THE ONE-TIME tourist heaven of Swat looks like a ghost valley today. The people have still not recovered from the gory nightmare that was unleashed by the local Taliban. The last one-and-a-half year has seen a population of 1.5 million people being held hostage by a ragtag force of some 2,500 Taliban. They are under the leadership of Maulvi Fazalullah, popularly known as Mullah Radio for his jihad-inflected sermons, aired through his illegal FM radio. Fazalullah’s men have fought bloody battles with the army over the past two years. They virtually took control of most of Swat last year. Over 1,200 civilians have died so far and around 350,000 hapless locals forced to leave through rough mountain terrain.
The rich have left for Peshawar — 70 miles away, and the richer for more posh Islamabad — 100 miles in the south. The poor, with no place to go, suffered the trauma that makes Hollywood horrors look like a picnic. Intelligence sources dubbed as ‘spies’ and government officials — particularly from law-enforcing agencies — were specifically targeted by the Taliban. They were abducted and maimed and their killing turned into a gruesome spectacle in order to send a message to others.

The reign of terror is symbolised by what has come to be known as Khooni Chowk — the Crossing of Blood. A band of Taliban would, late at night, block the central crossing in the city centre of Mingora, the district headquarters the size of Srinagar and no less beautiful. They hung amputated bodies — some headless — on an electrical pole in the middle of the crossing, with notes giving their name and details of their ‘misdeeds’ against Islam. The bodies were not to be removed before a given date. Anybody violating this dictat could do so only at the risk of being himself put up headless.

Good news in the counter jihad. This is the long term solution for captured terrorists then, just never bring them into U.S. government territory. It sure makes sense for terrorists captured in say Afghanistan, stay incarcerated in Afghanistan. This is pretty much what was worked out in the Viet Nam war where VC and NVA captured by Allied troops were turned over the South Vietnamese. Frankly, a terrorist would much rather be imprisoned by the Americans rather thanby any of his Muslim brothers.

While the upcoming trials of Muslim terrorists from Guantanamo Bay will be a disaster legally, and make the U.S. look weak, they will show the American public just how wrong having criminal trials for foreign terrorists is.

Obama Backs Bush: No Rights for Bagram Prisoners

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration, siding with the Bush White House, contended Friday that detainees in Afghanistan have no constitutional rights.
In a two-sentence court filing, the Justice Department said it agreed that detainees at Bagram Airfield cannot use U.S. courts to challenge their detention. The filing shocked human rights attorneys.

"The hope we all had in President Obama to lead us on a different path has not turned out as we'd hoped," said Tina Monshipour Foster, a human rights attorney representing a detainee at the Bagram Airfield. "We all expected better."
The Supreme Court last summer gave al-Qaida and Taliban suspects held at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the right to challenge their detention. With about 600 detainees at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan and thousands more held in Iraq, courts are grappling with whether they, too, can sue to be released.

Iran: Two women whipped in Sanandaj

More barbarism from the mullahs of Iran. Flogging is "is one of most just sentences that can be inflicted on someone" according to Iran's Judicial Authority. Islamic equality of the sexes means women are flogged like a man, or perhaps allowed to become a suicide bomber.

Iran: Two women whipped in Sanandaj

NCRI – Two women activists were whipped on Thursday for participating in May Day celebrations in 2007 in the northwestern city of Sanandaj.
Susan Zazani and Shiva Khirabadi were sentenced by the mullahs' judiciary in Kurdistan. Local residents expressed anger at the clerical regime for carrying out such cruel and degrading punishments.

On February 20, 2008, two male workers who had participated in the same demonstration were whipped in Sanandaj prison. A total of 10 workers were sentenced to flogging for demonstrating on May Day 2007 in Sanandaj.

On June 26, 2007 mullahs' highest judicial authority, Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, says public flogging is an effective criminal deterrent, while imprisonment is a useless punishment.

In an interview broadcast on state TV on June 25 in the evening program, the head of the Iranian regime's Judicial Authority complained that "many Iranian judges, influenced by western propaganda and fearing they will be accused of failing to respect human rights, are not sentencing offenders to effective penalties like public flogging".

"Public flogging is one of most just sentences that can be inflicted on someone who has committed a crime," said Shahroudi.
"The publication of photos and news of public floggings is the best deterrent, while three or four months in prison has no effect," he said.
"We must reduce prison sentences and make use of public flogging more to punish offenders."

In May, the rights group Amnesty International urged Iranian courts to suspend flogging sentences.
"Flogging is a form of cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment, which amounts to torture," the organization said.
Amnesty said it was outlawed under Article 7 of the United Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

He subscribes the the "Walt and Mearsheimer contention that the Israel Lobby (a nice way of saying Jews) control the US Foreign policy. His MEPC political action group publishes a Workbook that teaches our children that the Muslims discovered the "New World" and the "Indians" who met he English Explorers all had Muslim names. The man will now be the gatekeeper deciding what gets to the President, is a Friend of the Bin Laden family, Sportive of Chinese Cruelty and runs a company Projects International that does a lot of buisness with the Saudi Royal family.

Its only been five weeks, but the President has made great strides to prove what many in the conservative community were warning the Jewish voters, "Obama is not a supporter of the Jewish State" Just look at the other moves he has made over the past two weeks....

What else can we expect from Keith Ellison, what else can Keith Ellison do? He is a Muslim and as such must place Islam above all other considerations, even his sworn duty to his office as a representative in the Congress.

Yet he does not, of course, explain how anything in the film is inaccurate. And he cannot, because the film is accurate.

The film being screened, "Fitna", is said to compare Islamic terrorism to Nazism. The screening is sponsored by Senator John Kyl (R-AZ).

Yes, Islamic terrorism is much more cuddly than Nazism, eh? Aside from this absurdity there is the nagging problem that neither Ellison nor anyone else who is upset about Fitna ever addresses: the fact that it depicts only the Qur'an and the words of Islamic jihadists themselves. If it is hateful, it is because they are hateful.

"I am a strong an advocate of First Amendment free speech. However, this is not about free speech, but rather an issue of propriety, timing and venue," Ellison said. "Senator Kyl has every right to host anyone he chooses, however it becomes a question of propriety to use the United States Capitol as a venue for the condemnation of an entire religion," Ellison said.

Then it is about free speech after all, isn't it? In the first place, Fitna doesn't condemn "an entire religion," but even if it did, why isn't Senator Kyl free to show such a piece in any venue he chooses?

Mr. Wilders was denied entry by the British government because of his extremist views. A British Home Office spokesman stated: "The government opposes extremism in all its forms." The Dutch government has disavowed Mr. Wilders visit to this country and believes the release of this film "serves no purpose other than to cause offence."

Now if only the Dutch government would say the same thing about the jihadists in the Netherlands.
According to the London Telegraph, Wilders has stated that the Qu'ran should be banned.
This is the most common charge made against Wilders -- that he is inconsistent. Here is a full answer.

Ellison further stated, "At a time when President Obama has said to the Muslim world, ‘We are ready to initiate a new partnership based on mutual respect and mutual interest,' the showing of a film that denigrates the faith of 1.4 billion of the world's citizens does not foster mutual respect or mutual interest.
Then let the Islamic jihadists stop denigrating their own faith by acting in the way the film depicts -- and when has Ellison expressed the same kind of indignation about that as he directs here against Wilders?

Interior Ministry warns terror camp trainees returning to Germany

Here's an example from Germany of Muslim terrorists using refugee status to infiltrate the West and then using their benefits as a springboard to gain funding terrorist training at the expense of the host country. This sort of infiltration has been going on for years throughout most of the West, and right under the noses of the Politically Correct idiots in government. Germany, like most Western countries are struggling with their legal systems to find ways to deal with stateless Muslim terrorists. Allowing this infiltration to go on is insane.

Interior Ministry warns terror camp trainees returning to Germany

Up to 140 people from Germany have attended terrorist training camps and 60 have returned to the country, government officials told Berliner Morgenpost this week.

Head of the Interior Ministry’s anti-terrorism unit Hans-Georg Maaßen told the paper on Wednesday that those 60, who include German citizens as well as immigrants with residency permits, are currently living in the country.

Maaßen argued their return was a good reason for the German upper house of parliament to pass a controversial new anti-terrorism law in the coming weeks. The law would give officials more authority to prosecute crimes that endanger the state, such as attending terrorist training camps in Afghanistan or Pakistan. After months of arguing, the grand coalition government managed to agree on a bill, and the Bundesrat will vote on it March 6.

Should it be passed by parliament as expected, any involvement with suspected terrorist groups, including contacting them, preparing for a terror attack by collecting money, financing terrorist activities, gathering bomb materials, spending time in a terrorist training camp or publishing bomb-building instructions will be punishable by up to 10 years under the new legislation. Building a bomb, even if someone does not detonate it, could mean up to three years in jail, for instance.

The new law comes out of analysis of investigations against terror suspects in the last several years. Since 2000, at least 7 terrorist attacks have been stopped or failed, Maaßen told the paper, adding that the new law was just a “re-adjustment of small details in criminal law.”

But critics of the bill say it’s unconstitutional. Even German Justice Minister Brigitte Zypries has said that the legislation enters a “new legal territory.”

But according to Maaßen, "There are these exceptions against whom we have to take precautions."

Pakistan On The Edge

Here is an outstanding video shot in Pakistan's NW areas and the Swat region showing the great inroads of the Taliban into Pakistan and the fragile balance of power that now exists. In my mind, there is a great danger of the Taliban combining with fanatical Islamic elements of the ISI (same thing) and over throwing the government. Dutchman flies Islamization into world spotlight

What a difference a year makes.

I say this on realizing that just over one year ago, Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders — who has been on a multi-stop media and speaking tour of New York, Boston and Washington, D.C. — that includes a screening of his film "Fitna," hosted by Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., in the U.S. Capitol — was little known outside the Netherlands.

Indeed, most of what people seemed to know about him — and I refer to those of us irresistibly riveted on Islamization as the great, ignored, existential peril — was that Wilders, along with then-fellow Dutch parliamentarian Ayaan Hirsi Ali, had lived under threat of assassination since 2004. That was when a five-page Islamic manifesto calling for Wilders' and Hirsi Ali's murder was found impaled with a knife to the stabbed and bullet-riddled corpse of Theo van Gogh, a critic of Islam and great-great-nephew of Vincent van Gogh. Theo, as some will recall, was assassinated, ritualistically, his head nearly severed from his body, on the streets of Amsterdam on the morning of Nov. 2, 2004, by Dutch-Moroccan dual-national Mohammed Bouyeri. Linked to the jihadist Hofstad group, Bouyeri is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Bouyeri's motive? Criticism of Islam. Van Gogh and Hirsi Ali had together made a very short film titled "Submission" to call attention to the plight of women abused according to Islamic law; Wilders was an outspoken critic of Islamic law in the Netherlands. Bouyeri sought retribution, taking Van Gogh's life and consigning both Hirsi Ali and Wilders to the wary existence of perpetual prey, both of them requiring armed guards to help ensure their continued survival in their own country and beyond.

Hirsi Ali would eventually leave Dutch parliament and the Netherlands, finding renown in a peripatetic if guarded exile as the author of a bestselling memoir, "Infidel," and as a couture-sheathed subject for Vogue magazine. Wilders remained in Dutch politics, his stance against Islamization reported to the wider world in shorthand briefs about the so-called Dutch firebrand with the platinum-blond hair who opposed Islamic law, and wanted to halt Islamic immigration into the Netherlands.

Then, last year, in late January, FoxNews reporter Greg Palkot conducted what was likely the first televised U.S. interview with Wilders. The "Dutch firebrand" had begun making international headlines for his upcoming documentary critique of the Bible — I mean, the Talmud. Or was it the Bhagavad Gita? No, the 17-minute film was called "Fitna," and it was about the Koran. No matter how short, no matter how small, such critiques of Islam draw notice because Islam brooks no criticism, and responds variously, as we have seen with Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses, the Danish Mohammed cartoons, the Pope's Regensburg address and other uniquely Islamic flashpoints, with boycotts, lawsuits, threats, riots, arson, attacks — even murder.

Wilders appeared in that first U.S. interview as "serious, certainly forthright and articulately nonapologetic in his defense of Dutch culture and identity (and, by extension, Western culture and identity) against the Islamization process well under way in his country and the wider West." I would see these same qualities firsthand when I interviewed him last summer in The Hague.

Arab Radar Satellite Network

Here is a troubling development, even more so than the Iranian's intent to have their own communication satellite. This satellite is a tremendously important military asset for the Middle East Arab Suni countries. Oil money or no, the UAE is still a third world entity driven by fundamentalist Islam. I can't imagine this information not being shared with their Arab brothers in any future conflict with Israel.

February 27, 2009: The UAE (United Arab Emirates (synthetic aperture radar) satellites will use an orbit that will cover an area 43 degrees north and south of the Equator. This will mean the birds will spend a lot of time over this narrow coverage (compared to satellites with a polar orbit) and will have a resolution as low as one meter (when the radar is concentrated a 10x10 kilometer area). Using radar means that the birds are ) is spending nearly a billion dollars to put up four radar satellites. The GulfSARuseable day and night and in any weather. SAR can produce photo quality images. At medium resolution (3 meters) the radar covers an area 40x40 kilometers. Low resolution (20 meters) covers 100x100 kilometers.

The primary mission is military, to keep an eye on Iran, in real time. But this will be used mainly in a military emergency. The rest of the time the satellite will be used for civilian uses, like tracking ship traffic in the Gulf and for surveying ground activity. GulfSAR will be rented out to users when it passes over other areas, and this revenue is expected to cover much of the cost. The first two satellites will go up in 2012, with the other two following a year later.

Muzzammil Hassan allegedly beheaded his wife Aasiya on February 12 in the offices of Bridges TV, the Muslim-oriented cable channel that he founded in 2004 to combat the negative perceptions of Muslims that he claimed were dominating mainstream media coverage.

He said at the time the station was founded that Aasiya was his inspiration for founding Bridges TV: “Some derogatory comments were being made about Muslims that offended her. She was seven months pregnant, and she thought she didn’t want her kids growing up in this environment.”

The environment that they will grow up in instead cannot be imagined. But many people are doing their best to make sure that, whatever the other features of that environment may be, a critical appraisal of the roots of honor killing in Islamic culture, and a determination to put an end to this phenomenon, will not be among them.

Was the murder of Aasiya an honor killing, for something she did that offended Islam? The denial and obfuscation began almost immediately after the killing. Khalid J. Qazi of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) chapter of Western New York, declared: “There is no place for domestic violence in our religion -- none. Islam would 100 percent condemn it.”

This is a strange claim, given the fact that while spousal abuse exists in all cultures, only in Islam does it carry divine sanction. The Qur’an says: “Men shall take full care of women with the bounties which God has bestowed more abundantly on the former than on the latter, and with what they may spend out of their possessions. And the righteous women are the truly devout ones, who guard the intimacy which God has [ordained to be] guarded. And as for those women whose ill-will you have reason to fear, admonish them [first]; then leave them alone in bed; then beat them…” (4:34)

The Islamic prophet Muhammad was once told that “women have become emboldened towards their husbands,” whereupon he “gave permission to beat them” (Sunan Abu Dawud, book 11, no. 2141). And he himself once struck his favorite wife, Aisha, as she recounted: “He struck me on the chest which caused me pain” (Sahih Muslim, book 4, no. 2127).

These and other elements of Islamic teaching have helped create a culture in which so-called “honor killing” is widely accepted. There is no sanction given in the Qur’an or Islamic law for honor killing. However, the practice is encouraged by the shame/honor culture that Islam has created. A transgression of the moral law is not seen only as a sin to be somehow expiated by the individual who committed it, but as a blot upon the honor and purity of the family of the victim -- and that blot inheres in the sullied purity of the victim, not the perpetrator. Thus the victims of rape in Islamic countries are often further victimized in honor crimes. One notorious example of this connection came in the relatively moderate Muslim country of Jordan in 2003, when the Jordanian Parliament voted down a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. According to Al-Jazeera, “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”

Yet instead of dealing honestly with all this and beginning to take steps to make sure more Muslim women in America suffer the same fate as Aasiya Hassan, the Muslim community in America has continued in denial. Bizarrely, Faizan Haq, whom the Buffalo News identified as “a local professor who helped launch Bridges TV,” even declared: “I think of Aasiya as a martyr. She has given her life to protect the image of American Muslims. And as an American Muslim community, we owe it to her not to let this happen again.”

Indeed we do owe it to her, but as long as Haq and other Muslims in the United States ignore and deny the elements of Islamic tradition that justify honor killing and violence against women, what can possibly be done to make sure this doesn’t happen again? The ultimate victims of this denial are Muslim women -- especially the ones whose life will end as Aasiya Hassan’s did, at the hands of a man who imbibed the Islamic teachings that Muzzammil Hassan seems to have learned very well.

Muslim Publics Oppose Al Qaeda's Terrorism

Good news, bad news. The good news is that seemingly, a majority of Muslims do not activly support violent acts of terrorism. The bad news is that same majority wishes to participate in the politics of Western countries in order to impose Sharia law through political means.

Large majorities support allowing Islamist groups to organize parties and participate in democratic elections. In some majority-Muslim countries, Islamist groups, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, are forbidden from participating in elections.

Steven Kull, director of WorldPublicOpinion.org, comments, "The U.S. faces a conundrum. U.S. efforts to fight terrorism with an expanded military presence in Muslim countries appear to have elicited a backlash and to have bred some sympathy for al Qaeda, even as most reject its methods."
The survey is part of an ongoing study of Egypt, Pakistan, and Indonesia, with additional polling in Turkey, Jordan, the Palestinian territories, Azerbaijan, and Nigeria. It was conducted July through September, 2008 by WorldPublicOpinion.org with support from the START Consortium at the University of Maryland. Margins of error range from +/- 3 to 4 percent.

In nearly all nations polled more than seven in 10 say they disapprove of attacks on American civilians. "Bombings and assassinations that are carried out to achieve political or religious goals" are rejected as "not justified at all" by large majorities ranging from 67 to 89 percent. There is a growing belief that attacks on civilians are ineffective, with approximately half now saying that such attacks are hardly ever effective.

Asked specifically about the U.S. naval forces based in the Persian Gulf, there is widespread opposition across the Muslim world. Opposition is largest in Egypt (91%) and among the Palestinians (90%), but opposition is also large in America's NATO ally Turkey (77%).

Views of al Qaeda are complex. Majorities agree with nearly all of al Qaeda's goals to change U.S. behavior in the Muslim world, to promote Islamist governance, and to preserve and affirm Islamic identity. However only minorities say they approve of al Qaeda's attacks on Americans.

Thank you very much for inviting me. And – to the immigration authorities – thank you for letting me into this country. It is always a pleasure to cross a border without being sent back on the first plane.

Today, the dearest of our many freedoms is under attack all throughout Europe. Free speech is no longer a given. What we once considered a natural element of our existence, our birth right, is now something we once again have to battle for.
As you might know, I will be prosecuted, because of my film Fitna, my remarks regarding Islam, and my view concerning what some call a ‘religion of peace’. A few years from now, I might be a criminal.

Whether or not I end up in jail is not the most pressing issue; I gave up my freedom four years ago. I am under full-time police protection ever since. The real question is: will free speech be put behind bars? And the larger question for the West is: will we leave Europe’s children the values of Rome, Athens and Jerusalem, or the values of Mecca, Teheran and Gaza?

This is what video blogger Pat Condell said in one of his latest you tube appearances. He says: “If I talked about Muslims the way their holy book talks about me, I’d be arrested for hate speech.” Now, Mr Condell is a stand-up comedian, but in the video he is dead serious and the joke is on us. Hate speech will always be used against the people defending the West – in order to please and appease Muslims. They can say whatever they want: throw gays from apartment buildings, kill the Jews, slaughter the infidel, destroy Israel, jihad against the West. Whatever their book tells them.

Today, I come before you to warn of a great threat. It is called Islam. It poses as a religion, but its goals are very worldly: world domination, holy war, sharia law, the end of the separation of church and state, slavery of women, the end of democracy. It is NOT a religion, it is an political ideology. It demands your respect, but has no respect for you.

There might be moderate Muslims, but there is no moderate Islam. Islam will never change, because it is built on two rocks that are forever, two fundamental beliefs that will never change, and will never alter. First, there is the Quran, Allah’s personal word, uncreated, forever, with orders that need to be fulfilled regardless of place or time. And second, there is al-insal al-kamil, the perfect man, Muhammad the role model, whose deeds are to be imitated by all Muslims. And since Muhammad was a warlord and a conqueror we know what to expect. Islam means submission, so there cannot be any mistake about it’s goal. That’s a given. It’s fact.

This is Europe 2009. Muslim settlers calling for our destruction, and free speech on trial. All this is the outcome of a sick and evil ideology, the ideology that is weakening us, the surrender ideology of cultural relativism. It believes that all cultures are equal, and therefore Islam deserves an equal place in the West. It is their duty, the left thinks, to facilitate Islam. This way the cultural relativists paradise comes within reach and we will all be happy, and sing kumbaya.
The forces of Islam couldn’t agree more. Islam being facilitated by government is their agenda too. But they see it as jizya, the money dhimmis pay in order not to be killed or raped by their Muslim masters. Therefore, they happily accept the welfare cheque or the subsidies for their mosque or the money governments donate to their organizations.

This is just one example of cultural relativists and Muslim settlers having the same agenda. There is another. Islam considers itself a religion and therefore we are not permitted to criticize it. The left agrees. Although it hated Christianity for decades, now that Islam appears on the scene, they suddenly change course and demand ‘respect’ for something they call a religion.
Again we see the left and Islam having the same agenda: it is a religion, so shut up.
This all culminates in a third coming-together: nor the left nor Islam is in favor of criticism. In fact, given the opportunity, they would simply outlaw it. Multiculturalism is the left’s pet project. It is actually their religion. Their love of it is so great, if you oppose it, it must be hate. And if you say it, it is labeled hate speech. Now here is something the Islam can agree on.
This is the essence of my short introduction today: where the left and Islam come together, freedom will suffer.

My friends, make no mistake, my prosecution is a full-fledged attack by the left on freedom of speech in order to please Muslims. It was started by a member of the Dutch Labour party, and the entire legal proceeding is done by well-to-do liberals, the radical chic of Dutch society, the snobbish left. Too much money, too much time, too little love of liberty. If you read what the court of Amsterdam has written about me, you read the same texts that cultural relativists produce.
How low can we go in the Netherlands? About my prosecution, The Wall Street Journal noted: “this is no small victory for Islamic regimes seeking to export their censorship laws to wherever Muslims reside”. The Journal concluded that by The Netherlands accepting the free speech standards of, “Saudi-Arabia”, I stand correct in my observation that - I quote - “Muslim immigration is eroding traditional Dutch liberties”.

Now, if the Wall Street Journal has the moral clarity to see that my prosecution is the logical outcome of our disastrous, self-hating, multiculturalists immigration policies, then why can’t the European liberal establishment see the same thing? Why aren’t they getting at least a little bit scared by the latest news out of, for example, the UK. News that tells that the Muslim population in Britain is growing ten times as fast as the rest of society. Why don’t they care?

The answer is: they don’t care because they are blinded by their cultural relativism. Their disdain of the West is so much greater than the appreciation of our many liberties. And therefore, they are willing to sacrifice everything. The left once stood for women rights, gay rights, equality, democracy. Now, they favour immigration policies that will end all this. Many even lost their decency. Elite politicians have no problem to participate in or finance demonstrations where settlers shout “Death to the Jews”. Seventy years after Auschwitz they know of no shame.

Two weeks ago, I tried to get into Britain, a fellow EU country. I was invited to give a speech in Parliament. However, upon arrival at London airport, I was refused entry into the UK, and sent back on the first plane to Holland. I would have loved to have reminded the audience of a great man who once spoke in the House of Commons. In 1982 President Reagan gave a speech there very few people liked. Reagan called upon the West to reject communism and defend freedom. He introduced a phrase: ‘evil empire’. Reagan’s speech stands out as a clarion call to preserve our liberties. I quote: If history teaches anything, it teaches self-delusion in the face of unpleasant facts is folly. What Reagan meant is that you cannot run away from history, you cannot escape the dangers of ideologies that are out to destroy you. Denial is no option.

So, what should we do? Is this a good moment for freedom-loving people to give in or to change course? To all-of-a-sudden start singing praise of Islam, or proclaiming there is such a thing as a moderate Islam? Will we now accept the continuation of Muslim mass immigration to the West? Will we appease sharia and jihad? Should we sacrifice gay rights and women rights? Or democracy? Should we sell out Israel, our dearest ally, and a frontline state of Islam?
Well, my humble opinion is: No way, Jose!

I suggest to defend freedom in general and freedom of speech in particular. I propose the withdrawal of all hate speech legislation in Europe. I propose a European First Amendment. In Europe we should defend freedom of speech like you Americans do. In Europe freedom of speech should be extended, instead of restricted. Of course, calling for violence or unjustly yelling “fire” in a crowded theatre have to be punished, but the right to criticize ideologies or religions are necessary conditions for a vital democracry. As George Orwell once said: “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear”.

Let us defend freedom of speech and let us gain strength and work hard to become even stronger. Millions think just like you and me. Millions think liberty is precious. That democracy is better than sharia. And after all, why should we be afraid? Our many freedoms and our prosperity are the result of centuries of endeavour. Centuries of hard work and sacrifice. We do not stand alone, and we stand on the shoulders of giants.

Late December 1944 the American army was suddenly faced with a last-ditch effort by the Germans. In the Ardennes, in the Battle of the Bulge, Hitler and his national-socialists fought for their last chance. And they were very successful. Americans faced defeat, and death.

In the darkest of winter, in the freezing cold, in a lonely forest with snow and ice as even fiercer enemies than the Nazi war machine itself, the American army was told to surrender. That might be their only chance to survive. But General McAuliffe thought otherwise. He gave the Germans a short message. This message contained just four letters. Four letters only, but never in the history of freedom was a desire for liberty and perseverance in the face of evil expressed more eloquently than in that message. It spelled N – U – T – S. “Nuts”.
My friends, the national-socialists got the message. Because it left no room for interpretation!

I suggest we walk in the tradition of giants like General McAuliffe and the American soldiers who fought and died for the freedom of my country and for a secular and democratic Europe, and we tell the enemies of freedom just that. NUTS! Because that’s all there is to it. No explanations. No beating around the bush. No caveats.

Our enemies should know: we will never apologize for being free men, we will never bow for the combined forces of Mecca and the left. And we will never surrender. We stand on the shoulders of giants. There is no stronger power than the force of free men fighting for the great cause of liberty. Because freedom is the birthright of all man.

But most people in this country, I suspect, felt a stab of justified anger and frustration on Monday as he descended at Northolt from a plane chartered by the Government to bring him 'home'.
Mohamed is an Ethiopian, who was granted residence rights in Britain after claiming asylum in 1994. He left in 2001, deciding he would rather live in Afghanistan.

Then, in 2002, he was arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of plotting a 'dirty bomb' attack on the United States. Thereafter, he was confined successively in Morocco and Guantanamo, under American stewardship.
The CIA claims that he is a trained Al Qaeda terrorist, but he has never been charged with any offence.

Within hours of the news of Aasiya Z. Hassan's February 12th beheading, allegedly by her husband, Muzzamil Hassan, in Buffalo, American-Muslim organizations and individuals began a dirge bemoaning the existence of domestic violence. But thanks be to Allah, they affirmed, such violence exists among all faiths and ethnicities. Such family violence, they insisted, had nothing to do with Islam. Muslim leaders emphasized that honor killings were “anti-Islamic" or "un-Islamic," a holdover from "pre-Islamic times." They vowed to preach against it in the mosque. All well and good.

That Mr. Hassan beheaded his wife--well, that simply wasn't dwelled upon. Muslim religious feminist, Asra Nomani, and Irshad Manjie, both referred to the Buffalo beheading as an "honor killing" and despaired of the silence which still surrounded this form of domestic violence against Muslim girls and women. As Muslim women, they were not as squeamish about condemning violence against Muslim women by Muslim men and by Islamic culture.

Zarqa Abid, a soulful-sounding religious Muslim woman claimed that her cousin was once married to this same Hassan, and she denounced Hassan as a "monster." Abid also criticized the Islamic community for having refused to listen to her when she attempted to alert them to Hassan's criminal nature and deeds. Instead, they shunned her and continued to shower him with their money and to honor him.

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, Robert S. Mueller III, said Monday that a Somali-American man who was one of several suicide bombers in a terrorist attack last October in Somalia had apparently been indoctrinated into his extremist beliefs while living in the United States.
The man, Shirwa Ahmed, was the first known suicide bomber with American citizenship. He immigrated with his family to the Minneapolis area in the mid-1990s, Mr. Mueller said, but he returned to Somalia after he was recruited by a militant group.

“It appears that this individual was radicalized in his hometown in Minnesota,” Mr. Mueller said, speaking at a meeting of the Council on Foreign Relations. Minneapolis claims the country’s largest Somali population.
Mr. Ahmed was driving a vehicle laden with explosives that blew up in northern Somalia in an attack that killed as many as 30 people, according to news reports. His body was returned to the United States with the help of the F.B.I....
“It raises the question of whether these young men will one day come home, and, if so, what might they undertake here,” he said.

So while the blood is still running down your kid's leg, you thwack him on the nose, and pet the dog on the head while saying, "Good Dog."

Sure at some point the state might step in, but the problem is that the dog is 1.5 billion Muslims, and you are the state.

Nevertheless, let's try. In the Swat Valley, where a young Winston Churchill once served with the Malakand Field Force battling Muslim insurgents, his successors have concluded the game isn't worth the candle. In return for a temporary ceasefire, the Pakistani government agreed to let the local franchise of the Taliban impose its industrial strength version of sharia across the whole of Malakand Region. If "region" sounds a bit of an imprecise term, Malakand has over five million people, all of whom are now living under a murderous theocracy. Still, peace rallies have broken out all over the Swat Valley, and, at a Swat peace rally, it helps to stand well back: As one headline put it, "Journalist Killed While Covering Peace Rally."

But don't worry about Pakistani nukes falling into the hands of "extremists": The Swat Valley is a good hundred miles from the "nation"'s capital, Islamabad — or about as far as Northern Vermont is from Southern Vermont. And, of course, Islamabad is safely under the control of the famously moderate Ali Zardari. A few days before the Swat deal, Mr. Zardari marked the dawn of the Obama era by releasing from house arrest A. Q. Khan, the celebrated scientist and one-stop shop for all your Islamic nuclear needs, for whose generosity North Korea and Iran are especially grateful.

Bosnian Imam claims child molestation innocence

Here's an example of Muslim doublespeak. A Muslim man was found guilty of child molestation by a Bosnian court. The reaction of the Muslim community was to defend the pervert and blame and have the local imam interrogate and terrify the child in order to divert attention from the horrendous crimes perpetrated against a child. The miserable excuse for a human being, Imam Reshind, sank to holding a staged demonstration using young female children to proclaim his innocence. Witnesses for the prosecution are receiving death threats form Muslims and are moving to a safer location. This harassment is typical behavior by Muslims for any insult, or civil or legal action against a Muslim.

There should be no tolerance for pedophiles in any society, but we notice that in practice, Muslims pull together to protect any one of their number accused or convicted of pedophilia and child abuse.

Bosnian Imam claims child molestation innocence

The convicted Bosnian Muslim Imam that was sentenced to 18 months in jail for sexually molesting an underage girl told the gathering audience in the Bosnian village where he served and committed the crime that he is innocent and his claims were supported by a chorus of little Muslim girls that gathered around him to weep and shout that the molestation claims area a "Lie".
"Liers," little girls shouted in the chorus while weeping for the Imam Reshind Omerhodzic who, witnesses testified, took a young underage Muslim girl N.T. to his office and made her hold his penis repeatedly.

"It is very hard to determine on basis of television pictures and news articles how is it that so large a number of children gathered in one place and believe that all of it was not staged," said Muhamed Dzemdzic, Director of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights for Bosnia.
Nevertheless, Dzemdzic says, the gathering of children that exposes them to stories of underage sexual molestation is not good for the children nor the parents.
"That was not the place for children and that was a violation of their human rights," said Dzemdzic.

No witness accounts have said that the massive gathering in the village of Gluha Bukavica to publicly protest the conviction of the Imam was staged.
The genitor of the mosque in Gluha Bukavica, Salkan Hodzic, said that parents are ready to send 150 of their children to the court in Tranvik to testify that the Imam is not a child molester.

"Imam is not guilty," children followed up on Hodzic's claims.
The family of the molested girl, and the witness who testified of the molestation, have said that the villagers have threatened them with death because they believe that the girl lied.

"I will have to move to safety," says Salih Hodzic, a witness that testified at the trial of Imam Omerhodzic.

Days after Imam's conviction, Bosnian's chief Imam Mustafa Ceric who was schooled in Chicago in addition to Middle East, went to the village and appealed to his faithful Muslim flock not to kill the molested girl, yet remained silent about Salih Hodzic.
Once in the village of Gluha Bukavica, Imam Ceric proceeded to interrogate the molested child himself.

MINGORA, Pakistan, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A top local Pakistani official was kidnapped Sunday by unidentified gunmen in the Swat Valley, officials said.
Newly appointed District Coordination Officer Kushal Khan was on his way to take up his post when gunmen kidnapped him and his six security guards near Mingora, the valley's main city, officials told CNN.

The kidnapping came a day after a cease-fire between the government and Taliban militants was supposed to go into effect in the former northwestern Pakistan tourist region, now home to an anti-Islamabad militant insurgency.
Swat Valley Taliban commander Maulana Fazlullah was heard in a radio broadcast downplaying the cease-fire deal, CNN said. In the broadcast, Fazlullah reportedly said militants will continue their fight to impose Islamic law, or Shariah, in the region.

Are Honor Killings Simply Domestic Violence?

Amina Said (L), 18, and her sister Sarah, 17, were shot dead by their father Yaser at their home in Irving, Texas, in January 2008. Said was upset by his daughters' "Western ways" and was assisted in the killing by his wife, the girls' mother. The victims of honor killings are largely teenage daughters or young women. Unlike ordinary domestic violence, honor killings often involve multiple family members as perpetrators.

On February 12, 2009, Muzzammil Hassan informed police that he had beheaded his wife. Hassan had emigrated to the United States 30 years ago and, after a successful banking career, had founded Bridges TV, a Muslim-interest network which aims, according to its website, "to foster a greater understanding among many cultures and diverse populations." Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III told The Buffalo News that "this is the worst form of domestic violence possible," and Khalid Qazi, president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council of Western New York, told the New York Post that Islam forbids such domestic violence. While Muslim advocacy organizations argue that honor killings are a misnomer stigmatizing Muslims for what is simply domestic violence, a problem that has nothing to do with religion, Phyllis Chesler, who just completed a study of more than 50 instances of North American honor killings, says the evidence suggest otherwise. — The Editors

When a husband murders a wife or daughter in the United States and Canada, too often law enforcement chalks the matter up to domestic violence. Murder is murder; religion is irrelevant. Honor killings are, however, distinct from wife battering and child abuse. Analysis of more than fifty reported honor killings shows they differ significantly from more common domestic violence.[1] The frequent argument made by Muslim advocacy organizations that honor killings have nothing to do with Islam and that it is discriminatory to differentiate between honor killings and domestic violence is wrong.
Background and Denial

Families that kill for honor will threaten girls and women if they refuse to cover their hair, their faces, or their bodies or act as their family's domestic servant; wear makeup or Western clothing; choose friends from another religion; date; seek to obtain an advanced education; refuse an arranged marriage; seek a divorce from a violent husband; marry against their parents' wishes; or behave in ways that are considered too independent, which might mean anything from driving a car to spending time or living away from home or family. Fundamentalists of many religions may expect their women to meet some but not all of these expectations. British Muslims are providing the Taliban with electronic devices to make roadside bombs for use in attacks against British forces serving in southern Afghanistan, The Telegraph can disclose.
The devices, which enable Taliban fighters to detonate roadside bombs by remote control, are either sent to sympathizers in the region, or carried by volunteers who fly to Pakistan and then make their way across the border.
Details of how British electronic components have been found in roadside bombs were given to David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, when he visited British troops at their military compound at Lashkagar, in Helmand province, earlier this week.

In a briefing on British operations in southern Afghanistan by Brigadier Gordon Messenger, the Royal Marine commander of the British battlegroup, Mr Miliband was shown examples of the crude, home-made devices that are being used in attacks against British patrols.

Surprise victory: BNP member Paul Golding took a 76 vote majority
A shock win for the far-right British National Party yesterday sent a tremor through Labour amid growing fears that the recession is driving angry voters into the arms of extremist parties.
The BNP seized a Labour seat in a district council by-election in Sevenoaks on a substantial turnout, encouraging fears that the party could make significant advances in the June local and European elections.
The Kent town is a Tory stronghold at Westminster and local politicians had previously dismissed the likelihood of a breakthrough for the BNP.
But the result will be seized on as evidence that Gordon Brown's ill-judged pledge to secure 'British jobs for British workers' has backfired by encouraging nationalist sentiment.

Earlier this month a wave of wildcat strikes against companies using foreign workers caused anxiety in Whitehall and fuelled fears that the far-right is intent on exploiting the downturn.
The result in Sevenoaks coincided with figures showing that a decade of relaxed immigration rules has seen foreign-born workers from outside the EU take the lion's share of new jobs.
The victory was the first for the BNP in the southeast outside London. Its candidate Paul Golding beat Labour's Mike Hogg in the Swanley St Mary's ward, with a majority of 76 votes.

Swanley St Mary's had been a traditional Labour seat in a Conservative-controlled district. The BNP won 408 votes to Labour's 332, while the Tories earned 247. The turnout was an above-average 31.3 per cent.
Mr Golding said the win was 'outstanding' and had 'implications' for the rest of the south-east as well as the forthcoming European elections.
The BNP also made advances in local government byelections elsewhere in the UK.

Although the party stopped short of a win in Thringstone, north-west Leicestershire, it polled more than 28 per cent of the vote to third place as Labour successfully defended the seat.
In Bilton, in Harrogate Borough, North Yorkshire, it pushed Labour into fourth place to come third with nine per cent of the votes. The Lib Dems held the seat.
In January the BNP was just nine votes short of winning a Tory ward in a council byelection in Bexley, southeast London.
Labour MP Jon Cruddas, who has consistently warned against the threat of a BNP surge in white working class areas, predicted it could do well in the European elections.

He said: 'The BNP poses a threat in six Euro regions, with as little as 7.5 per cent required in the north-west, where the party leader, Nick Griffin, is standing.
'With Ukip faltering, few local elections and the economy hurtling into recession, we will need everyone who opposes the BNP's message of hate to play a part. A BNP victory will change the political landscape in Britain.'
Last autumn, when it emerged that the BNP was opening an office in Sevenoaks, the Tory MP Michael Fallon said the BNP had no history in the town and branded the move 'pointless'.
He said: 'Sevenoaks is not the sort of place for extremists of any kind, right or left.'

Female Muslim police agents should primarily not arrest men, thinks imam Ahmed Esmaili, head of the imam committee at the Islamic Council of Norway (IRN).

"If she must arrest, and she is alone or together with other women, then she can do it. But if she is together with other colleague, who can take this part of the work, she isn't required to do it," says Esmaili to VG.

The reason being that Muslims shouldn't have physical contact with people of the opposite sex who are not family.

According to justice minister Knut Storberget's (Labor) letter to the police directorate 'covering of the hair will be given a humble scope'. That's not enough, thinks Esmaili.

"It's not enough with just a headscarf. Hijab is a garment which covers the entire body, except the hands and face. It's an obligation and a decree from Allah," says Esmaili.

The lawyer, who recently praised the Mumbai terror attacks, said anyone becoming intoxicated by alcohol should be given 40 lashes in public. He claimed alcohol was "the root of all evil".

The 41-year-old made the remarks on his website Islam4UK, which argues that Britain should become an Islamic state ruled by Sharia law.
Mr Choudary also used the plight of George Best, the former Manchester United footballer who died aged 59 in 2005 after a long battle with alcoholism, to illustrate why it must be outlawed.

He wrote: "Under Islam, all harmful intoxicants will be banned unequivocally, regardless of their classification or their profitability in retail marketing.
"The Final Messenger Muhammad condemned the manufacturing, transporting, retailing and consuming of alcoholic beverages over 1,400 years ago and equated it with being one of the roots of all evils.
"Islam additionally imposes 40 lashes in public for deliberate intoxication, followed by 80 lashes in public if repeated for a second time."
Mr Choudary argued that alcohol should be "removed from society".

He also wrote that everything would be "sound" and "put right" if Sharia law was introduced in the UK, adding: "Islam is undeniably the only real solution for Britain's problems."

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Prisons and private homes have taken over from mosques as recruiting hubs for Islamist radicals in Europe, a shift that cannot be tackled simply by short-term government security measures, an academic said on Wednesday.

Under pressure from state surveillance and disapproval from local communities, activists who once trawled high-profile mosques for recruits increasingly use more discreet venues including makeshift prayer halls and bookshops, said Peter Neumann, a political scientist at Kings College, London. "This pattern of withdrawal from open agitation is consistent across Western Europe," said

Neumann, author of "Joining al Qaeda," a report on radicalisation in Europe published by an independent British-based think-tank.
"A lot of open activities that used to go on at mosques are now taking place in private flats and apartments, as mosques themselves become more vigilant and clamp down," he said in an interview on the sidelines of a security conference in Belgium.
"It's been driven underground. It's much more difficult for people like Abu Hamza to be operating out in the open, although it doesn't mean they have gone away," he told Reuters. [...]
Giving an example of the trend, the report, aimed at policymakers, said: "Mosques in Spain continue to be frequented by extremists, but potential recruits are now invited to private study group sessions as soon as a promising relationship has been established."

Neumann said radicalisation and recruitment within prisons was likely to worsen, noting that before 2001 no European country with the exception of France had a significant Islamist militant prisoner population. Now there were hundreds of such prisoners in Britain and Spain alone, he said.
"Recent years have seen the emergence of radical Islamic prison gangs which -- although not always overtly political in outlook -- are highly aggressive in their rhetoric," he said.
Neumann said such gangs provided inmates with a protective social network and a sense of self-esteem, the report says.
European security services, trying to strike a balance between protecting citizens and preserving civil liberties, had yet to formulate a full response to the trend, Neumann said.
"Sometimes they don't know yet what to do about it. They have awareness (of the trend) but it doesn't necessarily mean they have all the right solutions," he said....

IDF soldiers managed to capture hundreds of terror suspects during Operation Cast Lead in Gaza. One of them, 20-year-old Mohammed Amazi, was revealed to be one of Hamas' more senior fighters. Parts of Amazi's interrogation were published this week by the Hebrew-language Maariv.
Amazi told security forces that he was recruited by Hamas at age 12 as he left a mosque in his hometown of Jabalia. At first his participation in the group consisted only of daily Koran classes, he said. However, at age 13 he was officially sworn in to the terrorist group, and soon began actively supporting Hamas's armed forces as well.

At age 15, Amazi was an active member of one of Hamas's youth patrol groups. The groups patrolled Gaza in search of any evidence of impending IDF activities in the area.
"There were rumors that Israeli soldiers would invade Gaza, and we had to be ready to fight them at any price, to kill them,” he said.
At age 17, the young terrorist took a leave of absence from Hamas to study for his final high school exams. When he returned, he began military training, and was incorporated into a special suicide bombing unit trained to kill IDF soldiers.
Would-be suicide bombers underwent special training led by senior members of Hamas who had trained in Syria or Iran. The unit also helped Hamas prepare for the possibility of IDF operations in Gaza by hiding anti-tank bombs and testing explosives.

As Operation Cast Lead approached, members of Amazi's unit received uniforms similar in appearance to those worn by soldiers in the IDF's Givati brigades. Their plan was to confuse soldiers in order to draw close and carry out a kidnapping or suicide bombing.
Kidnapping a soldier was seen as “the most important thing, in order to stop the operation,” Amazi said.

Amazi and his companions ultimately failed in their mission. As he and a fellow Hamas terrorist fled from a Jabalia home after firing on soldiers, they came under fire, and Amazi was wounded while his companion was killed. Amazi took shelter in a local family's home and pretended to be a civilian engaged to the family's daughter, but was apprehended by soldiers despite the ruse.
Amazi admitted that he and other members of Hamas used civilian homes during the operation, even when the homeowners objected.
State prosecutors have filed an indictment against Amazi for murder, attempted murder and membership in a terrorist organization.

U.S. To Ask Syria to Disarm Hizbullah

(IsraelNN.com) United States Senator John Kerry said Wednesday that the new U.S. administration plans to take a new tack in the effort to disarm Lebanese terrorist group Hizbullah, by asking Syria to join the effort. Syria is the sponsor of Hizbullah and provides the group with weapons.
"We want Syria to respect the political independence of Lebanon, we want Syria to help in the process of resolving issues with Hizbullah and the Palestinians,” Kerry said.

Kerry, who heads the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee, is currently visiting Lebanon. He met Wednesday with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. Later this week, he is expected to visit Damascus.
President Barack Obama's administration will “engage in a discussion,” Kerry said. However, the administration will hold dialogue “without any illusion, without any naivety, without any misplaced belief that, just by talking, things will automatically happen,” he assured.

Israel communicated with Syria last year via Turkish mediators in hopes of negotiating for a long-term peace. Syria expressed interest in striking a deal that would involve the return of the Golan region, but Syrian leaders adamantly refused to cut their ties with Iran.
Report: Syria Increases Chemical Weapons Output
According to a recent report from the defense analyst group Jane's, Syria is expanding a chemical weapons plant. The plant, located in the northwestern A-Sapir region, grew between 2005 and 2008, satellite images show.
The A-Sapir plant was the site of a 2007 incident in which more than a dozen Syrian soldiers and several Iranian engineers and technicians were killed in an explosion. Foreign intelligence experts said the blast apparently took place as engineers attempted to put a chemical warhead containing mustard gas onto a Scud missile.

A nearby missile base was the site of construction as well, according to the images procured by Jane's. The base is believed to contain many of Syria's long-range Scud D missiles.
