Schoolgirl, 15, who claims she was raped by step-father could be flogged 'for having sex with another man' under Maldives Islamic law

This is Islam in action.  This is how Islam deals with child rape victims.  This is what the Muslim ummah wishes to impose on all of humanity.  The Maldives are a 100% Muslim society.  By the way, it is ILLEGAL under Maldives law for any non-Muslim to be a Maldivian citizen.

A teenage girl who says she was repeatedly raped by her step-father and that he killed her baby could be flogged for having sex with another man.

Police in the Maldives say they found evidence of consensual 'fornication' while they investigated the rape accusations.

Now the the 15-year-old victim faces a punishment of flogging under the country's strict Islamic law, according to AFP.

Her step-father is accused of repeatedly raping her and then murdering a baby he fathered and her mother has been charged with helping dispose of the body.

Despite this, the child is being investigated for having consensual extra-marrital sex, which is a crime in the tropical island destination.

If convicted she could be publically flogged when she reaches the age of 18.

Maldivian police spokesman Hassan Haneef told AFP: 'We completed the investigation (into the murder of the infant) and gave a report to the prosecutor general's office'

However, he would not give details as the case involves a minor.

The fornication charge is not related to the rape, according to the local Haveeru newspaper.

The islands are more commonly known throughout the world for its idyllic beaches and luxury holiday resorts.

In 2011, the United Nations urged the Maldives to stop flogging women who had sex outside of marriage.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said: 'This practice constitutes one of the most inhumane and degrading forms of violence against women, and should have no place in the legal framework of a democratic country.'

Last year a 16-year-old girl was sentenced to 100 lashes after she confessed to having consensual sex with a 29-year-old man after her family pressed charges.

The man was found guilty of having sex with a minor and sentenced to ten years in jail.

The girl will be flogged when she reaches 18
