London: A hotbed of hatred against Islam?

The report "London: A hotbed of hatred against Islam?" from England mirrors the low number of religious "hate crimes" reported against Muslims in America.  Just by the numbers, Jews are the most persecuted folks on earth and yet they are not blowing themselves and other up in acts of random violence.

FROM: FBI.GOV:
Religious bias

Hate crimes motivated by religious bias accounted for 1,318 offenses reported by law enforcement. A breakdown of the bias motivation of religious-biased offenses showed:

    62.2 percent were anti-Jewish.
    13.3 percent were anti-Islamic.
    5.2 percent were anti-Catholic.
4.8 percent were anti-multiple religions, group.
    3.7 percent were anti-Protestant.
    0.3 percent were anti-Atheism/Agnosticism/etc.
    10.5 percent were anti-other religion.

London: A hotbed of hatred against Islam? Met Police reveal attacks have fallen every year

We’re forever being told that Britain is a hotbed of hatred for Islam, that those poor Muslims are victim to a rising tide of Islamophobia.

Bodies such as Tell MAMA point to rising hate crime reports – oooh, someone said a nasty word the Muslims don’t like online – and if someone so much as breaks wind next to a mosque it seems to make all the tabloids.

An interesting Freedom of Information release from the Metropolitan Police paints an entirely different picture, at least for the London area.

There, incidents recorded as hate crimes against Muslim religious premises have shown a dramatic fall in the last few years.

mosque_police2010/2011 saw 29 incidents recorded as hate crimes against mosques or Islamic centres.

By 2011/12 this was down to 21.

April 2012 til April 2013? A mere 9 incidents.

A massive reduction in incidents – no doubt we’ll be told that’s because such crimes are under-reported, or that police are failing to record them properly.

After all, can’t let the truth – that attacks on Muslim premises have actually decreased – get in the way of the fiction that Muslims are under siege from the evil, Islamophobic British people.
