its expansion and resurgence to having to find ways around the barbaric Islamic Middle East.

FROM ISLAM-WATCH.ORG:

How Muslim Piracy Changed the World!

Thursday, 12 November 2009 08:29
John J. O'Neill
Islamic piracy, especially in the Mediterranean waters and European coastal areas and terrotories, had an impact that went far beyond the economic impoverishment of Europe...

In my recently-published book, "Holy Warriors: Islam and the Demise of Classical Civilization", I have argued that it was the coming of Islam, in the mid-seventh century, which effectively brought the Classical Civilization of Greece and Rome to an end and initiated the Middle Ages. There I showed that the Muslim conquest of the Middle East and North Africa, from the 630s onwards, closed those areas to trade from Europe; and the consequent impoverishment of the latter led to the decline of the urban centers, which had been the powerhouses of Classical culture.

But it was not war alone that brought this about. After all, from the beginning of history, empires had come and gone around the shores of the Middle Sea, yet trade and economic life had continued. With the rise of Islam, it is clear, this did not happen. All trade between the Christian West (and Christian East) and the newly-Islamic East was terminated, definitively. We know this for certain by the data brought forth by Henri Pirenne and others. Why did it happen? Did the Caliphs forbid merchants to trade with infidels?
The truth is far worse.

One of the fundamentals of the Islamic faith was the acceptability, even the duty, of Muslims to wage war against the infidel. Islam divided the world into two starkly opposing camps: that of Islam, the Dar al-Islam, and that of the unbelievers, which was known as the Dar al-Harb. But Dar al-Harb literally means 'House of War'.

Jihad or Holy War, as we have seen, was a fundamental duty of all Muslim rulers. Truces were allowed, but never a lasting peace. (See e.g. Koran 8:40 and 9:124). In the words of medieval historian Robert Irwin, “Since the jihad [was] …a state of permanent war, it excluded] …the possibility of true peace, but it [did] …allow for provisional truces in accordance with the requirements of the political situation” [Robert Irwin, “Islam and the Crusades: 1096-1699,” Jonathan Riley-Smith ed., The Oxford History of the Crusades, Oxford, 1995, pp. 237]. Also, “Muslim religious law could not countenance the formal conclusion of any sort of permanent peace with the infidel” (Ibid). In such circumstances, it is evident that, when the Islamic forces were in a position of strength, almost all contact between them and the outside world was warlike. And this was not war as is waged between two kingdoms, empires, or dynasties: This was total war, war that did not distinguish between combatants and non-combatants, and war that did not end. In this spirit, Islamic generals launched attack after attack against the southern shores of Europe during the seventh and eighth centuries; and these “official” actions were supplemented by hundreds, even thousands, of lesser raids, carried out by minor Muslim commanders and even by private individuals: For it was considered legitimate that the Muslim faithful should live off the infidel world. Whatever spoils could be taken, were divinely sanctioned.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist

Here are pictures of two of the Blackwater operators murdered and mutilated under the command of Islamic terrorist Ahmed Hashim Abed captured by the SEALS.

This is the latest outrage by the Barack Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama administration.  To allow these bogus charges to go forward is another means the administration is using to suppress the honest pursuit of Muslim terrorism.  The three SEALS have rightly chosen to demand full courts marshals so that these politically motivated charges can be exposed to the light of day.  It is a well known ploy of Muslim terrorists to falsely claim they have been tortured and abused.  Islamic terrorists are quite willing to die for Islam, therefore this one is likely to have hit himself in the mouth to provide "evidence" of abuse.

I find it extremely unlikely that any SEAL would ever jeopardize a prosecution of a terrorist just to give him a fat lip.  Those men are the most highly trained and disciplined warriors we have.

FROM FOXNEWS.COM:

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.

Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.

Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.

The three SEALs will be arraigned separately on Dec. 7. Another three SEALs — two officers and an enlisted sailor — have been identified by investigators as witnesses but have not been charged.

FoxNews.com obtained the official handwritten statement from one of the three witnesses given on Sept. 3, hours after Abed was captured and still being held at the SEAL base at Camp Baharia. He was later taken to a cell in the U.S.-operated Green Zone in Baghdad.

The SEAL told investigators he had showered after the mission, gone to the kitchen and then decided to look in on the detainee.

"I gave the detainee a glance over and then left," the SEAL wrote. "I did not notice anything wrong with the detainee and he appeared in good health."

Lt. Col. Holly Silkman, spokeswoman for the special operations component of U.S. Central Command, confirmed Tuesday to FoxNews.com that three SEALs have been charged in connection with the capture of a detainee. She said their court martial is scheduled for January.

United States Central Command declined to discuss the detainee, but a legal source told FoxNews.com that the detainee was turned over to Iraqi authorities, to whom he made the abuse complaints. He was then returned to American custody. The SEAL leader reported the charge up the chain of command, and an investigation ensued.
The source said intelligence briefings provided to the SEALs stated that "Objective Amber" planned the 2004 Fallujah ambush, and "they had been tracking this guy for some time."

The Fallujah atrocity came to symbolize the brutality of the enemy in Iraq and the degree to which a homegrown insurgency was extending its grip over Iraq.
The four Blackwater agents were transporting supplies for a catering company when they were ambushed and killed by gunfire and grenades. Insurgents burned the bodies and dragged them through the city. They hanged two of the bodies on a bridge over the Euphrates River for the world press to photograph.
Intelligence sources identified Abed as the ringleader, but he had evaded capture until September.

The military is sensitive to charges of detainee abuse highlighted in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. The Navy charged four SEALs with abuse in 2004 in connection with detainee treatment.

Under the Islamic Veil Faces Disfigured By Acid

More faces of the horror of Islam.  While these atrocities are not universal in Islam, they are only found in Islamic countries and perpetrated by male Muslims on women and young girls

Under the Islamic Veil Faces Disfigured By Acid

Posted By Phyllis Chesler On November 23, 2009 @ 12:31 pm

These photos show what happens to real women who wear the Islamic Veil. The photos depict horrifying hate and the unbearable suffering it inflicts upon female innocents. The photos were taken by Emilio Morenatti of the Associated Press. The text is based on work done by Nicholas Kristof—one of the few people at the New York Times whose work I am proud to quote. You may find them HERE (Thanks to Yehuda for calling this to my attention).

What are we seeing?

The Arabization or the Saudi-ization of Muslims in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan is the hidden hand behind these acid attacks upon women. These poor girls and women have had their lives ruined; some have been forced to undergo surgery 20-30 times in order that they may see a little, or breathe a bit, hear something, perhaps in order to eat or make themselves understood. They look like…monsters. That was what their attackers wanted to accomplish. To render their faces into self-portraits of their attackers.

Why was acid thrown into their faces? The main reasons are because they dared to reject someone in marriage or because they wanted a divorce. The “jilted” suitors (or husbands) took their revenge in this fashion. If he can’t have her, no man will; I will make sure that no man will ever want her.” One young girl was gang-raped aftger which her rapists threw acid on her face. Another committed the “crime” of disappointing her father by being born female, not male. Many were disfigured as a result of a “family dispute.”
Thus, the punishment for being born female, for exercising any will of one’s own is, Saudi-style, the most horrible punishment. The men tried to make the women loathsome to humanity, to sentence them to painful surgeries, self-hatred, perhaps to lives lived in isolation.

Make no mistake. This tendency to disfigure women–even those who wear the Islamic Veil–is real. And, it might be coming our way if we do not stop the Wahhabi and Salafi influence which is funding our universities in North America as well as the Islamic religious schools.

For once, I will leave aside the question of what must be done and allow the photos to speak to you.

12 Saira Liaqat, 26, poses for the camera as she holds a portrait of herself before being burned, at her home in Lahore, Pakistan, Wednesday, July 9, 2008. When she was fifteen, Saira was married to a relative who would later attack her with acid after insistently demanding her to live with him, although the families had agreed she wouldn't join him until she finished school. Saira has undergone plastic surgery 9 times to try to recover from her scars.

Whose side are they on?

Referring to the Obama administration Frank Gaffney is being extremely polite and civil with his question: "Whose side are they on?"  My take is that Barack Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama is a closet Muslim using the tools of Socialism to weaken America and allow Islamic fundamentalism to ultimately impose Sharia law on the country.  Obama's political allies are naive enough to believe that he only wants to impose Socialism and so are his willing useful idiots.  Little do they know that if Sharia is imposed, they will be among the first to have to accept Islam or live as dhimmis.

FROM JEWISHWORLDREVIEW.COM:

Whose side are they on?
By Frank J. Gaffney, Jr.

An unsettling question has begun to nag as Team Obama's conduct of security policy becomes ever more inconsistent with common sense - and, at least in some cases, manifestly at odds with our national interests: Whose side are they on?

Consider the following illustrative examples of such troubling behavior:

The Obama administration has done everything possible to obscure the true nature of the jihadist attack perpetrated at Fort Hood, Texas earlier this month. Unfortunately, it may not be merely complicating the prosecution of the alleged perpetrator, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. For instance, terrorism expert Steve Emerson has warned that, by charging Hasan only with murder rather than terrorist acts, the Justice Department is denying investigators tools available to law enforcement under the counter-terrorism Patriot Act.

Worse yet, by denying the role played in this attack by Hasan's adherence to the seditious, jihadist program authoritative Islam calls "Shariah," the administration can only compound the problem that has been illuminated by the investigation to date: The collective refusal of the Army, the intelligence services, the FBI and the U.S. government more generally to act against an individual with such proclivities.

This refusal goes beyond "political correctness." It reflects more than an understandable reluctance to risk the retribution to careers and livelihoods associated with being labeled "racists," "bigots" and "Islamophobes." It amounts, as a practical matter, to submission to the dictates of Shariah. And Americans are understandably horrified by the extent to which this practice has been -and is - affecting the capacities of those responsible for keeping us safe.

Rep. Keith Ellison, the Islamists' Man on Capitol Hill

Representative Keith Ellison continues to place Islam above the Constitution of the United States and his oath to defend it.  He is of course, only being a good and pious Muslim and following the Koranic demand to make Islam dominate over all of mankind.

This is exactly why no Muslim should ever hold elected office.  In the final analysis, Muslims will choose Islam over any secular system.

Having taken an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, Keith is on the thin edge of committing treason.  He certainly is not taking the side of America.

As a U.S. representative, Keith Ellison's primary responsibility is to represent his constituents in Minnesota's 5th congressional district.
The first Muslim elected to Congress, Ellison, a Democrat, also seems to feel an obligation to be the voice of Muslim Americans in Washington. That alone would not be an issue. But in his two terms, he has established a disturbing record of promoting and defending radical Islamists who hide beneath a veneer of moderation.

When those organizations are criticized, Ellison often jumps to their defense. He also travels the country to raise money on their behalf. In 2009, Ellison spoke at three fundraising dinners for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and provided videotaped remarks at others, including the CAIR-Sacramento Valley dinner last weekend. He also appeared with CAIR officials at events on health care reform and celebrating the Muslim Eid holiday.

Last month, Ellison took to the House floor to rebuke four colleagues who called for an investigation of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and whether it was targeting offices tied to committees on the judiciary, homeland security and intelligence to place interns. According to the book Muslim Mafia, internal CAIR records show the group sought to infiltrate those congressional offices.

Berlin to send observers to 9/11 trials

Here we find that the Obama administration has struck a deal with Germany to not use any evidence provided by Germany during the trials of the five confessed 9/11 conspirators.  Germany does not have the death penalty, and evidently has persuaded Barack Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama to honor German law in his show trial in New York.

This of course begs the question, what evidence from countries without the death penalty will be withheld for the same reason?  No member of the EU has the death penalty and much of the plotting of the 9/11 attacks took place in EU countries.  So that implies evidence gathered there will not be admissible.

The more information that comes to light about these so called trials, the more it looks like an orchestrated stage show for the terrorists to attack the US through the courts, and quite possibly avoid the death penalty.

And so the real reason for these trials on US soil becomes more clear:  a platform for the Obama administration to weaken our ability to fight the global jihad.

Once upon a time, such actions would be considered treason.  But in our upside down, multi-cultural, politically correct era, defending against any who would attack us is seen as fill-in-the-blank-phobic.

Weather these prohibitions will apply to those tried by military tribunals is yet to be seen.

Such a deal has huge ramifications for the future disposition of accused Muslim terrorists because, if the US does impose the death penalty in these cases, we may find our allies will no longer cooperate in the pursuit of the Global Jihad.

Berlin to send observers to 9/11 trials
Published: 23 Nov 09 15:00 CET

Germany will send observers to the trials of the five men suspected of plotting the September 11 terrorist attacks to ensure they are not sentenced to death on the basis of evidence provided by Berlin, a spokesman said on Monday.
Nov 09)

Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger "has made clear that observers will follow the trial," her spokesman said at a regular government news conference.

She expects a deal struck between Berlin and Washington that elements of evidence obtained in Germany will not be used to condemn the men to death "would be respected," the spokesman added.

The September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York and the Pentagon in Washington were partly planned in Hamburg, in northern Germany. Like other EU member states, Germany has no death penalty.

The five men, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, face trial at a courthouse close to Ground Zero, where thousands died after Al-Qaida extremists flew hijacked airliners into the twin towers of the World Trade Centre.

US President Barack Obama, defending plans to try the men in a civilian court, predicted last week that Sheikh Mohammed would be convicted and said the death sentence applied to him.

Lawyer: 9/11 Defendants Will Tell Jury 'Why They Did It'

Thanks, Barack Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama for providing a global stage for the Muslims responsible for the mass murders on 9/11. Here they go already, not even in the courtroom and they are crowing to the world that they will use the American justice system to justify their reasons for the mass murders on 9/11.  There can be no legal justification for bringing these mass murderers onto American soil as they were in the process of being tried before a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay.  That is, until you stopped the tribunals.

So Mr. President, your plan to provide a venue for the airing of the justification for Islamic mass murder of non-Muslims goes ahead faster than you had dared hope.  Your fellow travelers in Islam are already using the justice system to further the cause of Global Jihad.

Lawyer: 9/11 Defendants Will Tell Jury 'Why They Did It'

NEW YORK  —  The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, said the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but "would explain what happened and why they did it."

The U.S. Justice Department announced earlier this month that Ali and four other men accused of murdering nearly 3,000 people in the nation's deadliest terrorist attack will face a civilian federal trial just blocks from the World Trade Center site.

Ali, also known as Ammar al-Baluchi, is a nephew of professed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
Mohammed, Ali and the others will explain "their assessment of American foreign policy," Fenstermaker said.
"Their assessment is negative," he said.

Fenstermaker met with Ali last week at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He has not spoken with the others but said the men have discussed the trial among themselves.

Pentagon Transcript of Confession (pdf)

Fenstermaker was first quoted in The New York Times in Sunday's editions.
Critics of Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to try the men in a New York City civilian courthourse have warned that the trial would provide the defendants with a propaganda platform.

Dean Boyd, a spokesman for the Department of Justice, said Sunday that while the men may attempt to use the trial to express their views, "we have full confidence in the ability of the courts and in particular the federal judge who may preside over the trial to ensure that the proceeding is conducted appropriately and with minimal disrupton, as federal courts have done in the past."

Grandmother jailed for ordering kidnap and torture of son-in-law over unpaid £25,000 dowry

Dear old Granny has her sons beat her son-in-aw because he did not pay off his dowry cost.  In other words, Granny sold her daughter and son-in-law welched on the debt.  Move along, nothing to see here, just business as usual in the Muslim world, buying and selling women.

FROM DAILYMAIL.CO.UK:

Grandmother jailed for ordering kidnap and torture of son-in-law over unpaid £25,000 dowry
By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 10:46 AM on 20th November 2009

A grandmother who ordered the kidnap and torture of her son-in-law over a £25,000 unpaid dowry has been jailed for seven years.
Sufia Khatun, 70, told sons Abu Hasnath, 40, and Abu Jahinger, 26, to 'finish off' Abul Kalam during a terrifying eight-hour ordeal.

In a 'wicked, gratuitous and vindictive' attack, Mr Kalam was repeatedly beaten and told he would be murdered and buried in Epping Forest if his relatives did not pay up.

The victim was left with a badly fractured skull and had to have a metal plate inserted in his eye socket, Southwark Crown Court heard.
Khatun, Hasnath and Jahinger were each jailed for seven years after they were convicted of kidnap, false imprisonment, blackmail and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent.

Judge Anthony Beddoe told Khatun: 'You were the one who directed your sons to do what they have done.
'You were in my judgement the prime mover as far as these events are concerned. You were the head of the family, and in a position to have stopped your sons.'

The victim had written to the court begging for mercy for his in-laws.
But Judge Beddoe said: 'Obligation to obey the laws of this land transcends cultural, social or other pressures. Those pressures cannot excuse offending as serious or vindictive as this is.
'This was a wicked enterprise, carried out for monetary gain, involving the forced detention of another human being, who with good reason thought he might lose his life that day.'

He described the beatings as 'quite gratuitous' and added: 'None of you has expressed any remorse for what happened that day.'
The defendants showed no reaction as sentence was passed, but relatives in the public gallery buried their heads in their hands and wailed.
Mr Kalam had married Khatun's daughter Momataz Chowdry, but the pair separated with £25,000 of the dowry outstanding.

After a series of failed negotiations over the unpaid cash, Khatun ordered Hasnath and Jahinger to seize the victim and bring him to the family home in East Ham.

Jahinger confronted the victim on May 20 last year and warned him he would be shot dead if he didn't follow him to a car nearby.
In his evidence to the court, Mr Kalam said the pair set upon him as soon as he entered their house.

BOSNIAN SOLDIER PENNED OKLAHOMA CITY-STYLE BOMB INSTRUCTIONS FOR AFGHANIS

The tangled web of international Islamic terrorism is growing geometrically.  British terrorists shuttle back and forth to Pakistan, French terrorist shuttle to and from Morocco, German terrorists have many ties to Turkey, Saudi terrorists infest America, Somali terrorists are colonizing American cities.  It's therefore no surprise that Bosnian terrorists are linked to Iraq.  Bosnia has been an al Qaeda breeding ground for decades.   Indonesia is rapidly coming under total control of Islamists.  The Philippines have ceded control of some areas to Sharia law.  Saudi Arabia builds radical Wahhabi mosques throughout the West.  Iran drives toward nuclear bombs and missiles and sponsors terrorism throughout the Middle East.  And everywhere there are Muslims, there is explosive population growth.

The current Jihad operates on a global scale. And yet, the West refuses to acknowledge the threat, much less come together to fight off the greatest threat in history.  We are rapidly coming to a tipping point after which we will be fighting in the streets to repel the Islamic invasion.

BOSNIAN SOLDIER PENNED OKLAHOMA CITY-STYLE BOMB INSTRUCTIONS FOR AFGHANIS
By Julia Gorin

In a monumental cover-up that only begins to approximate the colossal, decentralized conspiracy that brought you an Islamic Bosnia and a KKKLA Kosovo and revived Hitler’s Independent State of Croatia, our “security” and “intelligence” agencies, along with all of Congress, have been keeping from you the obvious fact that the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing was an al-Qaeda plot involving several Iraqis. It was because of the Clinton-directed coverup of Oklahoma City that the Bush administration couldn’t tell you the real Iraq-9/11 connection, and why during the pre-Iraq hearings all that Dick Cheney could manage was: “There’s a connection. There’s a connection.”

Oklahoma-based investigative reporter Jayna Davis was all over national media in 2002 about this, but then disappeared from the airwaves when no one was interested in pursuing her story to its logical conclusion: that our law enforcement agencies are just as capable of doing the opposite of protecting us.

The night before the start of Tim McVeigh’s trial in 1997, she tendered her resignation at her ABC-affiliate station KFOR-TV that had recently been bought by the NY Times, which had no intention of publicizing a Middle East connection to the bombing. Only Bill Clinton’s Rush Limbaugh connection.

Not only were Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols front men for an extensive Middle Eastern operation that included mostly Iraqis but also Palestinians and others, but on pages 270-71 of her 2004 book The Third Terrorist, Davis reports what American troops found when they arrived in Afghanistan in October 2001:

Validation arrived in October 2001 when President Bush deployed U.S. troops to eradicate the fanatical ruling Talibain in Afghanistan. Strewn across the basement floor of a Kabul mansion which once housed a hideout and makeshift headquarters for bin Laden loyalists was a do-it-yourself guidebook to construct an “Oklahoma-style” bomb. A Bosnian soldier in the Al-Qaeda army of terrorists had penned the step-by-step instructions and components needed to replicate the Murrah Building explosive device.

What a shocking discovery that Timothy McVeigh’s legendary bomb-making skills were referenced halfway around the world, being emulated as an effective technique in the terrorists’ toolbox! Imagine the incredulity on the faces of bin Laden’s devotees upon hearing they would implement a bomb formula which McVeigh perfected through exhaustive research from a book checked out at a Kingman, Arizona, public library. In the sage words of Stephen Jones that McVeigh “couldn’t blow up a rock,” the Afghanistan find transformed the Justice Department’s “lone bomber” theory into a work of science fiction.

On June 11, 2001 — the two-year anniversary of the official “end” of our latest war against Serbs as we fortified “their” enemies — Timothy McVeigh was executed. That night, America closed its eyes and soundly went to sleep. We woke up exactly three months later.

The unanimous glee over McVeigh’s execution had to do not only with the “whiteness” of the terrorist, but also with the fact that he would take his secrets with him — and even the mainstream news accounts at the time revealed that there was much he wasn’t revealing. The public and our law enforcement were happy to not look any deeper, affording ourselves some denial and the illusion of safety. But the attack to take place three months later would lead investigators right back to Bosnia, where five of the 9/11 hijackers trained, fought, or had citizenship — and to Albania and Kosovo.

Behind Missed Gitmo Deadline: Detainees Unwanted

Once again I will beat the drum to have all captured Muslim terrorists imprisoned on prison ships, in international waters.  This will require the simple adoption of the Geneva Conventions to cover the legal requirements of incarcerating them until the end of hostilities, without trial.  Frankly, as the Islamic Jihad will carry on for decades, many terrorist prisoners will die in  of old age before they could possibly be tried or released.  But that's war.  As with Japanese and Nazi leaders, they need not be tried until Islam stops it's attacks on Western civilization.  If at that time, those Muslim leaders who are incarcerated should be brought before MILITARY tribunals, not civilian courts.  The same holds true of lower level individuals who may be suspected to have committed war crimes and or crimes against humanity.  It was unimaginable during and immediately after WW II that high ranking Nazis and Japanese leaders would be tried in civilian courts for war crimes.

So we are now saddled with Barack Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama's political campaign promise to close Guantanamo Bay prison.  Because no other nation is stupid enough to take these worst of the worst Muslim terrorists, Obama has decided to proceed with civilian trials for the top five terrorists, but to hold Military tribunals for remaining prisoners. So he says.  But the plan for military tribunals is just a ploy.  If he can get away with the first five, the rest will surely follow into the civilian system.

And of course, what are his plans for all the Muslim terrorists that will be captured in the years to come?  He has already issued an executive order that they are to be "Mirandized" on the battlefield, so his plan must be to ship them directly to America.  I haven't seen anything that indicates just what is happening to those we capture now.  Are they being held incognito in US military prisons in the AfPak theater?  Are they being turned over the AfPak authorities?  If they are being turned over to the AfPak authorities, many of them will be turned free by sympathetic fellow Muslim jailers to resume their attacks.

There must be international consensus to hold captured Muslim terrorists, wherever they may be caught in the world, on prison ships for the duration of hostilities.  The Islamic Jihad recognizes no time limit, and so the West must not recognize any time limit on how long Muslim terrorists can be held.

Trials are for the victors to hold, and we are far from victory.

FROM NEWSMAX.COM:

Behind Missed Gitmo Deadline: Detainees Unwanted

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- President Barack Obama is now confirming what many have long suspected: He will miss his January deadline to close the Guantanamo prison -- partly because he cannot persuade other nations to take the detainees.
Prisoners like Walid Abu Hijazi. The 29-year-old is nearing his eighth year at Guantanamo even though the U.S. approved his release in February 2008. No one else has been willing to allow him, or dozens of others, into their territory.

This dilemma is one of the chief obstacles to closing the jail, according to lawyers and human rights groups who monitor U.S. detention policy. Most say Washington bears the main blame because it also refuses to accept prisoners on American soil.

"It's very difficult to persuade third countries to accept the political or security risks involved, especially when the United States has been unwilling to accept that risk itself," said Matthew Waxman, a professor at Columbia Law School.
U.S. officials decline to disclose the details of efforts to relocate Guantanamo prisoners, though in the past they acknowledged the difficulty in resettling ethnic Uighurs from China.

In Abu Hijazi's case, his Chicago-based lawyer, Matthew O'Hara, said he can only speculate that the problem with relocating his client is that the U.S. has no relations with Hamas, the Islamic militant group that controls the Gaza Strip, where Abu Hijazi is from.
No charges were ever filed against Abu Hijazi. O'Hara said his client told a military review panel he trained for two weeks at a militant camp in Afghanistan but never fired a weapon except in training and denied being part of the Taliban or al-Qaida.
"He's hanging in there," the lawyer said. "The men there generally have learned not to get their hopes up."

O'Hara doesn't see a possibility of his client being accepted elsewhere.
"Our friends and allies around the world say, 'If you don't want them, why should we take them?' That, I think, is the key obstacle," he said.
The administration says about 90 of the 215 men now held at the U.S. military base at Guantanamo Bay on Cuba can be released or repatriated, but it has made little progress since Obama announced shortly after his inauguration that he would close the widely criticized prison.

Obama suggests 911 suspect will get death penalty

Mr. Dithers continues to twiddle his thumbs and look to his teleprompters for a solution as what to do about Muslim terrorism.  Actually, he must first publicly acknowledge that there is such a thing as Muslim terrorism.  But that would require him to turn on his fellow Muslims.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama suggested on Wednesday the self-professed mastermind of the September 11, 2001, attacks would be convicted and put to death, but later said he was not trying to prejudge the trial.

Speaking in television interviews while traveling in Asia, Obama acknowledged he would miss his January 22 deadline to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is now held, but said he believed it would be shut next year.

Separately, Attorney General Eric Holder told lawmakers Mohammed and his accused four co-conspirators could be safely tried in New York despite Republican security concerns.
In testimony before Congress, Holder also said the federal government was open to paying for some of the added security costs, which a New York senator said could be upwards of $75 million a year.

Obama defended Holder's decision on Friday to move the five men from the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for a trial in a U.S. federal court in New York.
"(What) I think we have to break is this fearful notion that somehow our justice system can't handle these guys," Obama said in an interview with NBC News.
Asked if he understood why some people were offended by trying the men in U.S. courts, he replied: "I don't think it will be offensive at all when he's convicted and when the death penalty is applied to him."

He then backtracked, saying, "What I said was people will not be offended if that's outcome. I'm not prejudging" them.

Egypt: 15 Year Old Egyptian Convert to Christianity Sends Plea to Obama

Here is a piteous plea to Barack Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama from a young girl in Egypt for protection from her own countrymen because she converted from Islam to Christianity.  She and her father are living in hiding and in imminent danger of being murdered by Egyptian Muslim thugs, to include the Egyptian police.  Unfortunately the pretender in chief will never acknowledge her existence, much less her plight in Islamic Egypt.  He's much too busy bowing and scraping before foreign leaders to be aware of anything but his own reflection in the mirror.

Egypt: 15 Year Old Egyptian Convert to Christianity Sends Plea to Obama

15-year-old Egyptian girl Dina el-Gowhary, who converted from Islam to Christianity, has sent a plea to President Obama, complaining of mistreatment by the Egyptian Government and asking for his mediation. “Mr President Obama,” she writes, “we are a minority in Egypt. We are treated very badly. You said that the Muslim minority in America are treated very well, so why are we not treated here likewise? We are imprisoned in our own home because Muslim clerics called for the murder of my father, and now the Government has set for us a new prison, we are imprisoned in our own country.”

The handwritten Arabic letter, posted on Coptic websites, also says “I am 15 years old but I still have hope that my message will reach President Obama.”
The el-Gowhary family was barred from leaving Egypt on September 17, 2009 without any legal reason. They were told, however, that the order came from a higher authority (AINA 9-26-2009).

Dina, is the daughter of 57-year-old Maher el-Gowhary, also known by his Christian name Peter Athanasius, who embraced Christianity secretly 35 years ago. In August, 2008 he filed the second ever lawsuit of a Muslim-born Egyptian against the Egyptian Government to officially alter his identification documents to reflect his new Christian identity. He lost the case in June 2009. According to the Court ruling, the religious conversion of a Muslim is against Islamic Sharia law and poses a threat to the “Public Order” in Egypt. (AINA 6-16-2009). He appealed the ruling.

Maher and Dina have been living in hiding ever since he filed his lawsuit because Muslim clerics have called him an apostate and several Fatwas (religious edicts), for ’spilling his blood’ have been issued. He frequently changes where he lives to evade being killed, and friends supply him with food. “We cannot sleep, eat or go out in the street,” he said. He believes that the authorities are putting pressure on them (he and Dina) to re-convert back to Islam, “but this will never happen, even if we have to live on the streets. We love our Lord Jesus, and we have left Islam for good.”
