The Iranian's achieving the ability to launch their own satellites, along with a near certainty of their gaining nuclear weapons, poses an enormous threat not only to the Middle East, but to the world in general. As he points out, such a combination would allow Iran to perform first strike against America with very few missiles. They are known to be developing ship launched missiles, which would allow them to get within "point blank" range for a nuclear EMP attack. Such an attack would devastate the economies and way of life of not only the countries or regions attacked, but the entire global balance of power and trade would be disrupted.

While that would not stop a US submarine borne counter attack, it would create enormous confusion and uncertainty as to who attacked, and how we should respond. An insane Islamic mullocracy in Iran might just think they could get away with crippling the US and not get vaporized by the submarine fleet. Add to that the belief by the Poison Dwarf that the Mahadi is coming soon to lead Iran and Islam into world dominance, and the West doesn't have much in the way of deterrence.

On February 3rd, Iran launched a “communications satellite” into orbit. At this very moment, North Korea is threatening to do the same. The ability to launch an alleged communications satellite belies a far more frightening truth. A rocket that can carry a satellite into orbit can also drop a nuclear warhead over any location on the planet in less than forty-five minutes.
Far too many timid or uninformed sources maintain that a single launch of a missile poses no true threat to the United States given our retaliatory power. A reality check is in order and must be discussed in response to such an absurd claim:
One small nuclear weapon, delivered by an ICBM can, in fact, destroy the United States by maximizing the effect of the resultant electromagnetic pulse upon detonation.
An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is a by-product of detonating an atomic bomb above the Earth’s atmosphere. When a nuclear weapon is detonated in space, the gamma rays emitted trigger a massive electrical disturbance in the upper atmosphere. Moving at the speed of light, this overload will short out all electrical equipment, power grids and delicate electronics on the earth’s surface. In fact, it would take only one to three weapons exploding above the continental United States to wipe out our entire grid and transportation network. It might take years to recover from, if ever.

Saudi Arabia just keeps tightening the screws on any sort of freedom in the Kingdom. Now cinema and theater are "against Sharia". That's interesting because the Taliban, a radical sect of Islam if ever there was one, is in total agreement with Sunni Saudi Arabia on the cinema issue. This goes to show that even bitter rivals within Islam can cooperate when the alliance furthers the greater Islam. I also think this is a good refutation of the theory that Islamic countries will become more liberal through dealings with the West. March 30, 2009: The Egyptian parliament passed a law allowing the president to buy military equipment and weapons for the next three years, without making details of the deals public, or even reporting them to parliament. The justification for this was the need for secrecy while making certain types of purchases. Exactly what types of purchases the government was considering was not revealed. It's a secret.
Now there are two types of military purchases that would be made easier because of this new law. The most obvious ones are corrupt purchases, with lots of payoffs and exorbitant prices. This, however, is risky, as the law expires in three years, and Egypt is already pretty corrupt. Government officials don't need a special law to help them steal. They do very well without it.
The other type of military purchase that would benefit from this law would be those items needed to build a nuclear weapon. Were such a project to be made public knowledge, the international community would go nuts and, worse for Egypt, much foreign aid would be halted.

It is probable that the affliction that befalls a Muslim in his family is due to him failing to take the means and measures to protect and preserve the family members under his guardianship that Allaah entrusted him to preserve. The Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, said: ''… and the man is a guardian of his family and will be questioned about them." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim] One of these great causes of affliction is residing in non-Muslim countries where there is too much perversion and bad behavior on the plea of freedom. It is for this reason that the Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, warned us against residing in non-Muslim countries as he said: "I am exempt from any Muslim who resides among the polytheists [non-Muslims]." [Abu Daawood].
The scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, stated that if a person fears for his religion by residing in a non-Muslim country, it is an obligation on him to migrate to a Muslim country.

WTFO: Secretary of Defense Robert Gates believes that Iran "is not close to obtaining a nuclear weapon". I guess you have to ask the meaning of "not close". WASHINGTON -- Defense Secretary Robert Gates says that he thinks economic penalties rather than diplomacy are more likely to bring success to U.S. efforts on Iran.
Gates says that if enough economic pressure is placed on Iran, diplomacy might provide what he calls "an open door" for Iranians if they choose to change their policies.
Gates says economic penalties are likely to get the Iranians to the table.
The defense secretary says Iran is not close to obtaining a nuclear weapon. He says Tehran lacks the capability at this point to enrich enough uranium to the levels needed for a weapon.

It is time for feminists, both women and men, of all faiths, and of no faith, to stand together for a woman’s right not to be murdered in the name of family honor. Indeed, we welcome men and women of all faiths, including Islam, to stand with us against female genital mutilation/castration, forced veiling, child marriage, arranged marriage, polygamy, and “honorcide,” and in favor of a woman’s right to live as a westerner in the West without being threatened and beaten for refusing to wear hijab, wanting to have non-Muslim friends, wear makeup, attend college, drive her own car, or end an abusive marriage. Muslim and Sikh women have been honor murdered in North America for all these alleged crimes against their religion and their culture.
Here are some specific examples of how American feminist leaders have addressed the problems of Third World women, including Muslim women, both here and abroad. While there are exceptions, most feminists seem to feel more comfortable criticizing their own government. They hesitate to criticize foreign, Third World governments, lest they be demonized as “crusaders” or “politically incorrect racists.”
In the 1980s, feminists respected Alice Walker’s brave stand against female genital cutting/mutilation. Walker, a feminist-”womanist,” focused on perpetrators who were usually women of color, in the Middle East and Africa, who were savagely mutilating their own daughters and granddaughters to render them “marriageable” for men. As an African-American legend, perhaps Walker was viewed as morally “entitled” to criticize foreign, including African, sexism. (Walker finally published her book about this, Warrior Marks, in 1993). In the 1990s, NOW national and state Presidents also spoke out against female genital cutting/mutilation.
Today, sadly something has changed. The unspoken politics of racism among the feminist intelligentsia, and among feminist philanthropists is as follows: If the victims are women of color, especially if they are Arabs, definitely if they are Palestinians, or Muslims, their suffering and their deaths matter—but only if their abusers and murderers are white, European, American, or Israeli. If dark-skinned Africans or Muslims of color gang-rape, kidnap, sexually enslave, bury alive, immolate or stone women of color, including Arabs, Palestinians, and Muslims, (in the West Bank and Gaza, in Afghanistan, Iran, Algeria, Sudan, Somalia), or if one Muslim denomination (Sunni) blows up the other, (Shiaa) in Pakistan and Iraq, it is simply not politically correct to say so. Muslim-on-Muslim crimes do not count in the same way that white European or American-on-Muslim crimes seem to matter.
This is the party line in our universities, in our mainstream media, at the United Nations and in international human rights organizations.
Why are Second and Third Wave feminists buying into this? Why are feminists sacrificing so many women to the dangerous ideology of “cultural relativism,” a belief system in which concerns about sexism are always trumped by concerns about racism? The authors are not saying that racism does not exist, that it does not matter, that it must not be addressed. We are saying that women are affected by both. And when a man or a woman seeks to objectify, abuse or murder women, they should be called out on it, no matter what their skin-color or gender may be.

Germany is home to several hundred "potentially dangerous Islamists", including a hard core of around 100, a senior Interior Ministry official said on Saturday.
Between 60 and 80 "Jihadists" have returned to Germany out of some 140 who have undergone training in camps in the tribal areas of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border area, Deputy Interior Minister August Hanning said.
"The danger should not be underestimated. The 60 to 80 who have returned make up the overwhelming majority of up to around 100 people whom we class as dangerous," Hanning told the daily Tagesspiegel.
"There are approximately another 300 potentially dangerous Islamists on top of this. Altogether we are talking about a network of around 1,000 people," said Hanning, who used to head Germany's foreign intelligence agency, the BND.
He added that he was worried about the possibility of attacks in the run up to this September's general election in Germany. "The threats do not mention the elections directly. But for Jihadists in Pakistan the election is important because it will determine Germany's foreign policy in the future," he said.
"We remember that the attacks in Madrid in 2004 were carried out a few days before elections in Spain," he said, referring to the commuter train bombings that left 191 people dead in Europe's worst terror attack.
"That really did affect the outcome of the elections ... al-Qaeda sees this as a model for success," Hanning said. "In the threats against Germany the Spanish elections are mentioned. That worries us."
A number of videos, some in German or with German subtitles, have emerged in recent months warning of future attacks on German soil because of the presence of 3,500 of the country's troops in Afghanistan.
The closest Germany came to an attack was in July 2006 when suitcases containing homemade bombs were placed on two regional trains passing through Cologne's busy main train station. They failed to detonate.
In September 2007 police arrested three men on suspicion of planning attacks on US citizens and interests using drums full of chemicals found in their possession. They are due to go on trial in late April.
This could be the most significant development to surface in the Obama administrations takeover of the government.
Here comes the "Islamic Advisory Board" that will "advise" Obama that only accommodation to Sharia law in America can stave off millions of Muslims rioting in the streets. No wonder it was kept "mostly under the radar".

CHICAGO — In a bid to get more Muslim Americans working in the Obama administration, a book with resumes of 45 of the nation's most qualified — Ivy League grads, Fortune 500 executives and public servants, all carefully vetted — has been submitted to the White House.
The effort, driven by community leaders and others, including U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., was bumped up two weeks because White House officials heard about the venture, said J. Saleh Williams, program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association, who sifted through more than 300 names.
"It was mostly under the radar," Williams said. "We thought it would put (the president) in a precarious position. We didn't know how closely he wanted to appear to be working with the Muslim American community."
Here's another case of Muslim arrogance and bullying in the academic world. This seemingly small event is just one of thousands of acts of aggression perpetrated by Muslims every day. Bit by bit, and inch by inch, Muslims push their Islamic supremacy onto Western societies.

Muslim students preventing Hindus from using QMU's Multi-faith centre

A row has broken out at Queen Mary University, London about the use of its multi-faith centre. The National Hindu Students Forum (UK) claims that members of the Queen Mary’s Islamic Society have been physically preventing students of the university’s Hindu society from offering prayers at the multi-faith centre on the premises by standing 15 students at the door. The last Hindu prayer in the evenings is normally at 6pm, but the Muslim group who have a prayer session before the Hindus say that there is "no demand for the use of the multifaith centre by other faith communities" and they cannot therefore allow Hindus to use the premises even though they have a valid booking for its use.
“The Islamic Society refuses to move out of the room even though we have a booking to use it for this week (13 March 2009). They did not even allow security to enter the premises and we were left standing outside the room unable to offer our prayers,” explained Kajal Valani, Chair of the National Hindu Students Forum. “The men who stood barricading the door issued verbal threats to us. We are going there again this evening, and we await to see if good sense will prevail.”
“This kind of incident should not be tolerated,” explained Kishan Bhatt from the National Hindu Students Forum. “We feel that the diverse culture of Britain is being violated.”
"It is important that students from every faith community are allowed to co-exist peacefully on university campuses," said Ramesh Kallidai, secretary general of the Hindu Forum of Britain. "A multi-faith centre must be exactly that - multi-faith. If one community believes that other communities cannot use a multi-faith centre and use physical and verbal methods to prevent their entry for legitimate use, then something is seriously wrong with our model of cohesion and good-relations. We hope university authorities, multi-faith leaders and the Home Office can come together to resolve this issue amicably."
"Education Institutes should be ensuring rights of other faith groups in universities and colleges to equal use of multifaith centres, instead of allowing them to become centres of preaching misguided hatred and extremism," said Sudarshan Bhatia President of the National Council of Hindu Temples UK. "The Islamic societies must show solidarity and respect to other communities."
The National Hindu Students Forum (UK) has given assurances that it will work peacefully and tolerantly with the Queen Mary’s University to resolve the situation peacefully.

The news was spread by the media and was soon known around the country, forcing the Interior and Health ministers to act and reassure the population. According to France Presse the killer text message caused the death of a man in Mallawi, south of Cairo. The Egyptian Gazette reports that "The man died spitting blood after a cerebral attack a few minutes after having received an sms from an unknown number", specifying that the terrible number "begins with the plus symbol and ends with 111". Official agency Mena cited an "official source within the secret services" that denies press information according to which "unknown foreign parties are sending text messages to our citizens who then complain about an unbearable headache followed by cerebral haemorrhage which results in their death". The ministry of Health also issued a note quoting health services from various regions and stating that "no case with such symptoms has been reported". The ministry claims that "These rumours contradict all scientific data". The ministry of the Interior instead announced the arrest of three people employed by an oil company that allegedly spread the rumour about the killer rumours.(ANSAmed).

In the last seven months, U.S. UAVs have carried out 38 Hellfire missile attacks on al Qaeda (and a few Taliban) leaders. In the three years before that, there were less than a dozen such attacks. Something has changed, and it has the al Qaeda leadership increasingly worried, alarmed, paranoid and desperate to find out who is letting the Americans know where the terrorist leaders are. This Hellfire campaign is hitting al Qaeda at the very top, with at least nine (of 20) senior leaders, and dozens of middle-management types killed in the last seven months.

Gothenburg hit by spate of morning bomb scares

Shoppers in Gothenburg suffered disruption on Tuesday as the city was hit by a spate of bomb scares.
The discovery of a suspicious shoe box in a subway tunnel near Gamlestadstorget in Gothenburg on Tuesday morning led to delays to tram and train traffic.
A further bomb scare earlier on Tuesday morning led to the closure of part of the shopping centre near Frölunda square.
Both scares turned out to be false alarms and news agency TT reports that by lunchtime transport links had returned to normal and the shopping centre had been re-opened.
Police bomb technicians were called to a Hemköp supermarket on Frölunda square this morning when staff reported a suspicious package. The store was cordoned off while police investigated the source of the alarm - a discarded shoe box.
Gothenburg police are not ruling out a connection between the two discarded shoe boxes.
"These boxes are not dissimilar, but we have not received any information of a threat," said Björ Blixter at Västra Götaland police to news agency TT.

Ban women from TV, urge clerics

A group of hard-line Saudi clerics urged the kingdom's new information minister to ban women from appearing on TV or in newspapers and magazines.
In a statement, the 35 clergymen also called on Abdel Aziz Khoja, who was appointed by King Abdullah February 14 as part of a wide reform drive, to prohibit the playing of music and music shows on television.
"We have great hope that this media reform will be accomplished by you," said the statement. "We have noticed how well-rooted perversity is in the Ministry of Information and Culture, in television, radio, press, culture clubs and the book fair."
The clerics' recommendation will probably have little effect because the king's reshuffle removed a number of hard-line figures and is believed to be part of an effort to weaken the influence of conservatives in this devout desert kingdom.
It won't be long till the Taliban have complete control of the Swat valley area. The world is standing by while a group of 7th century Islamic barbarians impose draconian Sharia law on hundreds of thousands of people. The Taliban cannot be allowed access to any of Pakistan's nuclear and non-nuclear missiles, no matter what it takes to prevent that.

Karachi, Mar.23 (ANI): The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has virtually imposed a ban on all the non-governmental organizations (NGO) working in the Swat Valley, as it has asked them to leave the region immediately.
The TTP has said the way of working of the NGOs was against Islam and it is not acceptable to it.
NGO is another name for vulgarity and obscenity. They hire women who work with men in the field and in offices. This is totally un-Islamic and unacceptable, TTP spokesman, Muslim Khan said.
Khan strongly opposed the presence of foreigners in the region.
They come and tell us how to make lavatories in mosques and houses. Im sure we can do it ourselves. There is no need for foreigners to tell us this, The Daily Times quoted Khan, as saying.
When asked that why the Taliban has been opposing the polio vaccination, Khan said: It (vaccination) causes infertility.
He added that the major reason why the Taliban was against the vaccination is that the vaccines were manufactured in foreign countries, and the vaccination program was run by NGOs. (ANI)

MADINAH: Islamic law prohibits marriage with one’s wet nurse (for men), her husband (for women), her biological children and any nonbiological children she breast-fed. All such individuals are described as the person’s “mahram.”
Since there is no official system of documenting the names and identities of children who have been breast-fed by a woman, some young men and women sometimes end up accidentally marrying someone suckled by their own wet nurse. This can cause difficulties when couples find out later in life. If they have children, then things can be an even bigger problem.
“We were married for seven years before we discovered we were brothers and sisters. My mother-in-law had breast-fed me,” said Hayat, a schoolteacher from Madinah. “We were lucky as we had no children,” she said, adding that she and her ex-husband only learned that she had been nursed by his mother when an old family friend visited her home.
“She was astonished to find we were married. She reminded my mother that when she had had puerperal fever after giving birth to me, my former mother-in-law breast-fed me and that my marriage to her son was thus forbidden,” she said.
Hayat and her husband divorced and remarried, subsequently becoming parents with their new spouses. Hayat said she does not regret separating, as she did not really love her ex-husband in the way one loves their spouse.

TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dismissed overtures from President Barak Obama on Saturday, saying Tehran does not see any change in U.S. policy under its new administration.
Khamenei was responding to a video message Obama released Friday in which he reached out to Iran on the occasion of Nowruz, the Persian new year, and expressed hopes for an improvement in nearly 30 years of strained relations.
Khamenei holds the last word on major policy decisions, and how Iran ultimately responds to any concrete U.S. effort to engage the country will depend largely on his say.
In his most direct assessment of Obama and prospects for better ties, Khamenei said there will be no change between the two countries unless the American president puts an end to U.S. hostility toward Iran and brings "real changes" in foreign policy.
"They chant the slogan of change but no change is seen in practice. We haven't seen any change," Khamenei said in a speech before a crowd of tens of thousands in the northeastern holy city of Mashhad.

Typical too little, too late, just too inadequate British (and Western) response to the monstrous practice of female genital mutilation. And the operative word here is mutilation. I hate to say it, but this is another half-assed, politically correct approach to the horrific Muslim phenomenon of sexually mutilating young girls to satisfy Muslim men's sick desire for total control over women.
If the British government was serious about stopping this barbaric practice, they would devote much more of their totalarian police state tactics to protecting young girls and prosecuting/jailing/deporting ALL family members, Brit citizens or not, for aiding and abetting FGM.

The NHS is to advertise free operations to reverse female circumcisions, with experts warning that each year more than 500 British girls have their genitals mutilated.
Despite having been outlawed in 1985, female circumcision is still practised in British African communities, in some cases on girls as young as 5. Police have been unable to bring a single prosecution even though they suspect that community elders are being flown from the Horn of Africa to carry out the procedures.
The advertisement will appear from next month on a Somali satellite TV station much viewed in Britain. It features Juliet Albert, a midwife who does the reverse operations, and promises, in English and Somali, confidentiality for victims of female genital mutilation.
The advertisement was expected to help to undermine demand for girls to be circumcised, and to popularise the reversal procedure, Ms Albert said. Thousands of such operations have been carried out at specialist clinics and hospitals around Britain and demand is growing slowly.
Female circumcision, which is done for various reasons, such as religious and cultural traditions, can cause severe health complications including infections and psychological problems. The procedure, predominantly carried out on girls aged between 5 and 12, can range from the removal of the clitoris to the removal of all the exterior parts of the vagina, which is then sewn up.
A study by the Foundation for Women’s Health, Research and Development (Forward), estimated that 66,000 women living in England and Wales had been circumcised, most before leaving their country of origin. The government-funded research also found that more than 7,000 girls were at a high risk of being subjected to genital mutilation in Britain.

Well is this news, or not news? Does this mean that the allies have actually narrowed down bin Laden's whereabouts to a mere million square miles? IMHO, the solution to eliminating bib Laden is to turn the US special operations community loose with no constraints on where or when they operate.
At any rate, bin Laden is not the most pressing issue in Pakistan. Control of their nuclear weapons is.

NEW YORK: The United States is said to have tracked down the world's most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden, in the impenetrable Hindu Kush Mountains in Pakistan's scenic Chitral region, according to a media report.America won't say it officially, but the world's biggest manhunt for bin Laden who murdered nearly 3,000 people on 9/11 has zeroed in on Chitral's stunning peaks and valleys, the 'New York Daily News' reported.
The region has been sealed off to outsiders and is now regularly buzzed by American spy drones, it said.Six US and foreign officials have also confirmed that the Hindu Kush mountains in the Chitral region have been eyed as bin Laden's hideout since 2006 by Osama hunters aiming for the big kill.A lengthy review of evidence, including recent Predator fly-bys, bin Laden's tapes since 9/11 and interviews with three dozen experts on al Qaeda, Pakistan and special operations, point to these vast mountains as Osama's likely haven, the report said.
Two senior foreign officials said the nearby town of Kalam also is suspect.In fact, drones were first spotted spying on Chitral last summer and were seen again as recently as February 2. It is so far from US-run airfields that drone sorties are limited to just a few hours due to fuelling issues, the report said.Moreover, Islamic militancy is taking root in several Chitrali valleys leading to Afghan border, prompting Pakistan to decree them off-limits to foreigners, local sources said, reinforcing the suspicion Osama is nearby.
