PA: Arab States Cut Off Our Cash

Another example of Arab brotherhood.  I do believe that if every Arab refugee in Gaza and the West Bank disappeared tomorrow, the rest of the Arab world would give a sigh of relief.

FROM ISRAELNATIONALNEWS.COM:

PA: Arab States Cut Off Our Cash

by Gil Ronen

The General Accountant of the Palestinian Authority, Yusef Al-Zumar, said Monday that the PA is having difficulty paying its employees because Arab states are not giving it the financial aid that they promised it.
In 2010, he said, the PA only received $280 million of the $960 million promised by the Arabs. In 2011, which is almost half over, it has received no money at all.

Al-Zumar spelled out his woes in a meeting Monday that included Ali Al-Jarbawi, the PA’s Minister for Administrative Planning and Development, and Mariam Sherman, the World Bank Director in the PA.

Al-Zumar singled out the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, which he said transferred very small sums in 2010, compared to previous years. Qatar, he said, gave no aid at all in 2008 and 2009, and only a little aid in 2010.

According to PA news agency WAFA, the World Bank promised to grant $20 million to the PA for rebuilding infrastructures in Gaza. In addition, it will hand over the annual $55 million in aid.

Al-Jarbawi told Sherman that the PA would continue to build institutions of government with the Bank’s help.

PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said last year that the PA received $1.2 billion in foreign aid in 2010 and that this aid is expected to drop further in 2011 to $1 billion. The financial aid comes from United States, Japan, Canada, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Spain and France. The European Union also contributes aid to the PA, with a budget in 2010 equivalent to about $370 million.

The EU bailed out the PA last year after it spent 50% of the cash that was allotted for the entire year, in just three months.

Since the signing of the Oslo Accords, the PA has been the entity receiving the highest foreign aid per capita in the world.

PA affirms death penalty for land sales to Israelis

While Israel continues to restrict Israeli citizens from building in the West Bank and Jerusalem, the PA makes it a capitol offense for "Palestinians" to sell land to Israelis.

The solution is for the Israeli government to find it's backbone and send all West Bank and Jerusalem Muslims to Gaza.

The PA says the land law is necessary to prevent the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.
Talkbacks (33)

The Palestinian Authority on Sunday reaffirmed the death penalty for any Palestinian found guilty of selling land to Israelis.

The decision came in response to a ruling by a Palestinian court according to which such acts were only a “minor offense.”

PA Prosecutor-General Ahmed al-Mughni appealed against the ruling to a higher court, arguing that the sale of land to Israelis was a “major offense” punishable by death.

The appeal was accepted.

That verdict considering such offenses a major offense is aimed at reminding Palestinians of the PA law that prohibits selling land to Jews, Mughni said.

The land law, which was originally put in force by Jordan between 1948 and 1967, carries the death sentence.

The PA says the law is necessary to prevent the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

In 1997, the PA announced that it would seek the death penalty for any Palestinian convicted of selling land to Jews or Israelis, in accordance with the Jordanian “Law for Preventing the Sale of Real Estate to the Enemy.”

According to the 1973 legislation, the sale of property to Jews or Israelis constitutes a crime against state security and well-being, punishable by death and the confiscation of the culprit’s possessions.

The PA later drafted its own law to replace the Jordanian statute. The law is called the “Property Law for Foreigners.”

It describes the sale of land to “occupiers” as an act of “national treason.” Although the PA has thus far refrained from executing those convicted of selling land to Jews, there have been many extrajudicial killings of Palestinian suspects over the past decades.

Abbas: "I Don't Accept" Israel As Jewish State

So much for the West's favorite "moderate" Muslim terrorist. Abbas at last comes out in English and states the obvious: no Palestinian Arab will ever accept Israel as an independent state.

And this is after Israel has saved Abbas's ass several times. Goes to show typical Muslim ingratitude. Well, Mr. Abbas shouldn't count on Israel protecting his sorry ungrateful ass from his fellow Islamists in the future. Good riddance to bad rubbish when his pals slit his throat.

But then, maybe Obama will give Abbas sancutary in the U.S. like the other Islamic terrorists he is about to force on the American people.

FROM ISRAELNATIONALNEWS.COM:

Abbas: "I Don't Accept" Israel As Jewish State

by Malkah Fleisherif
(IsraelNN.com) Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas openly refused Monday to recognize Israel as a Jewish State. The statement came as a direct slap against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's insistence that such an acknowledgement is a necessary condition for "progress" in final-status talks.

An uproar ensued in the PA two weeks ago following an initial statement by Netanyahu aides in which it appeared the prime minister had issued an ultimatum, with PA officials calling Netanyahu's insistence on this basic understanding a "provocation" and promising a "poisonous effect" on the Israel-PA relationship. Netanyahu later clarified that recognition of Israel as the state of the Jewish people was a necessary component for progress in negotiations with the PA, although it would not prevent the initiation of the talks.

This is the first time since Netanyahu's statement on the matter that Abbas has publicly rejected the notion of Israel as a Jewish State.
"A Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?" Abbas asked at a speech Monday in Ramallah. "You can call yourselves what you want, but I don't accept it and I say so publicly."

The Ramallah-based Abbas government has been propped up by the United States and Israel since the PA's first democratic election in 2006, in which the Hamas terrorist organization won almost twice the number of parliamentary seats as Fatah. Both Israel and the United States rejected the election results, and instituted Fatah leader Abbas as PA "President," calling him a "moderate" alternative to Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and political bureau chief, Khaled Mashaal, who is based in Damascus.

Israel has also thwarted several assassination attempts on Abbas by providing intelligence to Ramallah-based PA officials before the attempts could take place.
Abbas will meet for talks in Washington, D.C. with U.S. President Barack Obama on May 28, 10 days after Netanyahu meets with the American president, according to the Jordan Times.

Israel Bows to Islam

When are the Israeli people going to wake up and overthrow the self-hating, suicidal leadership they now have?

FROM MAANNEWS.NET:

Israel Bows to Islam

Bethlehem – Ma’an – With the Monday morning start of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, Israeli forces gave directives to soldiers manning 470 checkpoints in the west Bank to avoid eating in front of Palestinian citizens when they pass through checkpoints.

The directives also instructed soldiers to avoid smoking and drinking in front of Palestinians as a sign of respect for those who fast as a religious act.

The Israeli civil administration further decided to allow Palestinians living in Israel access to the West Bank (what they called “Palestinian Authority areas”) in order to visit their families. Money will also be permitted to be transferred to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, so they can buy the appropriate foods for breaking their fast.

Israeli authorities also promised to coordinate with the Palestinian ministry of endowment about increasing number of permits given to Palestinian Muslims to enter Jerusalem so they can perform their Ramadan prayers at the Al-Aqsa mosque.

Several international organizations have urged Israel to issue an additional directive during this holy month: to remove the checkpoints that humiliate, disrupt and create suffering to the daily travels of Palestinians between work, home and family.

Palestinian TV: Baby Killer A Lesson for Us

Child murdering Palestinian hero

Take note: Palestinians consider beating a 4 year old child to death with rocks and a gun butt to be heroic and justified.

FROM FRONTPAGEMAG.COM:

Palestinian TV: Baby Killer A Lesson for Us

By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook

Palestinian Media Watch | 6/30/2008
According to the Palestinian Authority leadership, Samir Quntar epitomizes the ideal Palestinian prisoner. Quntar, who crushed the head of four-year-old Eynat Haran with his rifle, is serving four life sentences for murder in an Israeli prison, but is almost certain to be freed in a prisoner swap with Hizbullah this week.

On one hand, Quntar embodies what the PA considers the "heroism" of terrorists fighting Israel. On the other hand, he's the ultimate symbol of all terrorist prisoners who have murdered Israelis and will eventually be freed as a result of future kidnappings or through some other means.

PA TV, controlled by Mahmoud Abbas, broadcast the following picture honoring Quntar. He is depicted beside a map of Israel completely covered by the Palestinian flag. [PATV, 23-25 June 2008] Following are several recent quotes from PA leaders since April 2008, describing Quntar: "Samir Quntar, the warrior from Lebanon."
"The brave warrior, Samir Quntar."
"The Palestinian people and the Palestinian leadership are standing behind you (Quntar)."
"You (Quntar) are an inseparable part of the action to free our homeland."
"Your (Quntar) patience and strength are a lesson for us." Besides bludgeoning Eynat Haran to death with rocks and his rifle, Quntar killed her father and was responsible for the death of her infant sister. He also killed two policemen in the 1979 attack in Naharia. The Israeli cabinet today approved a prisoner exchange that would free Quntar and several other prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldiers Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, who were kidnapped by Hizbullah in 2006. The exchange could happen within the next few days.

Yet Another Example of Palestinians Doing to Jews what they Accuse Jews of Doing to Them

Julia Gorin speaks.

FROM POLITICAL MACINS.COM:

Yet Another Example of Palestinians Doing to Jews what they Accuse Jews of Doing to Them

By Julia Gorin (bio)

In this case, poisoning.
From Debka File, April 10:
Two Palestinians sent by Hizballah to poison Tel Aviv restaurant food

The two men from the Balata refugee camp in Nablus were arrested by Israeli security Shin Bet officers last month before they could carry out their mission on behalf of the Lebanese Hizballah. They belong to a Hizballah-controlled Fatah wing in Nablus. The Tel Aviv Grill Express at the Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan hired them as kitchen workers. They were caught before they had a change to apply colorless, tasteless and odorless poison to the food set before Israeli customers. The poison was to have acted only after four hours, time enough to murder a large number of diners.
One will notice that with the exception of an area called Yaffa, the city of Tel-Aviv — unlike Jerusalem — is empty of Arabs, and therefore a Jew’s life expectancy in Tel-Aviv is significantly higher than in Jerusalem. These two kitchen workers must have easily found a compassionate Israeli employer who hired them despite the suicidal implications of such a move. Sure enough…
Two other examples of Muslim projection of deadly acts onto others were mentioned at the very bottom of the organ-smuggling blog, in which I mentioned that while Muslim Albanians cut out organs from Christian Serbs, Muslims make movies depicting Jews doing this to Muslims in Iraq. Which recalled another inversion — the film that Palestinian Authority TV shows every Passover, in which a Jew slits the neck of a Palestinian Christian boy for the blood needed to make the “special” matzoh. (In reality, we know who the throat slitters are — of Jews and Christians alike.)
It seems Muslims get so stir crazy waiting for a Jew to actually do any of the above that they decide to act out these fantasies, then get confused about who did what to whom.

State Dept. considers caving to pressure in terror lawsuit

Here's another case of political warfare by Islamists. The PA is petitioning the State Dept. to intercede against a federal court ruling against the PA. On what authority is the State Dept. considering trying to overturn a decision by a federal court? If State presents a Statement of Interest to the effect that enforcing the judgment would be harmful to U.S. national interests it will greatly weaken the administrations position on terrorism, even if the Statement is ignored. AS is often the case, the State Dept. defies common sense and aids and abets the PA in it's attempt to destroy Israel.
FROM JEWISHWORLDREVIEW.COM:

State Dept. considers caving to pressure in terror lawsuit

By Neal Sher

The U.S. government must stand up to Palestinian pressure and stand behind The Anti-Terrorism Act of 1990 in a case involving a $174 million judgment

In a leap of logic, the State Department has been forced to reveal by leap year day whether an important element in the "war on terror" — The Anti-Terrorism Act of 1990, which enables victims of terror to sue in federal court — has teeth or is little more than a sound bite. Much is at stake.

By Feb. 29, the State Department must advise a federal court if it will succumb to Palestinian pressure — read: blackmail — and take the side of murderers by sabotaging a final judgment of $174 million against the Palestinian Authority and Palestine Liberation Organization.

The judge overseeing the case, which was brought in 2003 by the widow of a man killed by Palestinian terrorists in Hadera, Israel, has asked the State Department to declare whether or not it intends to file a Statement of Interest to the effect that enforcing the judgment would be harmful to U.S. national interests. It's something the Palestinians feverishly have been demanding.

Let's hope our government has the courage to do the right thing, as it would be an utter perversion of justice to allow the terrorists literally to get away with murder while getting the administration to give the back of the hand to Lesley Knox, who brought the case. It would be even more unseemly to do so after the matter has been in court for nearly five years.

The case was brought under The Anti-Terrorism Act, which was designed to hit terrorists where it hurts: in the pocketbook. As a reflection of how serious Congress was, the law even allows for the award of treble damages.

Until now the Bush administration has taken no position in the Knox case, apparently satisfied with the matter being handled through the judicial process, as intended by the act. Recently, however, with new high-profile attorneys in tow who have filed papers seeking to vitiate the judgment — extraordinary relief that is not lightly granted — the Palestinian Authority and PLO have been lobbying hard for the Statement of Interest.

Enforcing the judgment, they claim, would effectively bankrupt and weaken P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas at a sensitive time in the Middle East. (When, by the way, is it not a sensitive time?) Implicit in this is the all too common threat that going against the terrorists and their protectors would be to awaken the "Palestinian street." We all know what that means: Don't fight the terrorists because that will only make them angrier and more violent.

The chief PLO representative in Washington has even boasted that there has been a "rethinking" at the State Department, suggesting there might well be receptive ears in Foggy Bottom. What's the word I'm looking for? Ah yes, appeasement.

It is worth noting that Statements of Interest are not unknown commodities. They have been used of late to resolve private litigation involving thorny and sensitive issues that bore upon our national interests.

For example, these statements were invoked in lawsuits brought by Holocaust survivors against German companies that exploited slave laborers during the Nazi era. After lengthy negotiations involving the German government and companies, representatives of the survivors and the U.S. government, a financial settlement was reached. In return, German industry received assurances that in any litigation involving relevant claims, our government would submit a Statement of Interest to the effect it was in our nation's interest to resolve these claims through settlement rather than litigation.

The point here is obvious and most significant: the Statement of Interest procedure was the result of a serious negotiation among all interested parties. That is not what the Palestinians are proposing; they want to vacate the judgment.

Paying Islam for our Western guilt

Yep, we're paying Palestinian terrorists to terrorize the Israelis and the West. Just can't get enough self-abuse. Until the West stops funding Pali terrorism, it will just escalate and spread. Here’s another outstanding analysis by Diana West.
FROM JEWISHWORLDREVIEW.COM:
Paying Islam for our Western guilt
By Diana West

Christmas came early to the Palestinian Authority when the "international community" decided not only to meet PA President Mahmoud Abbas' request for $5.6 billion in aid, but to throw in almost $2 billion more. Why? Did the PA end its terrorist ways? Stop state-sanctioned incitement against Israel and the West? Change Fatah's charter (forget about Hamas) calling for Israel's destruction?

Alas, no, no and no. We are heaping riches on the PA for other reasons, one of which I discuss below.

But first, a digression: Christmas, obviously, doesn't come to the PA, even if Western billions do. Despite a tiny (and decreasing) number of Christians, the PA is a land of Islam — Dar al-Islam. That makes Israel, the object of the PA's destructive animus, Dar al-Harb, land of war, right?

Right. But not according to the PC script of the "international community." We never, ever discuss the Islamic context of "Arab-Israeli" conflicts. But how else can we hope to understand them? Jihad ideology inspires the Arab struggle against Israel. It also explains it. As the only non-Muslim country amid Middle Eastern Dar-al Islam, as the only "dhimmi" nation to reclaim its land once conquered by Islam, Israel's very existence is a religious offense to the "umma," or Islamic community. In this same context, what we call "foreign aid" to the PA may be understood as a form of "jizya," the protection money paid to Muslims by non-Muslims.

Palestinian Authority's tax payer-funded open spigot must be closed now

Daniel Pipes exposes the lunacy of continued support of the “Palestinians“. America, the EU and even Israel itself funding of The PA only fuels terrorist activity. There is a direct correlation between more funding and more terrorism.
FROM JEWISHWORLDREVIEW.COM:
Palestinian Authority's tax payer-funded open spigot must be closed now
By Daniel Pipes

Lavishing funds on Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority to achieve peace has been a mainstay of Western, including Israeli, policy since Hamas seized Gaza in June. But this open spigot has counterproductive results and urgently must be stopped.
Some background: Paul Morro of the Congressional Research Service reports that, in 2006, the European Union and its member states gave US$815 million to the Palestinian Authority, while the United States sent it $468 million. When other donors are included, the total receipts come to about $1.5 billion.
The windfall keeps growing. President George W. Bush requested a $410 million supplement in October, beyond a $77 million donation earlier in the year. The State Department justifies this lordly sum on the grounds that it "supports a critical and immediate need to support a new Palestinian Authority (PA) government that both the U.S. and Israel view as a true ally for peace." At a recent hearing, Gary Ackerman, chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia, endorsed the supplemental donation.

U.N., EU offer social services to pardoned terrorists

Talk about ingrates. Israel releases terrorists only to have them immediately return to attacking Israel. Then the UN an EU want to "educate" and help them eschew terrorism. But how can you blame a fanatical Islamist refrain from doing what comes naturally to him? The problem here is that Israel, the UN and EU continue to live in a multi-culti la la land of mindless hope that the Jihadi will somehow stop trying to kill Jews.

TEL AVIV – The United Nations has initiated a program to provide "job training" and "family assistance" purportedly to integrate into Palestinian society terrorists granted amnesty in July by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Many of the terrorists now slated for aid have boasted of violating their amnesty agreement by refusing to disarm and reportedly continuing to attack the Jewish state.
Israel has information some of the pardoned terrorists have been coordinating activities with the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist organization.
In a gesture to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Olmert granted the official amnesty to 178 West Bank-based members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah's declared military wing, which took responsibility along with the Islamic Jihad terror group for every suicide bombing in Israel the past two years.
