 Angry man cuts off nose of sister-in-law’s date

LAHORE: A man cut off the nose of a man after catching him dating his sister-in-law at Jahangir Tomb in Shahdara Town police limits on Thursday.

Allah Rakha was dating a woman at the mausoleum of great Mughal emperor when her brother-in-law came there and got infuriated after discovering them together in a compromising situation. He cut off the nose of the friend of his sister-in-law with a weapon and fled. The injured was admitted to a local hospital. The police started investigations. However, no case has been registered till the filing of this report.

Intimidated: Two polio workers were threatened of dire consequences in Ghalib Market police precincts.

Sources said that vaccinators Tajammul and Muqarab went to Street No 17 in Husnainabad to administer vaccine to children where a local named Babar and his accomplices hurled life threats at them. The matter was reported to the police. However, no case was registered till the filing of this report.

Shot dead: A 25-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified persons in Shalimar police precincts.

Zahid was standing near his house in Atif Park when assailants shot at him, killing him on the spot. Police sources said that the victim had been shot dead by robbers on offering resistance. The body was sent for an autopsy.

Succumbs: A 22-year-old woman succumbed to burns at a hospital 19 days after she was set ablaze by her husband and two others in Liaqatabad police precincts.

Nasreen, of Sundar, married Shahid Ali, of Purani Abadi, Kot Lakhpat, around two months ago. However, her husband, his mother and a sister set her on fire over domestic issues. The police registered a case against the accused on the statement of the victim. The body was sent for an autopsy.
